I have two connect amp with sonos ceiling speakers. Both working on S1 app, I can group them and all. Now thinking of adding speakers to the hallway and living room. i was thinking of getting Play 5 - Gen 2. I was wondering if i can group them all together to play the same music in all of them.
or I better be looking at Play 5 Gen 1 speakers?

The Play:5 (Gen 2) is compatible with the S1 app so it can be grouped with the Connect:Amps.

A Play:5 gen 2 will work on S1 with your Connect:Amps, no problem. A gen 1 would work as well, but I’d recommend steering towards the gen 2 unless you can save a significant amount by going for the 1.
I say this purely because a gen 2 Play:5 is S2 compatible, so if you ever decide to upgrade, that’s one less item that needs changed. A gen 2 also comes with AirPlay support, which is handy if you have an iPhone, iPad or Mac.
In terms of audio reproduction, the two are basically the same.
