Hi,

I recently upgraded my Internet to Starlink with a Gen 2 Router. As a result, I lost SONOS connectivity. To restore SONOS connectivity, I put the Gen 2 Router into Bypass mode and reinstalled my old Billion Router. Whilst SONOS connectivity was restored, I don’t have the WIFI Range or WIFI speed that the Gen 2 Router provided. So, I’m now looking to upgrade my Gen 2 Router to either a new Gen 3 Router or a 3rd Party Mesh Router.

My question is:

Does anyone have direct experience connecting SONOS devices using the new Starlink Gen 3 Router?

If I can be assured of this then I’ll go SONOS Gen 3, if not then I’ll have to look for a 3rd solution. I just don’t want to spend the money on a solution that may not work.

Cheers

Danny

I’m just returning two starlink gen 3 notes I bought to set up a mesh. Everything else works fine but not Sonos (it creates a single network but Sonos items still connect to individual mesh nodes and they do not talk to each other properly so I can't connect my Sonos system together on a *single* network). Unless someone’s found a way around this I think it’s a non-starter for Sonos. Will have to buy another mesh system and run starlink in bypass.

From what i can gather, the underlying issues is that Starlink uses WPA 3  Network Seciruty Protocaol, and SONOS will only accept up to WPA2

Sonos can use WPA3 on a number of devices

Sonos 1, 5 and 7?

Sonos 1, 5 and 7?

Sonos One and Five… yes

Dont know what you are referring to as a 7?

See the bottom of this link https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/supported-wifi-modes-and-security-standards-for-sonos-products

Edit: from your profile, the products you own do not support WPA3
