This will be long because I’ve seen others ask this question and no one answered it except to tell them how they should have wifi. I have Sonos one Gen 1 speakers. I have internet. I’ve downloaded the SONOS S2 app on my computer. It has 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD hard drive.I do NOT have subscribe to wifi because it’s an additional $39.99/mo with my ISP provider. I run everything via Ethernet cables. Is there a way to hook up these speakers WITH OUT WiFi? I have Ethernet cables connected to them all and each one has a dedicated spot in the the racks, but when I try to use the app it says “WiFi isn’t connected.” I have plenty of internet going into the computers, which is how I’m typing this… I just don’t have nor do I want WiFi. All the computers connected via Ethernet work. All the security camera connected via Ethernet work. All the everything connected via Ethernet is working… EXCEPT these speakers. How do I make this app work so the speakers will work?
Ha Ha Ha, the fomo pressure has caused me to throw caution to the wind.
I have several Spotify playlists. The largest one has 4,000 songs. When I try to play that playlist via the Sonos app, I get “Unable to add songs to Queue”. This happens in both the mobile app on my iPhone and the Desktop app on my PC.I am able play a Spotify playlist from the same account that has 775 songs in it.What is the maximum number of tracks I can have in a Spotify playlist if I want to play it via the Sonos app?
This a feature that was once requested in this topic and I’d like to bring it up again as it is also something that would greatly improve the app.Essentially when using the Android app and you browse albums on a UPnP server you can only queue 1 track at a time instead of the entire album. There is no other way to queue an album without adding tracks one by one to the queue. There is no malfunction and this is just a feature request.
Hi, I have a Deezer Family Premium account but I can no longer select which account of the family I want to use. It only shows me the main one while some time ago choosing which Deezer user account to use was possible. Any idea why this is happening?
I’ve been using this set up for a while but it’s optimal (especially for playlists) so wondering fi someone has figured out a “better” to do it. I have 3 Sonos speakers (2 old “5’s” and more modern “1”) Still using Sonos S1 controller on my Mac and iPhone Macbook Air (recent) running Big Sur 10.6.5 Old WdMyCloud NAS Sonos Library points to wdmycloud/public/sharedmusic/ and within that i have all my music folders copied from the iTunes music library.I buy music from ITunes/Apple Music or Rip Cds, and store them on my local Music folders on my Macbook. Then I usually copy the folders correspondent to the new albums over to the /sharedmusic/folder on my wedmycloud that Sonos points to. My “issues” are:I wonder if ther’s an easier way to automatically copy new music that goes intio my local Music folders to the NAS (I always see some “automatically copy shortcut” in the iTunes folder but don’t understand it more importantly, my playlists from Music don’t get imported to Sonos and I”m not
How do I add an app to Sonos that's not listed among the available choices? I want to add Podcast Addict so I can play my podcasts on Sonos.
I don’t if this is just me, but my font has changed on the apple iTunes on my Sonos app. Also the alphabet isn’t displayed on the side of my artists column anymore. I’ve check if I need to update & everything is current. Has this happened to anyone else? June 2022
On the Android app when I adjust the volume slider it displays a value, but this does not happen on the Windows (10) app,Is it possible to get Windows to display the volume value? If not can this be added to the Windows app please.
I’ve got hundredes of Cd’s stored on my PC. However we rarely listen to them anymore as we use Sonos and Spotify. Does anyone know how I can import it all as a playlist or just as artists? I don’t want to physically upload all the data, just have the Artist Names etc imported to my artists so I can play the music.
In my old S1 and S2 systems I could access my extensive music library on a SAMSUNG SSD attached to the primary ASUS XT8 router.Unfortunately, my SONOS Sonnect, 5 Play1 and a SONOS ONE are S2, after major issues trying to set up S2 on ASUS XT8 Mesh network without success and having to destroy the old system and build a new one from scratch using SONOS netPlay1 attached to the primary ASUS XT8 router.I am now unable to connect the music library (SAMBA share) to S2 WILL THIS WORK?All play1, 'sonos one' and Connect are currently S2 I have a disconnected bridge still on S1 Is it possible to: 0) Wire Bridge to router 1) Factory reset all Play1 and Connect 2) Set up an S1 system starting with Bridge 3) Add 5 Play1 and Connect to new S1 system 4) THEN disconnect Bridge and wire the Play1 to router 5) THEN add music library. 6) THEN convert to S2 7) THEN add SONOS ONE speaker?
It is really annoying that TuneIn plays adds when opening a radio station in Sonos. Now they even play ads during a piece of nice music. How can we avoid this, is there a work around. Or should there be a possibility to pay for add free radio (thinking about it that the radio stations i listen to als play there own ads) any advice?
What’s the best way to control alarms or scheduled music play? Is it through the Sonos app or through Spotify or Apple Music? I currently use the Sonos app to choose which playlist to play at a certain time, but I find it to be a little bit clunky and I’m wondering if there are some better options.
I’m moving from House A to House B, taking House A’s Sonos speakers with me and planning to add them to House B’s existing Sonos system:- House A is my house and my Sonos system;- House B is my partner’s house and her Sonos system (mine really, but set up under her credentials, unlike in House A)- The end result is we want all speakers working at House B in a single system. Both House A & B’s Sonos systems are currently fully WiFi (ie. no wired connections, no Sonosnet connections).- NB A slight complication, perhaps, is that while House A is on S2, the destination system is on S1 as it still contains an old Play:5. As part of this move process, that old Play:5 will be removed and so it will be possible to update House B’s system to S2. It’s not clear to me that the instructions in: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1061?language=en_US cover this scenario… 1. How do I go about achieving the above?2. And importantly, do I need to do anything to “prepare” House A’s speakers pre-mo
Was there another update last night? My 8 am alarm started, but no music in Office. Checked the app, Office had been ungrouped. This happens every time there’s an update.
This is just feedback to Sonos.I don’t really like having to reset my router every time the Sonos app can’t find my Sonos system, whcih is becoming more frequent. Everything in my house is connected to the router, so resetting it is not ideal. I am sure there is a technical reason for needing to do this, but your users don’t care about that. All they see is that it is becoming increasing onerous to own and operate a fairly expensive sound system. From a marketing standpoint this might be a problem for you.I’ve had a Sonos system for 12 years. For the first time I am beginning to think that it isn’t really worth it.
I am about to purchase a new iPhone 13 pro. At the moment I am using my Sonos app on an iPhone XR. The app is the latest 2 version and my speaker is the Sonos 1 (2nd generation). Will Sonos automatically work when I transfer app to new phone or will I have to do anything in settings? Your help is much appreciated.

Hi there, I’ve just added the Radioplayer service. I am in Germany and Radioplayer is only listing German Radio stations. Afaik, Radioplayer is also available in other countries. Why can’t I select a French or British radio station in Germany ??? I know that I can do that with TuneIn, but TuneIn is playing ads when I start streaming a radio station, so I want to stop using their service if there is an alternative. Thanks in advance!Oliver
I am in Italian living in Russia. Currently I am unable to use your products because you disable the Russian music services. Although I am not sure this method is effective, I understand your marketing attempt at the expense of you clients to stop the War. Anyway, since I have nothing to do with war and since I cant use your product - will it be possible for you to reimburse me? PS: By the way if I move back to Italy and Italy get involved with NATO in an senseless war like it did in Iraq, Libia, Serbia, Afganistan - are you going to disable the music service also there?
I want to listen to all the episodes of a series in BBC Sounds, but can’t find a way of displaying the available episodes or selecting the ones I want. When I select BBC Sounds | Categories | etc, it just gives me one episode and, if I select that, I can’t find a way to choose others. And if I switch to ‘Show in Sounds’ it plays it through my phone rather than my Sonos Port. Can anyone help? Thanks.
The Sonos S2 App has a connection to the Sonos-System, but not to the internet, so an update of the controller is not possible, a connection to spotify or TuneIn within the controller is not possible etc.Used system: macOS 12.4Used Sonos S2 App: Vers. 14.8Has anyone an idea how to solve this issue?
I honestly feel like I'm at wits end with the Sonos app. Opening the app is always a flip of the coin. Will the app find my system, or will I see the dreaded "Unable to connect to Sonos. Let's fix it" error message? My current setup is Beam and 2 x One SL's, controller app on an iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Pro 2020, as well as a partner using an Android phone.Things I've tried:* Complete system on wifi vs Beam wired by ethernet and One SL's on wifi.* Numerous resets of the modem router and the speakers* Setting static IP addresses for the speakers* Creating port-forwarding rules for the speakers on my modem router to bypass the firewall* Turning off band-steering on the modem* Setting non-competing wireless channels for the router and for the Sonos system.* Uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app* Submitting diagnostics and chatting with Sonos support (which suggested the wireless channel change for the Sonos. I did this, it woked fine for 30 minutes, then back to the same). I'm yet to
Again requesting a widget, has been requested before , but I am unable to add my voice as a customer since that thread was closed: I own 10 of your devices. I would only consider adding to the system if the focus was taken off baby monitors and put back on things that improve basic usage of your devices. And easier to access volume control would be a big improvement thanks
