Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Spotify and YouTube Music have this function where, while listening to new music, you can thumbs up and thumbs down. If you like it goes to your liked songs playlist. If you don’t it skips to next song and tunes the upcoming songs in the future so its closer to your tastes. This works great but while using SONOS there’s no way to do this directly through its app. It should be, it is tremendously useful.
I have two Sonos One SL speakers and a Vizio 58” Class V TV (model V585-G1). The TV has Apple AirPlay 2. I would like to use AirPlay 2 to play video content on the screen and audio through the Sonos, but can’t seem to get it to work. Is this possible?
I can’t believe that Sonos can’t support older OS’s a little more. Using my two year old Onkyo Music Player with services and I can not even change the user name and passwords to my music services like SiriusXM. I am forced to update even though the older software works fine. I wonder how long before I can not even play Sonos on my Music Player? I have it set up at work. I was planning on setting up Sonos for my home. Now I will be looking for something a little more user friendly.
I installed a new Blue Curve Router and was able to get Sonos up and working on my iPhone but not my Mac. The instructions don’t work because I can’t find how to update my network setting in the app on my Mac. I tried attaching an ethernet cable (which I didn’t have with my previous set up but that didn’t help my Mac.) How can I update my network settings in my Sonos app on my Mac?
I can’t say enough good about the Sonos speakers but I am truely disappointed with he complete lack of attention Sonos pays to improving the Sonos app for iPad / iPhone & Apple in general. For some time I have been unable to play music from my iPad through the Sonos app to the Sonos speakers, I love the speakers so much I have foolishly accepted this SIGNIFICANT shortfall. Until recently I had resorted to simply enjoying streamed music through SiriusXM radio subscription on the speakers. Recently I am having consistent issues with streaming SiriusXM through the app. I am so frustrated with the apparent lack of support for Apple devices I am thinking I need to replace my Sonos with a system I can use my Apple devices on. Not surprising this forum topic has been closed! Please tell me Sonos will someday WAKEUP to this serious deficiency in their system.
I have a strange situation with the Sonos app on my Android phone. My album art does not show up when I go to “On this Mobile Device → Albums”. All I get is a box with a music note and the title of the album and artist below the box. However, when I play songs the album art shows up. Any idea how to get the album art to show up with any selection?
Why isn’t Sonos keeping up with the times and allowing mobile devices to create playlists? For personal use mobile devices, tablets, phones, etc. are taking over our computing world. Computers, and other devices such as NAS are not as common as they were 5 years ago. I have read in previous posts that a NAS could be used for storing my music and a playlist created from that. However, the starting cost of a NAS is approaching the cost of my Sonos 1. I store all my music on my phone, about 40 gb. This is a compilation of music for 30+ years. My phone is always with me and on when I try and play music from my Sonos 1. It is the only device I plan to use to control my Sonos 1. I do have my music on my computer as well, but my computer is not always turned on, and it goes to sleep after 15 minutes without activity when it happens to be turned on. I have tons of music and it becomes more difficult when I can’t create playlists. Searching for specific albums and putting them in a 1 ti
Hi! Why can't I finde Nextory on music services? :)
Does anyone else have tablets in their house that they use to display (and control) their Sonos music? I would be interested in what a “kiosk mode” would look like for at least the Now Playing screen. Some ideas: Album art is the hero visual Artist and track text easily visible at a distance Large tap targets for track and volume Easy access to adding/removing rooms Optimized landscape layout Anyone else interested or have similar ideas?
I was alerted that a new update was available. I upgraded the the system as such, and then my Windows controller prompted to be updated, so I went a long. As the update was running I was reading a mail, when all of a sudden I'm looking at a monochrome screen with some rotating dots and the text "Restarting". Checking Windows event log I did indeed find this: The process msiexec.exe has initiated the restart of computer SOMMERWALD on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x80030002 Shutdown Type: restart Comment: The Windows Installer initiated a system restart to complete or continue the configuration of 'Sonos Controller'. So there can be reasons to reboot when installing. Not that I see why it would be required with a simple desktop application, but OK. However, rebooting without asking me is highly insincere!
This may be cheesy to some, but I'd like to be able to search within a Sonos playlist, know if a certain song was in a Sonos playlist or be able to sort a Sonos playlist. Is this part of the functionality of the app and I missed it? I run the app on my Surface Pro (Windows 10) and Galaxy S7.
I used to be able to use Crossfade on my speaker however now it’s just blurred out after doing an update on the app. Any suggestions on how I can use it? It’s for Spotify
Hi, I’ve added an URL to a German radio station (Antenne Bayern official URL: http://www.antenne.de/webradio/antenne.m3u) to the TuneIn radio station list. Listening works perfectly well, but each time when turning on one of my Play:1 devices for first time of the day (maybe later too) to listen to this radio station, I first get a short ad that interrupts the current live radio stream. To be precise, the ad plays first and after some seconds, the radio station program starts. One can distinguish this annoying ad from the normal broadcasting, because when the ad streaming finishes, the currently broadcast song continues somewhere in the middle or the presenters start speaking somewhere in the middle of a sentence. Those ads are not part of the radio station program. While I can understand that TuneIn tends to earn some money for its free services, I do not understand why those ads also appear when using the freely available official Antenne Bayern app, that I can add from the Sonos app
This has bugged me since I first bought my Sonos Connect. My friend got a Bluesound Node and it has no issues with such a simple task, you got sorting options. I read Sonos is blaming the streaming services everytime someone asks. But since Bluesound solved it… It can't be impossible to fix, can it? I bought the Connect to try Sonos out. Now I'm about to invest in equipment for my entire house and if Sonos can't listen to their customers, I have no other option than to sell my Connect and buy Bluesound equipment. People have been asking for this many, many years! What's so difficult?
I just got a new Samsung Watch and was wondering if there is an App for the watch?
Hello; I’m also getting the same message, Sonos no longer supported on my Samsung Galaxy Android OS. I read others with this problem have version 4, but I have version 5.1.1 OS, and I’ve had this device about a year. How can my OS be obsolete already?? Advice please!! Thanks. Stef 11
Music library on Google Drive - is it possible and how?I would like to place my music on Google Drive and access it from Sonos app, but how do i address the music folder on my Google Drive in the app?
Good morning I’ver been a Sonos user for a long time, initially to allow my to play my CD collection from my hard drive. I now have Sonos in 8 rooms and use it with my Spotify and Apple Music services, but I would like to create a separate Sonos set up, to run in parallel with my existing installation, that would JUST play music from my hard drive. I would like to use a much earlier version of the desktop controller, perhaps on it’s own dedicated computer, and not have it nag me to upgrade every time I use it. Initially I would be happy to use this in one room only. Can anyone advise me on what would be involved in achieving this goal? TIA Milt
Is there a way to adjust the Bass on MOVE?
I have an old Droid Turbo. A Sonos notification popped up yesterday stating "Stopping the service may affect Sonos homescreen widgets.". And a link to Stop Service. There was an update, which I have now installed, but the notification remains. I can't clear it. I restarted my phone. Still there.Anyone know why it's there and how to clear it..? I didn't generate it.Thanks!
How do I select to play all songs by an artist or composer? Currently, Sonos seems to limit me to only playing the Artist's/Composer's songs by album or individual song.
Making it as simple as possible and with all the ideas over the years .... if Sonos could do this I think there would be a lot of happy people and it would be a good selling point. Call it Jukebox Mode - put a marketing spin on it. In the More ... menu put an option "Jukebox Mode Enable/Disable". Make it very easy for someone to see it is enable or not and this would be best place vs. an icon in the queue. And not buried in settings menu. When someone enables you can put a pop up box showing what the option does. When you enable Jukebox mode .... On all the selecting music screens clicking on either the song name or the ... button does the same thing. Brings up menu option that only gives option to Play Next or Add to End of Queue. Those are the only options people are given. That would satisify 90% of needs when it comes to a party mode. Don't worry with disabling rooms, disabling volume control etc. Those aren't big deals. The big deals are people select
I can play music on my play:1 system but not the connect - it has disappeared. My phone can connect to and play on both systems. There were no problems before Catalina. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac app.
I have an iPod Touch. Can the music files on the iPod be connected/played on a Sonos system? How would I go about connecting the iPod Touch to a Sonos system?
Are you able to connect your turntable to the Sonos Amp ‘line in’ input and play music from vinyl to either a play 1,3 or 5 that is on your wireless network. Vic
