I have been trying to get an official response from SONOS on their continued use of SMB1 which will be removed from various vendors products. I have been using SONOS since it was introduced with various SYNOLOGY NAS and Windows based computers to store my ripped music. When SYNOLOGY releases DSM V7 they have indicated that SMB1 will be removed and Microsoft Windows has deprecated the protocol. I will NOT purchase another SONOS product until they provide an official answer on their plans to continue to support streaming music from a NAS that does NOT require the SMB1 protocol.
By using the magnetic mounting plate, battery life gets reduced for below 24h hours! Simply not using the magnetic plates, battery life comes back to normal… learned this from another community platform and couldnt belive that its true!
Hello: I’ve created a number of playlists with various songs from all genres downloaded on my desktop computer. However when I listen to and play back the playlist using my Play1 speaker, many of the songs, because they were recorded at different volume levels, don’t play at the same volume level. Some songs play back louder than others and as a result I am continuously having to increase or decrease the volume on the Play1 speaker, depending on the song.Is there a way to set the volume on the Sonos app or Play1 speaker so that the songs on the playlists play back at equal or the same volume levels?Apreciate any help or insight.Thanks.
I know, another thread started with this topic. BUT…This is a LARGE installation, over 15 Sonos devices, in a very large home installation. On a Unifi Managed network. I know EXACTLY the status of the six WiFI APs that are finely tuned for exact coverage in a intentionally designed network.I can SEE the Sonos devices on the network.I can see 82-99% signal strength of the sonos devices that the controller (and app) can’t see. The Sonos devices fall out of the Sonos network, yet remain on the WiFi network uninterrupted. The EdgeRouter maintains the IP addresses of the missing Sonos units. The MANAGED network works flawlessly for 75+ other devices on it, and SONOS is the only devices that ever have a problem. This forum is full of advice that basically says turn off all the Sonos devices and reboot your network router. This is a ridiculous solution to advise customers to do constantly to resolve issues with your equipment. And for those of us with large Sonos systems, and, as crazy as
HiJust noticed a very strange problem in the Sonos app. I have albums by the group FireHouse (note the capital H in the middle). I also have albums by the group HammerFall (note the capital F in the middle). In both cases the correct case artist names are stored in both the Artist and AlbumArtist tags in the FLAC tracks. In the screenshot below you can see that for some reason FireHouse is displaying as Firehouse (with no capital H) in the artist list and also the track queue, but is showing correctly in the Now Playing screen!! I have tried removing my music library and setting it up from scratch and re-indexing and I get the same resultYou can see from the screenshot below for HammerFall that the artist name is displaying correctly in all 3 parts of the screenThis is same issue in the PC app and iPhone and iPad appsAny idea what is causing this?ThanksG
Hi there! Not sure if anyone had faced an issue adding storytel into Sonos? I have a paid account on storytel (I assume ‘unlimited’), however I am unable to add it in app..Here is the screen recordinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/15N2G6rhMhxGLwGUIKIvMEFVDVxFGop1R/view?usp=sharing Any inputs welcome, thanks!
Please consider adding a feature to the 'About my system' in the Controller a count of tracks can be displayed and a used vs. remaining capacity % could be displayed.1. This would allow Sonos owners to manage their own libraries2. reduce cost for Sonos in removing unnecessary traffic to Support for such a trivial request allowing them to focus on more serious support issues 3. Remove the time and inconvenience for Sonos owners having to contact Sonos Support for a trivial request
I’ve seen a few questions here about how to stream MLB audio from the At Bat app to Sonos. I recall that a few years ago there used to be an Air Play icon right in the app that you could use to easily stream to Sonos. But that no longer exists in the MLB app. So here is how you can do it in 2021.Open the app on your phone and start playing audio for a game Swipe up on your iPhone, this brings up the Control Center The Control Center should show a section that displays the currently playing audio From this section you will see an Air Play icon Click on Air Play and you should see your Sonos as an option (as long as it is a somewhat modern Sonos that supports Air Play)
I have 2 Sonos One SL speakers in different rooms, and the latest Apple TV. I have not previously had AppleTV sound through the speakers. The other day I was trying to set up Siri control for the speakers, without success. I was also trying to set up leave and return home routines as well as an alarm with the speakers. I’m now seeing a few weird things happen, all with Airplay listed as the source in the Sonos app. I’m now getting brief “now playing” banners come up over the Apple TV screensaver based on music set directly through the app (I think; it may have been the return home routine that set the music). I paused the music yesterday and it started playing on its own a few minutes later. No alarms are set around this time. The last 2 mornings since setting up the return home routine and a 4:45 AM alarm, I’ve had the music change shortly before 7 AM to the station set for the return home routine. Last night my son turned on a movie through Apple TV, and the sound was playing throu
Is there a way to only allow the connected devices to access the sonos one rather than anyone with the wifi access? Its so annoying ...anyone in the same wifi can mess the now playing
From looking a various blogs, I don’t appear to be the only person experiencing this problem, but it doesn’t appear to be easily searchable in the support forums and those I have found have been closed.I’m operating an S1 system linked to a Napster account. I have a number of Sonos Playlists setup using a combination of my ‘owned’ songs linked from my external hard drive music library and tracks from Napster. I am periodically seeing some of the songs ‘linked’ via Napster not payable from the play list. It appears the Napster server link breaks and the track/song can’t be played. To resolve the issue requires having to re-search for the track/song on Napster and re-adding to the Sonos Playlist, deleting the original ‘broken’ link from the playlist. Very annoying! Particularly given that the song can still be found on Napster. Is this because Napster move the track/song between servers, hence breaking the link where Sonos would find the track?
My main gripe is that 90% of the time I go to tap on the speaker icon to change the volume, the app opens unintentionally because the speaker is too small. So, I suggest to change the hotspot area so that anywhere in the green area will open the quick access volume control. Maybe this could also be extended so that only the blue area opens the app, pink are back/stop/ffwd and yellow is room selection. Tapping in the area outside any of these will just be a dead zone. Please see my crude illustration…
I visited my parents home. I updated their system to OS2 to be compatible with my app/my OS back at my own home. Suddenly as I tried to play on their (newly updated) OS2 I had to be logged in to their app account. Once I signed out of my, the app defaulted - without the chance to change - their email. As I tried to sign into mine I get “The email and password you entered did not match out records. Please try again.”Yes - thank you Sonos. My email is not the email associated with this specific physical product in this home. But I have an account! Why must I log in to the account that “owns” my parents’ system and not access my own??Have to say Sonos is one of the less if that the least user friendly systems I’ve ever come across...
Our Sonos Move speaker turned on and played music at 5:30 am. How can we find out which of our phones turned it on? It must have been connected maybe via bluetooth to one of our phones. We have personalization and additional usage data turned on, and so we know Sonos is collecting the information. How do we get access to that log or history data?
Spatial Audio/Dolby Atmos music is now available on Apple Music through the Apple TV 4K. It’s exciting to see more streaming services adopt these higher resolution audio formats. To play Atmos music through the Arc, be sure to have a TV with HDMI eARC or an HDFury Arcana and tvOS 14.6 installed. On the Apple TV 4K (1st Gen) model, go to Settings > Apps > Music and set Dolby Atmos to Automatic and Audio Quality to Lossless.Enjoy!
Hi, I have a Sonos Radio HD subscription and a Play:3.Is there any way for me to stream the radio through my computer, which is in a different room from the Play:3?Thank you.
Hello:Does anyone know why the audible service cannot be accessed from Spain?
I would like to play music that I have downloaded into my Mac through my Sonos system. How is that done?
SONOS speakers largely under-exploited. Being an audiophile for a long time, I notice that the qualities of the Sonos speakers are of great precision and of great quality. On the other hand it is spoiled at the level of the system which manages them, in effect the application does not offer in ANY WAY to adjust the sound to the top level with an equalizer (10 bands and +). Since every style of music is NOT EQUALS AT ALL, a professional sound system such as SONOS should give us the choice by offering us a QUALITY EQUALIZER option. This has not been the case for many years god knows why. It seems to me that it is not necessary to be an expert in sound to understand that if you want to listen to classical music, hip hop or even pop or country, each style of music requires its own configuration to have sound quality AND UNFORTUNATELY Sonos is ignoring this problem. Will there be someone one day who will eventually make SONOS understand how does a quality sound system work?
Spero di essermi spiegatoGrazie I have a SONOS system with Playbar, 2 Play3, 1 SUB and 2 Sonos On SL. If I buy Sonon PORT, can I connect the Pioneer turntable directly to Sonos port to listen to LPs on the SONOS system? If the PORT Line OUT is connected to the Onkyo amplifier, can I also listen to the LPs on the traditional system?I hope I have explainedThank you
I have an SD card that contains mostly 96khz/24 bit FLAC files. What would be the best way to access those files and be able to play them in HiDef? I only have SonosOne, SonosFive, and Roam units.
I dont want sonos radio. I already have a subscription service and don’t need another one. Or the sonos radio ads. How do I get the icon off my “Browse” list? I’ve tried all the suggestions I’ve found so far, including hitting the icon and then selecting a “remove” button (there isn’t one) and going to the online site and opting out there (no option).I know some will say that it shouldn’t bug me or that it’s just a part of the app, but I reject both of those ideas.
Can I play the songs loaded on my iphone 6 ios 12.5 on my Sonos speakers?
can i use the sonos radio app on sonos roam by bluethoot?
Hi All,I love the SONOS setup I have setup in my workplace. I have 4 placed around a medium sized office, and it provides great music at low volumes around the office. I have curated some Spotify playlists to play throughout the day too, which added to the experience. I attached my Spotify account to my SONOS account and it’s seamless. Here’s my question. I have each playlist set as an alarm on the SONOS system to change throughout the day and stop at closing. There are plenty of songs on each playlist to take up the amount of time each playlist runs + more to give some variety each day. But, the same songs end up playing at the same time each day. I have the Shuffle Music setting ON for each of the alarms and it still does it. Is there a better way to set this up than using alarms or am I missing a step in getting it to actually shuffle the music?
