One of the main reasons we bought the Sonos One was because it was advertised to run on both Alexa and (coming soon) Google Assistant. We bought it before Christmas and are still waiting. At this point, if I can't have both options on my speaker, I'd rather just send it back... and we'll buy both a Google Home and Alexa speakers. What's the deal, Sonos? Either get busy making this work, or stop advertising that you're offering it. Does anybody have an answer as to when this option will be available? And, please not another "coming soon" answer. I want a hard date, otherwise I'm cashing out.
I have just bought my first Play 1. I tried to download the sonos app to an iPad initially IOS 9, an a message came up to say: "Version Unconfirmed. There was a problem confirming if your Sonos controller is up-to-date. If you continue and your controller is not up-to-date, you will be unable to set up certain Sonos Products". I then downloaded the mac desktop controller on my macbook pro and I'm getting the same message. Can anyone advise on this? I am a Sonos virgin so not sure if there is something else i should be doing with the speaker first in preparation? My broadband router is fibre optic and its in the same room as my Play 1's. Thanks in advance.
We have supported Sonos for many years now in our our CQC automation platform (www.charmedquark.com) using the UPnP interface (a lot of work on our part because it wasn't documented per se.) There keep being looming rumors that it's going to be whacked at some point. How do we go about getting access to the new API? I'm sure there's a better place for this, so I'm mainly looking to get pointed in the right direction.
So, after having my own recent issue be pretty much ignored by Sonos, and slightly poo-poo'd by jgatie (no offence taken), I just can't find ANYTHING that remotely resembles a functioning feedback loop for Sonos. This open wound was stinging with much salt poured into it after visiting CES 2018, of which Sonos is going to get their a$$ handed to them if they don't really listen to their customer base soon, and innovate from the suggestions of people that ACTUALLY use their products. I saw the start of it last year, but it's really picking up steam with everyone getting integrated, with a bar, Alexa, etc. etc. I know Chris has tried his hand at a voting thread here (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/wishlist-for-sonos-controller-improvements-6730862/index1.html#post15967003) but it's a hot mess, non-accountable and disorganized. I have no idea what they are working on, what is most wanted, etc. This isn't a slur to Chris by any means and I appreciate
Jeez guys why don't you put an option to rename an album or artist in Sonos playlist? I use my I Pad to control my system but once stored you cannot rename the title. Albums store by album name not artist and it becomes a right muddle the more you store so annoying ?
file sharing is not showing in manage files after I have added through music settings. Recently purchased new router which is fine
I am trying to get to my settings to reset wireless but when I go to the app it tells me I am not on the same wireless network Sonos is on. It tells me to go to settings and wifi. I go to more options and follow the instructions. There is no settings then advanced setting and then wireless set up. It looks like it should be on the home page on the video
Worst update ever despise the control bar at bottom for setting speakers. My speaker settings usually don't change and going into the setting menu is quick and easy. The favorite stations list, I prefer a list view not the icons. Too bad I can set and lock that preference. Music I purchase din Google play does not show up even though I am logged into the account. List of stations do not update in alphabetical order This update is a mess and I will be using my Sons system far less. Heck I may even sell it on ebay or craigslist.
Dear Sonos. Please fix the new UI. I know you hear this a lot and it seems that there are more than a few people that aren’t happy. So here are the specific issues I would suggest you look into. 1. Stop creating more layers. An update should make the users experience more enjoyable and not add extra steps to complete simple tasks. An example would be the tool bar at the bottom. Since this new tool bar is the command Centre in the app why isn’t it accessible on every page at all times? 2. The favorites page. Are you deciding what my most common favorites are or is it just the first on the list? You could have at least gone to the trouble of making this page populate with the ones I use most. That might make some sense. Please stop adding layers and layers of steps for the users to access their music. And why did you leave half the screen blank? You have room there for at least 4 favorites at the current scale or reduce them by half and add 6-8 to the page. A new UI should s
Dance music started playing from Sonos last night when we were in bed, at full volume. Checked Alexa commands and it doesn't seem to be Alexa! What can I do to prevent Sonos waking the family again!!
To make the Sonos account a little more useful, it would be great if I could manage my Sonos playlists online; create/edit/remove a list, and add/remove tracks from a list (by URL to a service I subscribe to). That way, I can "send music home" when I'm not (i.e. update playlist, and notify those at home), and make a "listen at home"-note when I come across music I want to enjoy at home (which sort of duplicates the playlist/favourites function of the music service I use, but nevertheless...)
I know this has been asked in various ways on here but I can't find a satisfactory answer. I have a Google Home, Play 1 and Play 3 and I dearly want them to be able to link together using the Google Home as voice control for all the speakers. Is this going to be possible at some point? The lack of clarity is putting me off buying a Play 5. Sonos please give us a hint!! 🆒
I have a Logitech Harmony 650 Remote. It will not consistently control the volume. I have increased the IR Repeat. I have unplugged and rebooted the whole system. I have deleted the remote from the Sonos App and re-installed it. The app asked for up 3 times, down 3 times, and mute and said it was good when I did the increase of repeat, removed the remote and reinstalled. Anybody know what I should do? It does work from time to time. The remote controls my TV, my Roku and my dvd player fine.
Are there size limitations to Imported Playlists? I had one playlist of about 20 that would not import. I. Tried and tried variations to get it to import. Only when I split it in three parts did the Imported Playlist work for those titles. The original playlist I created included about 3500 songs.
Is there a way in the Sonos controller to change the order of listing to artist name first, instead of album name first? With over 400 hundred albums ripped to ITunes, it's easier to have the artist name in alphabetical order. The listing is correct in ITunes and Apple Music, but it's reversed in my library in the Sonos controller. Thanks. Loving the Apple Music and Sonos.
Trying to stop everyone logging in and switching the play list, wondering if there is any way to put a password on the system so only those with the code can access the system
My desktop goes to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity (so far, so good). But when it wakes up, the Sonos Contoller for PC (ver 8.2.2) will not reconnect to my Sonos Connect. I have to close and restart it the application. The system is working fine in all other regards. This just a bit annoying.. it would be better if it could rescan the network without having to re-launch it, once the PC wakes up.
Hi, would like to say that I am really happy with recently purchased Play:5 2nd edition - love the ease of use and sound quality. I am using only streaming media (Spotify and di.fm radiostation) and Sonos has some room for improvement there in general usability. This time I would like to ask to add some kind of auto volume level function because songs on the same playlist might be recorded or encoded with different volume level and sometimes I am really tired of adjusting volume up and down after each second song. For example playlist 'All Out 80's' by Spotify having all sort of music and I have noticed that rock usually played much quite than some pop song after it. For example quiet song 'I am gonna be' by The Proclaimers (quiet) against 'Rock Me Amadeus' by Falco (loud) https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/5wDvHZhgPBlWyDEZ3jSMF4 I wonder if anyone else noticed same patterns or if this feature exists somewhere...
Hi everybody, My sonos apps on all my devices keeps shutting down from time to time, has anyone else been having this problem the last few weeks
Sonos Software is so complicate and non intuitive that I'm alwas afraid to touch anything when I got something Working ! Since a few month I use three Play 1 Не is Shuffle all from My Music folder on WDMyclout the two other are Connected to the Same radio Station Now I want to change the Music source for one of the station. Of course this sounds to be very difficult and impossible to do from My Android Mobile App So I go to my Desktop App and Impossible to find or remember how to do it If I right click on the selected Station I have no Menu option to select another Music Source I see so many complains about Sonos Software awfull design that I can not understand why nobody decide to make something better with true Ergonomic Designer and not with geeks sparsing feature here and there with their own tecno focus ! I thing that some consider that the power of a sofware reside in it's difficlty to use or understand !
Please enable searching across all audio sources (Music Library/Streaming Services/Amazon Cloud Player/etc.) in the Windows desktop controller. The ability to do this in the iOS controllers is wonderful--it feels very limited by comparison to have to choose a single source to search within in Windows. Thanks!
I use Spotify and Google Music through Sonos. No local media. I assume this is the way everyone is going or will be going. When playing on Sonos you get the option to Thumbs Up/Down a song as it's playing and it then says that will affect recommendations. But how will it? Is that solely for Sonos and local media or does it affect your Spotify/Google Music recommendations? I thumbed up a song through Sonos thinking it might mirror the thumbs up in Google Music but it didn't. So what did it do? Am I right in thinking nothing at all? If it essentially does nothing for streaming users then can it be changed so a thumbs up/down in Sonos will mirror on the streaming service?
To all, I’m not certain this is the right place to ask this, so please let me know if I should switch to another group. My problem is app connectivity. I purchased 2 Play:1’s, which I set up in my living room as a stereo pair. I have a Linksys router and Netgear range extender because of the distance to the router. When I first set it up, the speakers would cut out fairly often, and the app on my iPhone and on my iPad would lose its connection to Sonos even more often. Because of that I purchased and installed a Boost in my router, connected my speakers to its network, and since then haven’t had any loss of signal with the speakers. However, the problems with my iPhone and iPad are just as bad. Either it takes multiple attempts to change a radio station or open Spotify (with error messages each time), or I get the Sonos opening screen that says I need a wi-fi connection. I still have a strong signal from my network, and my other apps seem to work well on the home networ
I have noticed that the app on my phone, my wife's phone, the iPad and even the iMac has intermittent connection issues. Sometime it discovers the Sonos system and sometimes it does not. I discovered this today when I was trying to add two new Play1 speakers that I just received. To date I have not be able to add the play1's to the system. I have tried the following: 1.) Reboot router 2.) Power down router 3.) Delete app and reinstall Pretty frustrated at this point.
Hello all, I recently purchased a Sonos One, and I am really impressed. Playing local music is a huge plus. I noticed that great care has been taken to make the iOS controller app accessible via VoiceOver. Unfortunately, this is not so true for the Mac version. Most of the buttons are not labelled, however they do have VoiceOver hints, such as Crossfade, Play, etc. Apart from this, it is a quite huge issue that all lists, including the search results, the source selection, etc, are not visible to VoiceOver at all. This essentially makes the Mac version unusable. Would it be possible to enhance the UI in this area please? I would be happy to beta test, and give you further information, if needed. Erion
