In the new 2024 Sonos App :

Where are the alarms settings?

Where is the Last.fm service?

Where is the Android widget?

This is a real nightmare. I hope Sonos will fix all that asap because what they did releasing this not finished app is scandalous.

@User56282

In the past using url stations also just worked via TuneIn (old) on Sonos.
Now via TuneIn (new) you can’t add the url directly without Sonos, but via the mobile TuneIn App. And that definitely works.
Just be aware of the fact that TuneIn some weeks ago had a bug in their Android app not being able to save the URL station to TuneIn favorites. I don’t know if that has been fixed in the meantime. For me using iOS TuneIn app it works well.

Why is the Sonos App so rubbish, it is poor design and keeps on loosing my speakers,  can work OK one night then the next nothing,  not very good at all. Puts me off buying more products.

Still can’t edit the queue after the July 1 update.  Which is the entire point of a queue, right?

I just noticed the night before last that I can now edit the queue.  I’m back to Winamp functionality, circa 2002.

Today’s update to IOS app. Not surprised, still no way to save a playlist and still takes you to the top of the playlist upon hitting the Playlist icon in the lower bottom left quadrant of the Now Playing window. Did anything actually change?

Android 80.12.02

App getting less laggy/buggy for sure, but no progress on below...

No saving/deletion playlists.

Still cannot see all Sonos Playlists.

Android no Trueplay.

No album art on local library (identified as http issue several weeks ago)

So...

Still using Windows laptop as primary editor after 6 months...

As a footnote.. notice less posting about these kind of issues... perhaps resignation...

B33Jay,

You may not be wrong on the "resignation" front!  eBay, FBM, and if a rumor is to be believed, a national donation center has received several pieces of kit and put up for sale.

Maybe like you, I hope that the Business side of the House of SONOS realizes the complete and utter cluster duck that the new app was and for some, it still is.  I'd rather there been a bit against the stock and the app put under more testing and completion while the headphones were delayed RATHER than the reputational hot and Legacy loyal customer aggravation! WTH!

Oh, and agree with EVERY call-out issue you listed plus adding in.... Radio station breakage, alarm feature breakage, playlist breakage, queue breakage, and customer loyalty breakage!

DO BETTER SONOS!

YOU HAVE, OR AT LEAST HAD, A TEAM OF BETA TESTERS TO HELP YOU PROVE OUT CHANGES BEFORE THE HIT THE MASSES!  I KNOW YOU DID NOT LISTEN TO THEM ON THE BETA LEADING UP TO D-DAY!

I'd strongly recommend that you immediately re-enlist every person you have beta testing profiles for in order to gain the most insight and testing coverage of every thing from icon changes to API updates to try and restore at least a fraction of the reputational damage you brought against the company. Or I fear the fate of SONOS to follow that of Bose (not good, sells by name not quality, dead company walking), Best Buy (fancy window shopping showroom), OpenDoc (Apple's black eye), Netscape (enough said).  You have 6 weeks to fix this, or I fear it may be too little too late. The headphones that started this avalanche are already in Gen 2 after only 4 lousy months and the new and hugely promising Arc Ultra may be great but if the eco system it's supposed to operate in is garbage, it too may as well be a fidget spinner for the good it will the companies bottom line!

@Nflonly,

Your screen-capture animation seems to end/loop before the App is loaded and you likely just need to improve the SNR levels for your products, perhaps?

If that’s not the case, then I would perhaps take up the issue with Sonos Support - there’s hopefully quite a bit they can do to assist you and your App display.

I can think of quite a few things that might assist, but it maybe much easier to discuss the issue with Sonos Staff on the phone once they have seen your video recording in full, diagnostic information and you’ve described the system snd network to them in detail.

Anyhow, here is the link to speak to Sonos Suport and I hope you can get the issue resolved…

https://support.sonos.com/s/contact

The Sonos support is totally useless. I was directed there because my speakers keep interrupting radio streams. I called them and all they were able to say is wait until a new update. All the supposed tools to track you problems are vaporware. We are waiting for half a year now and nothing is solved about this issue.

When I look at the related topics of this forum, I see only green colored checkmarks as if everything was solved so far. What a joke! The application still sucks a lot to the square. Why Sonos is not able to release a ‘new version’ going back to the future, just before all this mess started? Should not be too difficult, no?

Christmas is close, one can dream of such gift.

Just did an IOS update. Same two issues. What a surprise.

Just did an IOS update. Same two issues. What a surprise.

It seems like we will be living with an app that is sub standard for some time and that complaining in the hope that Sonos will fix it is a waste of time.

I think that its time to give up (complaining) and hope that one day an update will appear that delivers what has been repeatedly promised.

I am not expecting much though because new products take priority and are definitely a factor in the destabilisation that occurs with each update. With the big plans that Sonos have for diversification through new products I think we are in for a rough ride because the things that once made Sonos great no longer matter to them.

I just created a account, just to say how much sonos sucks. Since the update, i couldnt listen to Spotify without any interruptions...i dont know what to say, but sonos sucks so bad and i will never ever buy a sonos product ever. How is it possible that a company f***** up a update so bad, that the customer wont be able to use the product anymore!!!!

I was beginning to think I was a moron but now i see these forums and Reddit littered with thousands of users with Wi-Fi connectivity issues. If my Arc was not wired by hdmi all my Sonos hardware would be out in the junk pile. My system worked for a while but no longer and it proves impossible to restore. As an engineer I have enough technical knowledge to make most s*** work but not this crap. Even worse is support. The content is trash, workflows and troubleshooting do not work and the chat is entirely stupid. No wonder there is a 1 hour+ wait to speak with a human. Nobody can make this stuff work.

Is there anyway to throw this entire multi thousand dollar system into the trash? Seriously! This is terrible! Sonos sucks and the support is outsourced to people who are clueless. I know Sonos doesn’t care, it’s all about the revenue, nobody cares that the product is terrible. I can’t even watch TV without resetting everything. Worst investment ever!

COME ON SONOS, GET IT TOGETHER...

I’m the garbage man.  What’s your address?

I think they call that ‘recycling mode’

I’m the recycle guy.  Where’s the drop off location?

I could tell you… but won’t do so, because I like to be there before you are. 😉😂

I have tried my best to keep a good attitude through all of this. But this control issue is at best 1 step forward 2 back. I really would like to just move on to some other product. The more these companies try to add feature on feature on feature, the more tenuous it all seems to become. I don’t need a garage door opener that connects to wifi and tells me the temp. I dont need a pool vacuum that send my phone notifications. I just want the stuff pay for, to render the basic services I purchased.

Want to show some real contrition to the shareholders and the customer. F the bonus denial - extend or initiate share lock ups. Suffer the fate of your ability to right this ship or watch your shares go to zero. Seeing you stuck with either resolution of the issue, or go down with the ship - that's contrition in the Bay Area. Bonus denial - who cares.

I’ll show up, load the Sonos and take them away, no need to haul them off yourself.

Dang!  You guys beat me to it.

But guys, it's the highest success rate ever…

🤣🤣🤣

Other folk's success stories only make your own problems more aggravating.

I'm really hoping Sonos can get more folks happy soon.

We have 4 Sonos ports connected to built-in speakers throughout the house.  The ports are located in an out of the way spot in the basement.

When the Sonos hardware is functioning but the household Internet connection is down, it is now IMPOSSIBLE to turn off alarms because the app can no longer contact the devices on the local network.

Be-dumb, be-dumb. Be-dumb, be-dumb...

Be-dumb, be-dumb. Be-dumb, be-dumb…

Be-dumb, be-dumb. Be-dumb, be-dumb...

Be-dumb, be-dumb. Be-dumb, be-dumb…

It also means that we cannot play music from our local library in this situation either.

This S*** Show going on 8 months is mind boggling! Instead of getting better,  it seems to be getting worse daily..not finding speakers, not being able to turn off alarms,.not working period..But one must remember, it took courage!! What would really take courage would be to offer full refunds to everyone stuck with this non working garbage! Personally I could use the $2500 I've spent..JMHO
