Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Not sure when this happened but last night I tried playing some music from my Sonos favorites (sourced from Amazon) and it wouldn't play. Gave the error "Requested operation failed. Please try again". I went under settings and services to remove and reauth my Amazon account but that didn't fix it. What else can I do?
In the app, if you submit a diagnostic report, it should ask you if you want to also create a support ticket. I usually do one after the other anyways.
The alarm feature doesn't seem to work as well after the latest update (version 9.2) (at least not on the Android app interface). I can still set the alarm, and it goes off at the right time, but i no longer have the options to snooze or dismiss the alarm, which is pretty annoying. On the app it just appears as if a song is playing. Anyone else aware / have issues with this? Is that a fix coming for this?
I am using my iPad to access the Sonos app. I am trying to listen to an album and the songs keep skipping to the next song before they are done??
Just got a ChromeBit for the home office, so I can browse to Facebook and other sites blocked by my work laptop, and not have to deal with its VPN, which doesn't let me cast to my home network. Found out quickly that casting to a CCA from a browser tab sounds like crap from just about any source. They must be using a VERY highly compressed, very low bitrate stream, it's choppy and full of artifacts. Not good. Found this Chrome extension called "Add To Sonos Queue". Enabled it, set the IP address to my left Sonos Play:1 in the Office. Navigated to SoundCloud, picked an album, hit the button, and it added the current album, all songs, to the Office Play:1s' playlist. The "Play" button in the browser wouldn't work, but I just asked the Office Echo Dot to "Play", and it started. Full fidelity, as the browser and ChromeBit are out of the picture, just Sonos directly from SoundCloud. Pretty slick.
I've been a Sonos user for 4 years, yet still the same issues recur. Once again I have the unable to add music folder \\Computer Name\Music with error 1002.. This was working great just a few days, now it doesn't. The Sonos account has full access permissions to the folder on my Windows 10 and there have been no Windows updates installed since Sonos was last working. To say this is infuriating is a gross understatement. Sonos has a great product, when it works but it it not reliable. I've restarted my laptop. my router and the Sonos, no change. I have a new set up at home where I have two WIFI networks running. Let's call one PARENTS and one KIDS. I have the KIDS on a schedule so it shuts down at 9PM and comes back on at 6AM. It is no different than the PARENTS WIFI network in that it can access all LAN resources. My 3 CONNECTs are connected via direct Ethernet LAN connection. I believe that all my other SONOS speakers (3 Play:1, 1 Play:3, 1 Soundbar, 1 Sub) are connected via SONOSNET. My android phone is connected to the PARENTS WIFI and that is how I set up the connection to find the SONOS when initially setting it up. Shouldn't other devices (iPhone, Android Tablets) that are connected via the KIDS WIFI network be able to talk to the SONOSNET since they are on the same LAN connection even though they are connected to a different WIFI network (e.g. KIDS)?
Hi. When raising volume above about 75% it lowers itself down to roughly 75% again. It does this in Sonos App and in Spotify connect. Extremely annoying What to do?
the sonos pc app stores your favourites alphabetically - how can you change the order to your own choice?
How often annually does Sonos update the applications? It seems that every time I turn on Sonos app (PC or Android), it is always wanting to do an update. This has become more and more frequent. Yes, I'm also aware of "auto update" which works if the PC is left on at night.
When i play music from the Sonos app (like spotify), When i shut down the window and then wake it up again "Now playing" is not showing. I can only change volume to go into the Sonos app and from there change the volume with the iphone buttons. I thought that i could do like Spotify app does, that you can wake upp the phone and change volume without to have go into the app?
Hi Let's say i'm having a party, and my Sonos is playing the music. Many of my guests are friends that earlier has gotten access to my WiFi. During the party, these guests could download Sonos Controller/app, connect to Sonos, and start controlling the music. There is no way in Sonos controllers to set a password, to avoid this behaviour. Other workarounds would be setting up a guest WiFi network that doesn't have access to Sonos, but this would require a new router (in som cases), or change my original password in my entire existing network, which would be annoying ;) Are there any plans to add this feature? Maybe even a possibility to require a password for each Sonos device (tick box in controller preferences for each device?) Am i missing something, other than keeping my guests sober and not annoying 😃
When will true tune be available for android products?
Sonos please task one of your engineers with adding a password option to the Sonos system just like Apple has done with their Homepods! Airplay2 is a game changer when it comes to an open system like Sonos because any device with Airplay2 capability can take control of a sonos system without intentionally installing the Sonos app. While this is convenient on some networks it is a royal pain in the arse for others. Take my home network as an example. I have two wireless networks - one for the family and one for guests. The guest network has no access to Sonos which is great. But everyone on the family network can control any speaker in the Sonos system because there is no way to secure them. Unfortunately I can't put them on a separate subnet due to the shared media and backup servers. Sure, I ask them not to connect to certain speaker and groups, but they don't see the harm in having the house filled with their cool tunes while I'm at work. Can't really blame them but it causes
Will there be any chance, that Sonos will support Apple HomeKit in the future?
I have searched around with no luck. I am looking for a basic controller app user manual or tutorial - NOT the limited sub-topic-specific videos. I would like to just take the time to go through all the features of the app (ios in my case) at once.
At low listening volume settings, speaker drivers benefit from the use of loudness filters (or manual tone controls). The Sonos "Loudness" works very well with my Play 5's and Sub, but I need to open software to operate the switch and to de activate it. Relaxed, quiet listening would be really enjoyable if there was an option for users to set a minimum volume at which the filter switches on, or starts to take effect gradually as volume settings are reduced. Is there such an option built into the Sonos software?
Not an initial setup -- I've been using Sonos on a Mac and iPhone for weeks, now the Mac controller is being denied access to the iTunes music library. Problem started after I installed the most recent Mac update (10.9.2) on the laptop. I've checked permissions, removed and tried to re-add the library, restarted router, etc.
I keep getting a message saying I have Sonos notifications on my iMac however I cannot see anywhere they might be held on the Sonos desktop (for Mac).
Hi I got Sonos Play:1 speaker and trying to get it to work with SonosTube iPhone app but gettitng an error code 2 message saying “SonosTube failed to play the video on iPhone/ iPad. Reopen the SonosTube app.” I tried restarting the app 3-4 times but no luck. Does anyone know what this error is about and how to resolve it ? PS: speaker works fine with same iPhone using Sonos Controller app. Thanks, Vishal
Not as much talk about yesterdays sonos anouncment as I would have expected from such a passionate community. So what are people thinking? Obviously Amazon Echo has impacted SONOS but how do you go from hiring new people and planning a retail store to cutting staff? What's next ? Should we be concered about making more current investments in sonos hardware (I really want to buy a sub)? People have been posting for months about voice support and for years about DTS. The standard response is sonos doesn't comment on future enhancements or new products. We know what we have today and there pretty darn good products but we all want to be excited and look forward to what's coming next.
So I now have a Nuimo, not the one I ordered still but I have one. I will do a more detailed considered review but there are my first impressions:- Build quality is superb, almost to the point of over engineering. The rotate volume ring is just SO smooth with a great weighting too. Click top is good and the swipe gestures work well on the capacative screen. The "fly" gesturing is hit and miss. You should be able to wave you hand in the airspace above the unit to move tracks and change volume. This needs some more work as it is too easy to get to full volume and get stuck there. Yet to get it to change tracks with the gestures. Learnings:- The Nuimo is paired to your phone so you have to have that with you to control the sonos units. The controls are currently limited to Play, Pause, Skip forward and back and then Volume. You can use it for more than one sonos speaker or group, although I am not sure how to switch yet. Some Improvements due:- The sonos icon is a
I recently set up two Sonos connects to control my existing home speaker system. I have already had lots of issues with my WiFi so we have multiple WiFi networks throughout our home to have everyone on a good connection. However when it comes to Sonos it appears to only be able to be on one WiFi network. The network doesn’t reach either connect with that great of a signal. The problem arises that while I’m walking around my house the app seems to lose connection or can’t find the system. So my question is would it be better to buy a boost or is this a WiFi networking problem that I need to fix with wireless access points? Also would wiring one of the connects help this?
I'd like to use the Sonos app on my Mac to play my music through the computers built in speakers.
My Sonos app works great one day and then doesn’t work the following it is driving me crazy
