Is it possible to use the iPhone volume keys to control the Sonos app volume?
I can see this topic has been raised multiple times previously, so I'm surprised it has never been addressed by Sonos: for music stored on a phone, why is there no folder view? It is a simple programming fix included by multiple other music apps. The included Artist/Album/etc views are useless, given that the app is very sensitive to ID tagging differences and splits some albums into multiple albums (for instance if 1 song on an album is tagged as "pop" and another is tagged as "alternative", they appear as separate albums). Also, mix albums get split over multiple artists. A folder view allows users who care about the organization of their music (a user base which highly correlates with users wanting high quality speakers like Sonos) to control their listening experience, which is the point of technology. This missing feature makes me regret having switched to the Sonos ecosystem (I have wasted hours on workarounds, including re-tagging my music, only for Sonos to find some ot
Hi! I would like to know if there is any support for Linux as OS on laptops. Could you provide a howto to get Sonos running under Linux? Thanks!
Hello, When can we expect a native Linux controller?
I have a Brilliant light switch controller in our master bathroom. It controls the lights and the Sonos ConnectAmp in our master bedroom, that drives speakers in the master bedroom and another pair in the master bathroom (using a Niles speaker selector). If I use the iOS app to move from one playlist to another, I'm asked if I want to add to or replace the queue. When I select a new playlist from the Brilliant device (it only displays my "favorites", so I can only choose playlists listed as favorites), it automatically adds to the queue, so I get a mix of playlists. This is annoying since playlists are collections of songs that are part of a theme (for example, you may have a hard rock playlist and an acoustic guitar playlist). Typically, when you choose a playlist to listen to, you want to listen to that particular group of songs - rarely will you want to mix playlists. Sonos should give you the following options when you change from one playlist to another: (1) always
The controller installed on my PC is not recognizing any SONOS components! The handset controller and the controller on my android phone are working fine. I have checked the firewall and un-ticked the boxes as recommended. Ricky Hay
My Android Sonos app continuously doesn't connect to existing speakers. Seldomly, it actually does work. Most of the time it doesn't. My wife's iPhone Sonos app is working seamlessly and fine. So something is going on with Android????? We've had this speaker system for the past 6 months, but the past few days my connectivity (through my app) to my speakers has only worked about 10% of the time. Please advise. Bugs with Android all of a sudden???
So, I got the new iPad Pro a few weeks ago, and a few new Play:1 speakers shortly after. It tells me the iPad doesn't support Trueplay tuning, and gives me a link to check, but all that says is that the pro is supported. Any ETA for when I can tune my new speakers? It's kind of annoying not being able to.
I have been a Sonos user, and have spent a LOT of money on their products since 2005. I have posted a few high priority, low difficulty suggestions over the years, and have watched *many, many* others do the same, and have not ever seen a SINGLE suggestion implemented. Can anyone name a single user-submitted suggestion that has been implemented by Sonos ?
Is there any API could be used to retrieve speaker software firmware version?
Is there any way to turn off the pop-ups that appear every time a new song plays on the (MAC) desktop controller? Nothing in "Preferences" seemed to offer the option.
The sonos app is almost always the app that uses the most battery on my iPhone. I barely use it to put the music on sometimes, but even in the background it drains battery. Today it was 32% of my battery usage and I only used it one or twice.
2 Issues here: - 1st issue is that our volume keeps increasing on its own. I can sit at the computer with the SONOS program open, and watch the bar jump up to max volume on its own. I try to slide it back down and watch it happen again. 4 days in a row now, so becoming an issue. Another thing to note is that I have no other controllers - I only use SONOS through my laptop. - 2nd issue: I used to be able to control the volume on all three of my speakers separately - I could click on the volume control button and it would drop down showing me the three speakers with their own volume control bar next to them. Now I can only edit the volume as a group. Is there anything I can do to alter the volume on each speaker on its own?
Can anyone help, I am using a Play:3 with the Sonos Mac Controller, the Next/ Previous buttons on my keyboard work fine, but the volume control does not register at all. I am about to wall mount the speaker and will be in trouble if I can not control the volume from my computer??
What were your designers and approvers thinking when you updated the app, creating such an AWFUL user experience? I am seriously considering switching to a different brand. FIX IT!!!!
My room setting fell out of my app. How do add a room there are no options?
I am having issues with my Sonos system that seems to have started after the latest update? It does not matter what device I use to control the system...PC based, tablet based, phone based, wired or wireless connectivity, and do have a bridge connected wired. The system has worked perfectly for two+ years and just started having issues recently. It starts fine but might “crossfade” midstream during a song or just stops, then may start again after a while or just stops and I see the error message "unable to connect to Sonos player"? I have rebooted my router and bridge a few times but nothing changes. The player may play for a few songs then start acting up or may play for longer. I have 4 Play 5 speakers, one Play 3 speaker, a Sonos Amp and the bridge, and was looking at adding the PlayBar, but am holding off for now. And after having enjoyed my Sonos system without issue for a few years, I was wondering if the latest update is c
I recently bought a Beam which I am very happy with. It sounds great paired with my Sub and two Play 1s. My assumption was that I could then use the same Sub in the same room to listen to music with my two Play 5s as I have done for the past 2 years and been very happy. In order to do this Sonos support told me that I could unpair the Sub from the Beam and two Play 1s and then pair it with the two Play 5s. All good, although a bit of a clunky way to do it. The much bigger problem is that I have to re-do the Trueplay each time I swap over the Sub. As I have a room without carpet, lots of windows and a bit of an odd shape, I rely on Trueplay to make my Sonos system 'sing' (Trueplay - fantastic addition btw Sonos). I do not have time or the quiet house to do this each time I want to swap it over. I asked Sonos to put a request in for me to develop a fix for multiple Trueplay configs for my one Sub and they advised that they would pass on my request but that I should raise this in this for
I love my Sonos systems (multiple speakers). Sound is great, listening over WIFI is terrific. I'm not having so much luck with setting up my playlists. I would like to have Sonos playlists, but find creating them a challenge. Please enable drag and drop (e.g. from the queue) into a playlist. For instance, I'd like to select multiple songs from the queue and drop them into a playlist. Adding songs one at a time is tedious. I know I can drag and drop to the queue, which helps. What would help enormously is the ability to edit existing Sonos playlists with D&D. thanks a bunch!
I don’t want to go and buy any new tablet if I have to at the moment. Not working due broken leg in July. My X-10 home control app on the iPad is no longer available on Apple Store, but it is on Android Play Store. I was given a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 GT-P3110, with Android Version 4.2.2 But that can’t run the Sonos App So I am still ‘screwed’ I now need the iPad for Sonos and the Android for the TIP10RF app for the X-10 So this old Tab2 is too old for Sonos as it can’t upgrade the OS any more. What Android OS do I need for Sonos App ? Looking for a used Android Tablet, but need to know what to look for.
I'd very much would like to control (or at least monitor) my Sonos system over VPN. I can control my lighting and HVAC via Lutron and my IP cameras but it appears that the Sonos iOS app only functions over the device's wireless interface (network). All that is required is a change to allow the Sonos app to use any network, wifi or otherwise. This could be implemented as a enumerated list in the app's settings where the user could enable or disable (on or off slider) each network type and then sort the list to establish a priority. I understand that there would be a delay if for example, my primary network was wifi but I was currently connected remotely via VPN, I would have to wait for discovery via wifi to timeout before the app would begin searching via VPN. This would be acceptable to me. Thanks!
Why can my nieghbor play my Sonos speakers from his home without my permission?
We have commercial SONOS customers that rely on the desktop app to control their system, as there is no WiFi available for mobile devices. I cannot for a minute think we are the only SONOS customers in this predicament. The latest desktop application does not allow any system management at all. We need SONOS to release a new version that will restore system management. My discussions with SONOS support were unsatisfactory to say the least, but they did suggested starting a thread to round up support for a revised controller. So come on people, lets get the ball rolling!
Sonos to play an MP3 or Radio Station from VB.NET
well, sort of 😉 Just thought that I would share this with the community - I am running a sonos controller from my web browser under linux ! happy times I just installed an extension called "arc welder" (https://developer.chrome.com/apps/getstarted_arc) into my chrome browser. Arc welder lets you run android apps in your chrome browser and guess what ? the 5.3.1 apk of sonos controller for android works a treat go forth, run your sonos controller under linux. at last. All features of the android controller seem to work perfectly. Julian
