Hello all, Hope you don't mind me posting here, I'd love your feedback and hopefully this is a product you'll be interested to talk about. I have Sonos in my home, but found it frustrating to keep unlocking my phone to turn speakers on and off all the time. I have been working hard (on my own) over the last year to create a system which uses radio frequency sensors (£7) to control all of my smart devices. You can check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1109816630/trajectio-motion-powered-hue-and-sonos-smart-home Would love to hear your feedback.
I got a new router and am having trouble connecting my soundbar. I don't see an advanced settings in my app and really do no want to take the soundbar off of the wall where it is mounted and haul it upstairs where the router is to connect directly. There has got to be an easier way than manually connecting it. Ideas?
I would like to play audio files on my Ubuntu PC to my Sonos system but haven't known how to do it. Have just come across the VLV Media Player (Ubuntu). I believe it could stream media to my Sonos but don't know how to do it. Any suggestions?
I recently bought a new macbook pro and I had sonos installed on my macbook. My macbook pro does not have a disc drive so I need help knowing how to install it on.
My Sonos is reading My Music Library from my WD MyCloud NAS just fine. I have a 'Top Rated' playlist created in iTunes. iTunes itself even reads it from the NAS as opposed to direct from the library on my iMac. I've exported it as an m3u file and imported it into Sonos. Sonos even lists all the tracks. BUT, when I try to play it, Sonos cycles through only finding 1 track to play. I can't export the Playlist within iTunes when the MyCloud is selected as the source; it's greyed out. I can only export the playlist from iTunes when 'This Computer' is selected. Any advice would be appreciated.
keep getting the message "network speed insufficient to maintain playback buffer" when i play music from library on pc, internet radio works fine
The controller works fine full screen but when changing the windows size it does not resize all the elements. Sometimes a minimise and restore sorts it but not others. This has been an issue with v5 and 6. No other apps corrupt like this.
A Sonos user would like to disable the hard buttons on his Sonos devices via the Sonos Controller. For exemple when he is having a party home he want to avoid his friend to modify the volume level or pause the music. What do you think about it?
Hi , iam new here i have just bought a Play 5 - gen1. By any chance are you considering giving preset Equalisers in the app. Just could be good for different genres. I love the product.
I recently updated one of my computers from Mac OS Sierra 10.12.3 to 10.12.4 and all seemed fine until I tried to use the Sonos Controller and it can't see my system - no problem from other computers or iOS devices. Tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps not realizing it might have been the Mac system update. Then today I updated another machine and the Sonos Controller won't work there either. I'm starting to sense a pattern! Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts? Thank-you. ric
When is The Think With alaxa and sonos comes out?
I have a Sonos playbar configured for surround with dual play:1s and sub plus a standalone play:1 in an alternate room. These are all setup on a wireless network. The wireless network using a Linksys LAPAC1750 access point with a Cisco DPC3827 Docsis Gateway on the frontend. The wireless network is configured with dual band radios on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. These share the same SSID and same WPA2 passphrase. The networks are configured with band steering. Devices with connect to the 5ghz radio are unable to discover the Sonos systems (connected to the 2.4ghz radio). Devices on the 2.4ghz radio and on the wired network are able to discover the Sonos system without issue. How can I allow devices connected to the 5ghz radio to discover the Sonos system?
Copied from another thread, courtesy of jgatie - full question was: "Do you believe digital audio, outside of mastering/production techniques, can be improved by playback resolutions greater than 16/44.1?"
I have Sonos controller apps listed from old computers and tablets that I no longer own. Though I have reformatted those drives and tablets before I got rid of them they still show up in my account. I'm concerned because I know that you can only have a certain number of registered controllers for your account. I would like to clean that list up. How can I remove them from my account Thank you Tony
A linux controller for the Sonos system is really needed. A basic controller shouldn't be that hard to create, so even if the userbase is smaller then for Windows there shouldn't be a cost-reason to not do this. The strength of Sonos is ease-of use, and a user that -for instance- prefers Ubuntu will be left to use his/her phone.
I operate my sonos from my mac and/or galaxy lll. When I use the quit sonos command or drop down, the music still plays, although the Sonos app closes. I either need turn off the volume, or unplug the speaker. What am I missing?
Hi, I notice that sometimes the Android Sonos app does not find matches when I use the Music Library search function. I run the 'Update Music Library Index' daily so that is not the problem. Examples: 1) 'Scorpio Rising' -> when searching for 'ARTISTS' or 'SONGS' it does not show a song which is tagged as being from artist 'Scorpio Rising'. This seems like a bug somewhere. My tags are filled in correctly. When I search for an incomplete artist / title name, sometimes it finds the songs, sometimes not. Example 2) Artist = 'The Doors' .When I search for 'doors', it does not list 'The Doors'.
Hi everyone. Indexing new music takes 30 - 40 minutes now. It was much faster before, if i remember correct it only took 1 - 5 minutes to add new music to my library before. I have a new Synology nas DS216play. I'm using Sonos-controller for PC when i update my library. All help would be highly appreciated! Regards Edvardsen
Once again Sonos removes a feature. Truepkay does not help me at all. For years I've been able to adjust balance based on where I am sitting. Removing this feature has massively effected my usage. I don't want to wander around a room with my iPhone every time I move seat. Why has this been removed Really stupid thing to do.
When selecting an album to play from the list of albums, tracks with the same album name are combined even though they are different artists. For example "Dreams" by Whitest Boy Alive are combined with "Dreams" from The Allman Brothers. I have the latest sonos controller (4.2) for mac.
Hi Everybody! After adding to sonos my google play account, The uploaded music doesn´t appear (but when I log to my account in the PC or directly in the google play app , everything is ok) neither in my iphone nor in the desktop controller. I´ve checked the configuration of my account and my PC and the IOs appear as "authorized". I've tried removing and re-adding the service, re-authorizing the service etc. too and same problem. Help!!!! I´ve updated to iOS8 and still wrong.
The Android tablet app has a shortcut to the Equalization screen from the Now Playing screen (see page 2-13 of the documentation: http://www.sonos.com/documents/productguides/en/AndroidTabletGuide_en.pdf). Will this be added to the Android smartphone app? (And the iDevice apps for that matter?)
In the controller app I wish you could reach the EQ settings with a single tap or at least through the "..." option. It currently takes me 6 taps which seems like poor design.
Many people on these forums have commented how poor the provision is for Bass/treble control. Here are my thoughts: 1. The existing base/treble control being hidden away in settings is very poor design. Instead they need to be up-front wherever and whenever volume can be controlled. 2. Obviously the base/treble needs a more refined equaliser design so that at least the midrange can be controlled. 3. Bass/treble control needs to be controlled on a per-room basis. As an example our kitchen is directly over the bedroom of the flat below, so in the early morning we NEED NO bass in the kitchen. 4. Which leads me into profiles for bass/treble. Turning the volume up is something most people do in the evening. At night and early morning these need to be quiet. One way to solve this might be able to have volume/base/treble profiles for different times of the day. Or at the very least with the alarm setting. 5. Not everyone wants the sonos blasting out at full volume right at the
When I hit the zone name in the upper right hand corner on my Android App, it would be great to have one click access to sound equalization of that zone right there. Thanks
