Hi everyone, I currently have a few Sonos devices at home but still use a traditional amp with my legacy hi-fi system. The only reason I would consider the new Sonos Amp is to avoid the hassle of starting up my amp each time I want to listen music on my hi-fi system. Currently, although I could always let my amp on, I do not do it as it heats up significantly when on. Turning it on is quite painful, especially as it requires a few seconds of warm-up before I can select an input source. So here's my question: is the Sonos Amp designed to be always on? or at least, is it appropriate to have it always on? Is there a smart feature that prevents it from heating up when in standby? How does it handle speakers when in standby? Is there no current/ sound at all or can you hear an indistinctive white noise? Thanks for your help!
Hi! I have play 1s and a play 5 setup over 4 rooms. My 3 yr old keeps fiddling with my phone and starts playing music in one room or the other at odd hours. Is it possible to password protect each room individually?
I have two Sonos Play1’s on the same network. The Sonos app sees both players as separate rooms, and currently, the app can play the Sonos in either room (as expected) What I would like to be able to do is to add an additional level of security so that anyone using the app to play music would have to add a password or something similar to play music in a specific room. The reason I need this functionality is because the two Sonos Play1’s I have, although they are connected to the same network, they are in different buildings. So with the current set up, someone in Building 1 (Room1) is also able to play the Sonos system in Building 2 (Room2), which is clearly a problem! If there is a solution to this problem, could you please advise.
i know that it's possible to achieve this by creating a playlist with a single song in it, but this is bonkers. almost every single alarm app you can download give you the option of choosing a song you'd like to wake up to. it's the most obvious thing someone would want in an alarm app. most also include a slow increase in volume to some threshold and a repeat, so that it doesn't turn off if you don't wake up. it shouldn't include a ton of extra keystrokes if i just want an alarm to wake me up with a specific song in the morning.
I was told to post this in the community. Who do i have to contact to talk about adding an option to add LINE-IN to the FAVORITES MENU Thanks, Sonos is awesome!
The Sonos control app for android sucks on Android, it's horrible on Chromebooks. My set up works, for now, luckily. Many others aren't so lucky. I need 2 new speakers to fill out my home... I've been waiting to see if Sonos would get it together and fix this ongoing major gap in support. Do I have to ditch my Play 5 and get another system? Hint: All you have to do is say we will have a Chromebook app soon OR we are never going to make one. That's all!!!!!!
In Spotify web player, albums are sorted by artist in alphabetical order. In Sonos the ordering of saved Spotify albums seems random, so you just have to scroll through everything until you find the one you want, which sucks. Seems like pretty basic functionality to me and really lame that it doesn't already exist.
So I'm sitting in my living room. No music is playing, I'm home alone. Suddenly, a completely unfamiliar artist from a genre I virtually never listen to (hip-hop) starts playing with increasing volume. I quickly pull up my phone, go to my Google Wifi to see who's on the network - nothing unusual. The source in my Sonos app is Spotify, as I manage to turn down the volume and turn the music off. A look at https://www.sonos.com/myaccount/products/ reveals no new / recent additions, although I'd like the option to revoke/remove software. Any idea what could have happened? It sounds like either someone connected to my Sonos account somehow or perhaps managed to hijack my Spotify account. I have no suspicious activity in Spotify either and as mentioned, no one else was on the network at the time either. Thanks
Does Sonos is planning an update for Android users to be able to listen video streaming services through Sonos speakers. Reference: I just bought 3 Sonos One speakers.
kiss is my goal but per the usual app gyrations, Sonos app is anything but simple, for me. As the Dao talks about, everyone else is sharp, I alone am dull and have no end of confusion using this system. How do I find my likes across several devices that I use to control my play1 and 5? I’m talking real basic here as playlists and likes are scatter across 3 iOS, 1 Android, and one iMac.
If I have 3 sets of speakers connected to one Sonos Amp (living, kitchen and bedroom) Can I play different music through the seperate speakers Can I select to play sound through only one set of speakers ? Cheers Andy
I am having difficulty clearing what is being played in a room or rooms. It is causing other devices to not be able to play or override what was last played in a given room. Ultimately we can get it to work, but just seems like it’s a challenge. Any others experiencing this?
Hi, I'm very excited about Sonos, and recently upgraded AV Receivers to be able to seamlessly switch inputs from CD/DVD/Phono/Sonos while using the Autoplay function in Sonos. Fantastic idea, (and very surprised not everyone's doing this), BUT I find that my system is no longer in sync (the Sonos P3's and P5 are ahead of the sound coming through the Connect via Hifi). I did not have this issue with the lower end Denon 1911, but I do now with the 3313. I can add delay with the 3313, but that doesn't help me since it's the other Sonos modules that are ahead of the Denon. Adding the possibility of adding delay (in addition to the required 70ms for processing) would make my system whole again.
My speaker system turns itself on without being prompted. This occurs day and night, but night blaring music frightens me and is persistent. At least during the day I can turn it off. There are no alarms set and I think this is a software issue. This has been happening ever since I bought the speakers and the only way to correct is unplugging the entire system. I suspect Sonos software is just plain bad, but would love a better explanation.
I have created a few Sonos playlists and I would like to copy the playlist songs to an SD card for playing in the car. I've searched and searched but all references I find refer to uploading songs or playlists to Sonos, I cannot find any references to how to download/export a playlist to other devices. Is this possible? And if not is this a feature that can be considered for future updates? It is an incredibly simple feature to implement so I am amazed it hasn't already been implemented, and it seems a shame to spend so much time building playlists in Sonos that I can't make use of on other devices. Just to clarify, all the songs I want to download/export are on my network, i.e. I'm not talking about downloading anything from any streaming services. Thanks Mark
For some reason the account listed on the app on my phone is for my husband. I have no idea how this happened and neither does he. He doesn't know his password. I need to switch to my account on the app on my iPhone because under his account only 2 of our subs show up and we can't add anything without him being signed in. Also, we need to use my account because he doesn't have pandora without commercials and I do. You would think it would be easy to switch account of who is logged in - but this seems impossible!
I create Sonos Playlists from songs from Napster. Randomly, I will try to play a song in the Playlist and I will get a "Unable to Play...lost connection to Napster". I will go into the Playlist and see that about 12-15 songs have a black icon next to them (no record cover graphic) and these are the songs that will not play. I have to go and redownload every one of these songs back into the playlist and remove the "bad" song with the black disc icon. This has been a problem for years and I have been on the phone with both Napster and Sonos Support. This appears to be a Sonos problem as I have no problem playin the same songs through Napster on my laptop. When will this be fixed??? There are numerous posts from the community on this issue going back 4 years!!!!
Hello sonos! At this moment we use a wake up light where the light fades in really slowly. We would like to have the same option with or songs set-up. So an option for the alarm function in the app where we can set an amount of time for the music to reach a certain volume! Please make this 🙂
On my Samsung S9 I have the option to add a widget to my home screen for easier access which is great....when it actually works. I mainly used it for quick access to night mode and speech enhancment but for some reason this has intermittantly stopped working, sometimes when you go to switch NM or SE on or off they just dont work and you have to go into the app to do it. Once you have been in to the app though the buttons on the widget work again. It seems that if you force close the app this is what stops the widget from working. Is there anyway to officially report this as I find it pretty convenient having those options on the widget, just need the EQ options and level adjustments (surr+sub) on there as well and that would be perfect.
I can no longer access my SONOS controller on my laptop (where I manage all the music) because it is asking me to register my speakers (don't know why all of a sudden) but it is not under my email address - somehow it has become my husbands email address. I have no option to change it back to me. I cannot get access to to my controller now on my laptop. My husband was trying to add a Playbar and updated his controller on his iPhone when this happened. How do I get Sonos to work again and ensure I am the email address it is registered to. Am desperate as I have party on weekend and use my lap top to manage all my music, make play lists and own music for performances then I update onto to SONOS. My husband is away and clueless. I need help urgently.
Hi all, Do we know of, or have any inclination if there is or could be a Sonos app added to the Playstation network?
Will there ever be an option to play everything made by one artist, instead just the option to play just one album?
Have you ever pressed the play button and Sonos thinks and then nothing happens? No music - nothing. It just goes back to show the "play" arrow. It's like groundhog day. I do it all over again and get the same result. This is odd - it was working just fine yesterday :S
Get error message “cannot add songs to Queue” and sometimes code 701 when trying to play from any source. Have done resets galore. Submitted diagnostic. #135648292
