Sonos is gaslighting all of us.  I see no improvement in the app or overall usability of my system.  My Sonos devices are relatively useless.  And when I do plan a whole home music session, it requires a solid ten minutes to get the speakers assigned and volume worked out within the app.  What a pain the the wallet Sonos has become.

As far as buying headphones?  Why would I buy Sonos branded headphones when it is Bose and Sony headphones that I’ve been listening to mostly due to my Sonos system sucking so bad.

I mean this Sonos experience has been a great education in brand loyalty.  No loyalty to your customers = no loyal customers.  Simple math?

My Sonos morning alarm stopped working about three months ago, I have spent hours on this now.

i give up on this …..

My system loses speakers regularly and cannot manage to morning alarm.

I’ve lost count of the hours spent on this, the times I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled my system.

sonos seem to be incompetent.

my system worked fine for years prior to the update.

Dump the donos shit, get a decent manufacturer of sound systems , I have and glad about it, no more fiddling with the Sonos app. Heaven and I can listen to music….

I have done with Sonos as well.   It  is very  frustrating.   I still cannot locate German nor other radio stations  I located before 7 May 2024.  Before that it was sheer pleasure to find and play the desired radio stations and to receive excellent reproduction.  The radio stations I am able to use require a number of clicks to  locate.  Add to that the inordinately long wait  (over one hour) to get through to some luckless Sonos person on the telephone who tries  unsuccessfully to help -   wasting his time and mine!

Sonos should compensate all the Sonos purchasers whose equipment is now unfit for purpose.

What would happen if Sonos restored the old App or at least gave us the option of returning to it?

Easy to say but with $2500 invested in Sonos speakers it's easier said than done unfortunately...although with hunting season here they might be good for sighting in my rifle..

As a long-time Sonos fan the latest update has left me wondering what is going on? The app is frustrating to use as it is not intuitive. I am open to change when the change is progressive, but this has definitely been a HUGE regressive programming adjustment. Please fix!!! How can we wipe this new app and reinstall the previous edition?

You can't. 3 months ago you could and I had gone back to a previous working version on my PC. Everything worked fine. Tried to use it on Wednesday and it wouldn't even let me in till I upgraded to the none working version.

Please let me know what equipment you have bought to substitute for your Sonos.   I want to replace my defunct Sonos Port which has not worked satisfactorily since the App was changed.   Any advice will be gratefully received.

Try the WiiM Pro Plus.  WiiM can access music servers you may have on your network.  WiiM can also Index your library just like Sonos & BlueSound do.

Stupid and arrogant staff, not listening to their developers

What a mess, they deserve to go bankrupt!

Ach Norbert…

Have a look at Audio Pro

They also have a port like device

All speakers have buttons for volume control, source select, 4 presets so with one touch of the button you select your favourite audio channel..

Reviews are good

Audio Pro app:

https://audiopro.com/pages/audio-pro-control-app

Does what it needs to do, all stuff Sonos has is in there, and you can also play songs locally from your phone what Sonos could do in the past but is taken out...

Now I’m getting a lot of “Something went wrong” when trying to reply on this page. So this is a quick test.

Okay, now it’s working. I watched two of the videos above and they were informative. And somehow I linked over to a couple of older videos where they gave Sonos 5 stars for the simple-to-use IOS app. That was two years ago. They also mentioned how Wired SonosNet is a great feature because to extends to Sonos system by adding additional “wifi extenders” when adding additional speakers to your network. I agree, since if it wasn’t for this feature, I wouldn’t be able to use my far-reaching Kitchen SL speaker. I’ve been using SonosNet (WM:0) for years now and no longer have problems to my Kitchen speaker. Alexa talks to me and we’re all happy. But someone from this group (or maybe in another area) replied to me and told me that Sonos was phasing that feature out. That’s not good. Who at Sonos is making all these stupid changes and taking the company in the opposite direction from where they were headed when the company first came into existence?

Yes that is something I am still amazed about as well, what a bunch of stupid management decisions taken there. How to ruin something that started out as a very good product, easy to use, good sound quality, robust and always working into the mess we are now in….

Will TruePlay support be added for the new iPad Mini?

Imo it’s quite early to get official information about that. I think Sonos will have to check the new mini for compatibility first.
If you already own an iPad mini, just give it a try with trueplay. Otherwise from time to time a look at the following page imo would be a good idea.

With the latest update (28/10/24) the following features are still missing:

Editing/creating Sonos playlists on Android (This was a major reason I moved to Sonos! The ability to mix tracks from multiple sources)

Album Art in Music Library still not displaying.

Come on guys!

I did give it a try and was met with “Trueplay is not compatibile with your device”. I know it’s a brand new product so I was not expecting day 1 support, but just an idea of whether Sonos are looking into it.

Come on guys!

There’s more still not there

No playlist or ability to save a queue as a playlist - iPhone or Android

No quick alphabetized scrolling in music library

No ability to go to the album/artist for a song playing

No quick method for getting to the sound settings(eq), this was a recent and welcome feature on the old app.

There’s probably more too.

Album art works for me but not some songs within an album!

I think Sonos CEO said it will all be fixed by October or was it November. Anyone want to open a book?

maybe all will be revealed later…

the company will report financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended September 28, 2024. The company will issue a press release and accompanying slide presentation at that time which will be accessible at https://investors.sonos.com/reports-and-filings/default.aspx#section=earningsreports

I noticed there was an update to the IOS app. I downloaded it, but couldn’t find any changes or nefarious features that I would use. AND, of course, it still doesn’t hold your place in the music queue and takes you right back to the top when you hit the music queue icon in the lower left corner of the Now Playing window. *****!
