Hi. I have just bought a PlayBase and have 2 questions if you can please help!?! 1) how can I connect my Sky Q remote, so that it can control the volume?. I have managed to connect my LG tv remote, so it controls the volume, but not my Sky Q remote which I mainly use. 2) when using a remote to control the volume, is it possible to indicate what level the volume is at on the TV? For example 30% or 100% if it’s at max volume. Thanks Chris
Well we have wireless speakers launched by multiple company's. I recently looked at the Sony speaker with Google Assistance baked in. Why is it that other companies can develop and launch speakers yet Sonos are still languishing with Alexa only. Surely with the resources and experience of Sonos this should have launched by now. I have multiple Sonos speakers, no interest in Amazon Alexa, so if this drags on I will be considered other options. I love my Sonos but it is getting slow to develop. Surprised as last year new CEO highlighted the need to develop and at a greater rate then in the past. Will wait a couple more months then will go elsewhere to expanded my music system. Shame as I was going to get the playbase next.
Recently installed Linksys Velop system, both Sonos and Velop playing with each other very nicely, after configuring like this: (https://community.linksys.com/t5/Velop-Whole-Home-Wi-Fi/How-to-connect-8-port-switch-to-Velop-that-s-wired-for-backhaul/m-p/1191627#M3655) - However...two laptops and a desktop (all running Windows 10) cannot connect to Sonos...4 Android phones, a Controller200 (yes I've had Sonos that long) and an Android tablet can connect fine... This is soooo frustrating! Any ideas?? Tried reinstalling the app etc etc...
I have a Sonos bridge, two play1s and a play 5. My current internet connection is through my cellphone (tethering). I'm wondering how I could configure my system so that I can play the same thing out of all the speakers. Is there a way to do this? If not, is it possible to just have them create a mesh network with eachother (plug them into eachother through ethernet). And then use the line in of the Play 5 to repeat to all the other speakers?
This is for the Google searchers out there. I don't expect this thread to be very relevant in the Sonos Community. I am going to create a guide to essentially allow you to port-forward your Sonos through your Router's firewall and control it whenever you are by visiting a domain/IP through your browser. :) I'll make this as short as possible. Firstly, download node.js (Google search, can't put links in posts) as that provides server-side Javascript that we can use to interact with Sonos away from home. Secondly, download Jishi's HTTP API bridge for Sonos (Google search), and place it into a folder somewhere. In that folder, create a .bat file with the line "npm install --production" and execute it to download the dependencies. Once the dependencies are downloaded, edit the .bat file and replace the line with "npm start" to start the server. When launching the server, make sure your Sonos system is visible to your PC. Check this by going into the Sonos app. Now, to se
The whole My Sonos feature is confusing. The playlists are confusing, and huge graphics which means hardly any playlists can be shown. Was SO hoping the Mac app would get an update, but no such luck. Wait for more reviews before upgrading..... or am I missing something?
Hi Friends! Using the SONOS Controller for Mac app (desktop). When new songs start (on any music service), a pop-up window appears showing the song title/artist. I find this very distracting while working. How do I turn off this "notification" feature? Kind thanks! Linh
I sometimes use the SONOS controller (on a tablet) in environments where the room lights have been dimmed at night and so find the current white background on the contoller very bright and intrusive. Am I missing a setting that can change this, or is there a work around available? If not, are there any plans for SONOS to introduce Skins, or at the very least a dark theme option? Thanks
We have a stereo pairing of Sonos Ones in our kitchen, which is an open space connected to our living room where we recently placed a sound bar. We would like to now reconfigure those Ones to be the surround sound speakers paired to the sound bar. What is the easiest way to reconfigure these to work in that capacity? Thank you.
I have had my first Sonos speakers for a week now...I find the App, controller absolute rubbish. For gods sake there must be a better way. Do something about it...Would have to be the most frustrating piece of rubbish I have used. I’m one step away from demanding my money back from JB HiFi.
Does anyone know if it's possible to do this please? Thanks!
For the last few days (using the Android app on phone, table and Windows app) same problem - searching under Podcasts & Shows for BBC Radio programmes such as "archers" has stopped working and finds nothing. Usually works fine (though the Android app occasionally didn't see the latest episodes unless the Android cache was cleared). Given live streaming is working, and I've ried for 2 Android and 1 Windows app to the same effect I guess the problem isn't on my side?
sonos app unable to connect after iOS 11.2.2 update, despite re-install, etc etc - am still able to control my sonos from devices that have NOT been updated to 11.2.2
What’s the ETA of getting google home assistant integrated into the sonos one?
One of the main reasons we bought the Sonos One was because it was advertised to run on both Alexa and (coming soon) Google Assistant. We bought it before Christmas and are still waiting. At this point, if I can't have both options on my speaker, I'd rather just send it back... and we'll buy both a Google Home and Alexa speakers. What's the deal, Sonos? Either get busy making this work, or stop advertising that you're offering it. Does anybody have an answer as to when this option will be available? And, please not another "coming soon" answer. I want a hard date, otherwise I'm cashing out.
I have just bought my first Play 1. I tried to download the sonos app to an iPad initially IOS 9, an a message came up to say: "Version Unconfirmed. There was a problem confirming if your Sonos controller is up-to-date. If you continue and your controller is not up-to-date, you will be unable to set up certain Sonos Products". I then downloaded the mac desktop controller on my macbook pro and I'm getting the same message. Can anyone advise on this? I am a Sonos virgin so not sure if there is something else i should be doing with the speaker first in preparation? My broadband router is fibre optic and its in the same room as my Play 1's. Thanks in advance.
We have supported Sonos for many years now in our our CQC automation platform (www.charmedquark.com) using the UPnP interface (a lot of work on our part because it wasn't documented per se.) There keep being looming rumors that it's going to be whacked at some point. How do we go about getting access to the new API? I'm sure there's a better place for this, so I'm mainly looking to get pointed in the right direction.
So, after having my own recent issue be pretty much ignored by Sonos, and slightly poo-poo'd by jgatie (no offence taken), I just can't find ANYTHING that remotely resembles a functioning feedback loop for Sonos. This open wound was stinging with much salt poured into it after visiting CES 2018, of which Sonos is going to get their a$$ handed to them if they don't really listen to their customer base soon, and innovate from the suggestions of people that ACTUALLY use their products. I saw the start of it last year, but it's really picking up steam with everyone getting integrated, with a bar, Alexa, etc. etc. I know Chris has tried his hand at a voting thread here (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/wishlist-for-sonos-controller-improvements-6730862/index1.html#post15967003) but it's a hot mess, non-accountable and disorganized. I have no idea what they are working on, what is most wanted, etc. This isn't a slur to Chris by any means and I appreciate
Jeez guys why don't you put an option to rename an album or artist in Sonos playlist? I use my I Pad to control my system but once stored you cannot rename the title. Albums store by album name not artist and it becomes a right muddle the more you store so annoying ?
file sharing is not showing in manage files after I have added through music settings. Recently purchased new router which is fine
I am trying to get to my settings to reset wireless but when I go to the app it tells me I am not on the same wireless network Sonos is on. It tells me to go to settings and wifi. I go to more options and follow the instructions. There is no settings then advanced setting and then wireless set up. It looks like it should be on the home page on the video
Worst update ever despise the control bar at bottom for setting speakers. My speaker settings usually don't change and going into the setting menu is quick and easy. The favorite stations list, I prefer a list view not the icons. Too bad I can set and lock that preference. Music I purchase din Google play does not show up even though I am logged into the account. List of stations do not update in alphabetical order This update is a mess and I will be using my Sons system far less. Heck I may even sell it on ebay or craigslist.
Dear Sonos. Please fix the new UI. I know you hear this a lot and it seems that there are more than a few people that aren’t happy. So here are the specific issues I would suggest you look into. 1. Stop creating more layers. An update should make the users experience more enjoyable and not add extra steps to complete simple tasks. An example would be the tool bar at the bottom. Since this new tool bar is the command Centre in the app why isn’t it accessible on every page at all times? 2. The favorites page. Are you deciding what my most common favorites are or is it just the first on the list? You could have at least gone to the trouble of making this page populate with the ones I use most. That might make some sense. Please stop adding layers and layers of steps for the users to access their music. And why did you leave half the screen blank? You have room there for at least 4 favorites at the current scale or reduce them by half and add 6-8 to the page. A new UI should s
Dance music started playing from Sonos last night when we were in bed, at full volume. Checked Alexa commands and it doesn't seem to be Alexa! What can I do to prevent Sonos waking the family again!!
To make the Sonos account a little more useful, it would be great if I could manage my Sonos playlists online; create/edit/remove a list, and add/remove tracks from a list (by URL to a service I subscribe to). That way, I can "send music home" when I'm not (i.e. update playlist, and notify those at home), and make a "listen at home"-note when I come across music I want to enjoy at home (which sort of duplicates the playlist/favourites function of the music service I use, but nevertheless...)
