Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I have a stereo pair setup of Sonos 5s. Using the S1 obviously. When I play apple lossless files I've ripped through itunes some stutter. When played on S2 capable (Beam, etc.) They do not stutter. I have tried separating the pair and it still happens. Any thoughts??
I and many others are very frustrated that I can no longer have full control of the sonos app in windows 10.Please tell me how to restore this functionality or how to work around this issue. Thanks
I have several S1-era pieces that work just fine. Slowly building my S2 next gen ‘family’. I’ve got both S1/S2 apps working just fine on my iPhone. Want to add S2 app to my iPad (which has the S1 app currently installed and working perfectly). In order to add S2 app (to iPad), my understanding is I have to remove the S1 devices and then reset the app → that allows me to add S2 app and S2 devices to iPad → then I go back and re-add S1 era devices.1) Is all this correct or am I wildly misguided? 2) Will this process completely wreck my happily co-existing iPhone S1/S2 marriage?Any help/guidance would be most appreciated.
Hello! Non-techy Dinosaur here; I have a Sonos system that I play Pandora in the living room/great-room area. I also have a desktop pc in a back bedroom, no Sonos speakers there but obviously with pc speakers. Is it possible to get the Sonos/Pandora to play in the bedroom thru the Internet at the same time? I went to my Sonos & Pandora accounts, but did not see any way to sync them up. Please let me know if it’s possible, Thanks! Steve
When will iOS Shortcut be abailable for the SONOS app?It would be very helpfull to start the last or a special defined playlist in a room and activate a sleep timer by only one shortcut/ voice command.
My music library consists of several thousand recordings managed through iTunes (though I’ve just discovered iTunes has been replaced by Music). I have configured iTunes/Music to load and access files from an external hard drive attached to a MacMini running macOS Catalina 10.17.5.This MacMini runs S1, and I have several Sonos components on S1 in my home. I have used the MacMini’s S1 Controller’s Music Library Settings to assign the correct directory with my music files on the external drive. This had worked for many years, but at some time in the recent past the Music Library listings disappeared. After putting off dealing with this issue for a while, I bit the bullet this weekend and began troubleshooting. Progress so far:I downloaded and installed the latest version of S1 Controller for Mac (11.2.9) I have configured S1 to access the music files on the external drive several times I have run the indexing several times I have explored various permissions configurations on the Mac
HeyNot sure if this is a use question or feedback.I use quite often the function "start radio" from a specific song. I find it's a nice way to create a playlist without much effort. The thing is, when I do this I like being able to see the proposed queue and edit it, removing, skipping or resorting songs. When I try to do this in the Sonos app the queue seems empty, is this normal? The result is that I default back to my YTM app, but since it cannot directly cast to my speakers I need to go through my TV Chromecast, which unnecessarily keeps the TV screen on while I play music.Would be great to know if others also have the same issue and being able to raise the feedback to the dev team. ThanksSergio
Western Drive have been compromised and told me to disconnect MyBookLive from the internet so my 125gb of music, lovingly put together over 18 years is now invisible to Sonos. WD solution… I transfer it all on to something else, send them the hardrive they send a voucher for 40% off certain models and I buy one and transfer from the “something else” to the newly purchased item.
I’m having problems right now with the S2 Android and PC apps telling me that something on my system is incompatible. I have three Play:1s, none of which are reported on the System page in my account as incompatible.Solutions for fixing this incompatibility message such ashaven’t helped. When I follow the steps from that, I get to the point of checking for updates, where I get an error 1101: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4908From that page, when I restart the S2 PC app, it says it’s found Sonos on the network (without noting any incompatibility) but tells me there’s an update, which just goes back around to that same error code. All the troubleshooting points past that are not relevant (not using Android app, no device on Ethernet, no settings on router changed and devices are working properly).I’ve had the same message about incompatible devices when installing the S2 app on my Android phone. I am therefore still using S1 on it.
Can a person listen to his/her music through another Sonos account?
I'm considering buying a dirt cheap iphone if I can get it to work with Trueplay. I'm considering it, not completely sold on the idea. My Sonos Roam and Move can provide Trueplay without the need of a phone... Weird that speakers such as the Arc cannot.Anyway, does anyone know what is the oldest version iPhone I can use? Thanks in advance.
I use the latest Sonos S2 controller on a Macbook Pro (Intel 13”, 2020) the latest version of OS X (11.4), and recently noticed that the controller becomes unresponsive when I connect my computer to an external monitor (or disconnect from one). I can then force quit to exit the app, and everything works when I open it again, but another display switch and it often happens again. Anyone else seeing this? Steps:Open Sonos S2 controller, everything works Connect to an external monitor Sonos app may now be in the “Application is not responding” state (but not 100% of the time) Right click on the dock icon to Force Quit App flashes quickly (looks like it becomes responsive for a moment) and exits Open Sonos S2, everything works
Just wanted to let you Sonos know that I used to be a great ambassador for your products - I have five. Since the forced upgrade where half my products no longer work, or if they do I have to use different controllers for each, I’m embarrassed to admit I was ever a fan. Your business is a disgrace.
Been using the Sonos arc for about 6months connected to an LG CX via eArc without issue (other than only getting a + and - symbol when controlling the volume) today though the tv is recognising that the volume is being changed but the speaker isn’t doing anything, it will change via the app but not with either the sky or magic remote.
I am trying to play songs on my phone to my Sonos and the Sonos app on my iPhone does not see the Sonos speaker phone connected via ethernet, however it works over Wi-Fi. All my other devices connect just fine via ethernet. However for some reason Sonos has blocked ethernet functionality via the S2 app. I do not want to use the soeaker as a bridge. I have a fast ethernet connection and I don’t want it to be on Wi-Fi.Please update your app to use ethernet as a priority instead of wifi.
The app’s UX is soooo flipping badly designed that deleting a room is so unintuitive that an inter-planetary search needs to be done to find out how to do this simple task. Then all the self righteous fanboys (schmucks) jump in defending why it should be so crap and that we should all appreciate it’s un-intuitivity - Well 418,000 search results don’t agree with you.So after the question was posted back in 2018 and still remains - How the flipping hell do you delete a room. AND why has it taken over 3 years to still be so sh1t?
Hi,Not sure is this new thing or havent this worked with me before. I use my Android to control my Sonos system trough Spotify app. For my phone I normally use my same wifi as my Sonos system has. Now when I use my mobiledata 4G in my phone I can control my Sonos system (that is still connected to the wifi!) normally with no problems. Has it always been like this as using Sonos S2 app it demands to be in the same network as the Sonos System but in Spotify this is not the case.

Hello, just after opinions on Amazon Music Prime?.I'm looking at getting the Amazon Prime account with Music Prime. How well does that work with Sonos and can you select individual songs or is it just playlists?.I'm aware they do Music Ultimate but I'm only interested in how the Prime works with Sonos.Any comments appreciated!.Cheers, Keith.
I’d like to request the ability in the app to turn off the surrounds completely when listening to music. Currently the lowest you go can is Ambient/zero, which still allows some sound to be audible from the surrounds. I’m sure there are users out there who would enjoy the reverse as well, where you can keep the surrounds on for music, but mute completely for TV/Movies. My setup includes an Amp, 2nd gen sub, and Ikea Symfonisks for the rears.
I have the Fire HD 7 4th generation using OS 5.6.8.0..Sonos S2 App is not supported. What can I do if anything?
Hi all - I just purchased a vacation home & want to:Set up 3 new speakers at my new locationUse the same App & services already established in my primary residence, to control the new speakers.WIFI network & name will be distinctDo I set up the speakers as new, or connect to existing system?I do not want separate accounts & I DO want to be able to access the services already set up for this. Thanks for the help.
I would like the sub level to be discrete for music/tv - as per the surrounds when grouped with an Arc. Being able to adjust the surrounds (in my case 2x play5 g2) is great, but the sub is stuck at a single level - I have to set to -4 at least on most good films/shows but then move back to 0 for music
It’s a good app but running on macos it starts out at 100mbs which is fine but keeps growing until it’s using 1GB of memory. (on the latest sonos desktop app and version of MacOs). Needs fixing
I have always been using the Sonos App, with the Deezer music service connected. This works, but the functionality available is never as good as the Deezer app itself. The Deezer app couldn’t play on the Sonos speakers though, so I never used it.I just discovered that Deezer has (finally) allowed us to connect to Sonos from the Deezer App. Select the “Audio Output” with Airplay. I now see my more recent Beam and from there can group some of my older speakers. This is great, as I now can use all of the functionality in the Deezer App, not the limited set from the Sonos App/Deezer plugin. The big surprise though is this sounds better. I’m not sure if I’m imagining it or not, but there seems to be a marked improvement in sound. The songs I’m playing now are all marked “HQ”, but AFAIK I was streaming high quality audio using the previous Sonos App with Deezer configuration. Is it possible I really am getting better sound with this configuration?
