Controllers and Music services

My iMac was upgraded to Sequoia 15.0.1 recently. Since then, I cannot find a Sonos app that is compatible. I used to be able to use a Sonos controller on my iMac which was very handy. What should I do?

Hello & apologies if this issue has been covered previously - I searched as best I could & was not able to find anything similar or helpful ...My music collection is stored (mostly in flac format) on a Synology NAS - My current problem relates to folders & sub folders - I will use a recent upload to try & explain …I bought a CD Boxset which has 4x CDs - I created a folder with 4x sub-folders (CD1 CD2 CD3 CD4) in flac format to transfer to my NAS - Each sub-folder had the tracks listed in numerical order 01 Track Name 02 Track Name etc - I copied the folder to my NAS using my Windows laptop & then using the Sonos Windows App ran “Update Music Library Now” - The folder I had copied then displayed with the others from the Artist in question - However, instead of 4x sub-folders below the main folder all the tracks (& no sub-folders) appeared in the main folder? - They were listed numerically as 01 Track Name (from CD1) 01 Track Name (from CD2) 01 Tr

Why isn’t Sonos picking up my paid streaming services?

Just after I updated my iphone 15 pro max to iOS 18.0.1 the Sonos app chrases when opening it. Is this happening to everyone or just me? Solution?

It takes several attempts to “change the station” in Sonos app/TuneIn.  The icons and GUI update to the newly selected station, but the actual audio is the previous station.  It only started a couple of months ago, so it’s likely related to a bug in the software update.  This topic was created previously - but the discussion was “closed” without any resolution.  Did I miss something?  Is there a solution for this bug?Previous discussion now closed:  

I, like every other Sonos user, lost access to my beloved local music library curated from my personal “hard copy” musical collection and playlists when the new app was released.  However, I was a lot better of that most because I had an old iPad with the “old” S2 app which was still able to play from my library.  Every time it offered to update I refused point blank for that very reason.Today however it appears that a device update has rendered the old app useless because it is now no longer able to control my Sonos speakers.  I consider this an almost underhand and sneaky way to “force” me to use an app which no longer serves the purpose I originally intended it for and renders my expensive speakers a lot less attractive than they were.A fix for this was hinted at being available “mid June” but still no sign. PLEASE, PLEASE, when will this be fixed?  And if the answer really is never, please come clean so I can attempt to offload my speakers on to someo

I suddenly can’t play my playlists I created on Amazon music. I get requested operation failed. I unplugged all devices. I logged out of Amazon. Still doesn’t work. I see posts about this from 2 years ago but no real solution. HELP! Thank you 

Almost every time I open the App I am prompted to sign in to my Sonos account just to see my “recently played” services. Does this happen to anyone else?

My whole family uses iPhones and can connect perfectly to Sonos, just my son not.what is different to my setup: he has an iPhone 15, I have an iPhone 14same isiOS 17.5.1 All WiFi Settings Sonos App Version 80.06.03 Sonos Loginwe both deinstall the Sonos app or reset the app. We both connect with an existing system. Both apps search in the same WiFi. Just my phone finds it, the other cannot find a system. We can reproduce this behavior and can do it even at the same time. Always same behavior.

There is so much saber rattling about how bad, awful or whatever derogatory word you may choose to use describing the past/current state of the Sonos app. Granted the release of the app in May, 2024 was an unfinished product that caused pain and frustration for many customers.Those complaints called for lawsuits and the firing of Patrick Spence and other decision makers who played a part in the botched release. Many customers have vowed to sell their Sonos and move on to another brand as a result. However, you should know that Sonos is not unique in the misstep to release the current app. Other companies have been found lacking in their due diligence to deliver a quality software, OS and/or controller as is the case with Sonos. I’m not going to drag this out by trying to quell your frustrations with Sonos as that will come over time and at different intervals for each individual. I have managed to reinstall my Music Library held on a Toshiba Hard Drive so SONOS is now picking it up.However, in most cases, up to 20 copies of each album are showing on the SONOS S2 app. some copies with either no tracks listed, or some copies with a few tracks from the album , and a few different tracks on another copy!Clearly I have done something wrong!Any advice on how to correct this situation would be helpful!Kind Regards,     

Suddenly the Android app just spinns and says "something went wrong". When i play from my Mac through AirPlay, everything is ok. I have restarted router, re-installed app and i see my speakers in the app, but it just spinns.  Thanks for help and advice. 

SENT TO CEO@SONOS.COM  I have never been a litigious person in my life but I think I would join in a class action suit against Sonos for What you have done to your users with this new app.  You have breached your agreement and trust with customers Rendering in many cases, thousands of dollars of expensive equipment virtually useless.  Why in Gods name did you make a major change to an app that has caused such confusion and operational problems.   First you introduced it no option of retaining the older app which worked just fine.  Then you admitted terrible operational errors that needed multiple fixes and to this day doesnt work well.  My music services cut out unexpectedly without recovering. Some of my speakers need multiple restarts to connect. There are substantial connection delays.  

Hello, I get the following error: “Your system cannot connect to content”. I tried to restart the speaker and the app, but nothing changed. It works to play from airplay, but not from the app. Please let me know what could I do.  Thank you,Stefan

Okay, this is going to be long. Like many of you I have hit the wall on the NAS issue.  Don’t let them lie to you about SMB.  It is 100% about indexing.Normal folder structure of Artist/Album/Song craps out quickly.  The meta-data is just too large for the crappy app So I copied songs individually to folders.  First couple of folders could do about 1000 songs. Works perfect. Can index these songs. If you do more than that it fails.  So this is a VOLUME issue, not a SMB issue So I created a few more Folders with 1000 or so songs in them and was able to index those.  Fine By the time I was at 5 Folders, needed few and few songs per folder Stupid, terrible, unfriendly app craps out at 16 folders (hard max) I can’t prove it, but it seems like things loaded better if I cleaned up some special characters that were part of the song names.So I can get roughly 9,000 of my 22,000 songs into SONOS.In

Well after investing probably circa £2k on Sonos speakers over the years I’m left completely exasperated by the utter uselessness of the black app.    It is truly shocking by comparison to the rust coloured app that preceded it.  It cuts out all the time, stops working when it feels like it, and changes songs midway through.  What a great update Sonos team……errr I don’t think so.   What has angered me most is the removal of the ability to add songs your currently playing to your own playlist.  Call me old fashioned but in any music app surely the first thing is should do is allow you to add to your own playlist. Not a bloody Sonos one that doesn’t even work correctly. All the decent functionality was removed and replaced with utter crap.  What I really don’t understand is how the tech people and the board are still in office.  Yes the CEO wrote out to say sorry but didn’t you consult your client base first.  Surely the first rule in business is to meet the needs of your customers. We were promised a fix in September, what is the target date for a fix? This is really bad escape defect.  We have waited over 4 months!

Today, my app tells me that I need to reauthorize the TuneIn app because account access has expired.  I follow the simple on screen process that takes me to the TuneIn website to authorise the connection but I get a message saying the pairing didn't work"Something went wrong when trying to pair to your Sonos System.Please return to the Sonos app and try again using the same credentials."Anyone know how to fix this?Thanks

i’ve spent the last 2,5 hours trying to get apple music working inside of the sonos app (i’ll leave the new app with all it’s flaws for another day). with how difficult it is to get it to work i feel it’s actively trying to prevent from using apple music inside of the sonos app, there’s no other way to conclude. everytime i try to sign in it downright refuses to get the authorization in. Everything from changing the DNS to rebooting router, the sonos system itself, trying an android device and the thought of factory resetting my entire account has driven me to the forum. i’m out of suggestions for what i could try. at what time frame can we expect somewhat of a usable state of the app and all features that used to exist?
