Is there a way to quickly list the most recently added albums to the local library?
It would be nice if we were able to schedule when the night mode and dialogue modes are on and off like when you set alarms. We always use both modes in the evening and only dialogue during daytime. Now I have to turn night mode on and off every evening on my phone which is a little annoying to me. I would rather have them automatically turn on during specific hours and turn them off manually the few times I don't want to use them in the evening.
I have just run the v10.2 update and aside from it completely messing up the integration and control between Sonos, Spotify and Alexa which i've now sorted after 2 hours of trying to put back to how it was. The option to turn off the wake chime seems to have now disappeared from the Sonos app, has this function now been removed? MJ

How to get Spotify infomarting using Crestron Sonos Module i am able to get the favourites but not the spotify playlist or any other radio services
Does anyone know if it's possible for two users in the same household to login into a single account and control their music separately? Thanks Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. Her you can find additional information regarding this: Use multiple accounts for the same music service
So we have friends here for vacation, and they are disappointed because it is not as simple as a bluetooth speaker to broadcast music in my house... you have to download the Sonos app, log in with my complicated password and then they find the app complicated (too many rooms, not used to my music service, difficult to find the tune they want...) and mess up the whole thing. Is there an easy way to have a guest broadcast a tune to a sonos system that I don't know ?
I’ve had a play 1 in storage since we are building a house. I never had good performance from the speaker. Using the iPhone app songs would skip, stop or not even play. I still want to play music stored on my iPhone. I’m hesitant to try and set it up again knowing how poorly it performed before. Has the app been improved any? If not, I’m tempted to just try and sell the play 1 and be done with Sonos.
Hi - Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m running Mac Catalina 10.15.2 and would like an equalizer for my Sonos system to enhance my Sonos Sub (especially) as well as other speakers in the system. I’ve been unable to find one and could use your help. Thanks in advance
Currently use iTunes on MacBook for all my music. Plan on adding a NAS. How can I organize my music, without using iTunes. Is the there software to organize? I liked to be able to easily find selections and have playlist. Thanks Joe
My Sonos Controller says it needs to update to 10.6 but won't. I'm running latest Mac OS (Catalina) on a imac. System works fine on other devices and lets me update controller on them (Mac and android) but not the imac. Any suggestions? system is a dock, sonos 1 and 3.
I have just bought myself a Sonos Sub and am very impressed over the effect it has on the music in general and of course when watching Movies. However to evaluate the effect and to show the difference with and without the sub you have to dig deep in the settings to find the switch for enabling and disabling the sub. I would like to have a more direct way of enabling and disabling the sub - if possible directly in the player interface. Further more it would be great to be able to create time slots, where the sub can be full active, less active or completely off automatically. This way the rest of the House will still be able to sleep, while I watch movies or listen to music. What do you think of that idea? - please comment if you have better ideas for this feature. Thank you in advance! /Henrik
I have all of my music on my iPhone and prefer to play it from my iPhone on my Sonos. From what I have been reading, I can’t play it that way anymore. I have to either play it through my computer, a music streaming service or a NAS device. i do NOT want my computer on all the time. I don’t want to pay an additional fee for a music streaming service. I bought and own all of my music. There has to be a way to play the music I purchased from my iPhone to my Sonos speakers without having to pay an additional fee to listen to my iPhone, music and Sonos speakers I already paid for and own. How can I do this?
I know there are other threads about this but I have not found any solution. It is impossible to properly play music from my iPhone music library to my Sonos speakers. The songs skip midway through, then skip and skip without even playing, then just stop playing all together. Yes, I have done everything suggested. I have changed my wireless settings from automatic to channel 1, and I have set auto-lock to never and tried my best to NEVER USE MY IPHONE FOR ANYTHING while using Sonos. But this is ridiculous. Not only does it drain my battery but sometimes while playing music all evening long I need to use my phone - shocking, I know. The moment I open any other app, my songs start skipping. This is NOT a wireless connectivity issue or other communication with Sonos speakers issue. I can stream Pandora from my Sonos app all day while using 6 different iPhone apps and never have the Sonos app on the screen. This is ONLY an issue when playing from my iPhone library. Again,
I was recently forced to update the Sonos app on my phone (Android 5), despite having done everything possible to avoid it, as in my experience app updates generally remove as much useful functionality they add.My worst fears were realised last night when I tried to fix one of the all-too-regular issues with my Sonos setup and discovered that all the system management functionality had been removed from the app.Am I alone in thinking that is completely unreasonable of Sonos to force me to “upgrade” to a version of their software which removes most of its functionality? I appreciate that Sonos cannot reasonably be expected to maintain backwards compatibility with old versions of Android indefinitely, but Android 7 (the minimum requirement now) is barely three years old.Combined with the fact that the PC desktop version of the app has been similarly deprecated of useful functionality, I am now stuck with £1000 of Sonos equipment which doesn’t work. What am I supposed to do? I spoke wi
For Sonos customers who have multiple Sonos devices in their residence, and/or multiple residences, it would be very helpful to save different configurations of the overall system for different situations. Example I am in my kitchen making dinner, and I want all devices on my first floor to play with individual volumes balanced based on my location to creata surround sound environment. Another example might be for a group of devices in a home theater.
Add the ability to save group settings. This would allow the user to setup multiple groups and save the volume levels. The user can then easily go back to a previous group without having to adjust the volume levels all over again. I am constantly adjusting the volume levels because I have different speaker and room sizes. I try to adjust it so that the volume levels are even throughout the rooms. However, I often change my groups depending on the occasion. This is a hassle as I have to go back and readjust the volume levels. It would be nice to just click on a saved group and have all the previous settings.
Please add the following Sonos Playlist management/edit functionality to the Sonos Controller application: #1 back up Sonos Playlists #2 export a Sonos playlist to a file (e.g. xml, csv) in a format that can then be imported back into the Sonos Controller application - i.e. allow offline mass editing of a playlist. #3 import a playlist from a music service (e.g. Spotify, Apply Music, Deezer, Amazon Music) and create it as a Sonos Playlist #4 repoint a Sonos playlist to a new music service (e.g. if you change your music subscription from Spotify to Apple Music or vice versa). #5 should be ability create Sonos playlists in an offline editor - i.e. expose the Sonos playlist format/syntax to the public so we can create large playlists quickly (extension of function #2).
I am running 10.6 on iOS13.3 on an iPhone 11 Pro Max and can’t use the hardware buttons to control the volume in the Sonos app. I have checked that the hardware volume control is on (also toggled it on and off) and restarted the app but had no luck. I have read somewhere that the lock screen controls going missing is because of Apple protecting AirPlay 2 functionality but is this related? None of my speakers have AirPlay 2 functionality, I just have a 3rd gen Apple TV on the network. I literally have to use the volume slider in the app to adjust the volume of the system or use the physical buttons on each speaker. Has anyone else noticed this or found a solution? Thanks for any support provided!
After working with Sonos support I was told my CR200 controllers will no longer function with the latest software update. One of the best products I used on a daily basis. I’m pissed to say the least. I look at it as sheer laziness on Sonos’ part not to update a marvelous product.
Likely a silly question, but …. Recently, I purchased a Mac Mini for my home desktop computer. On the other side of the fence, we are big SONOS users throughout our home with multiple speakers and connects. So, how can I integrate sounds from my MacMini computer with a SONOS speaker? And by sounds, I mean Zoom meetings, Movies, iTunes Music, Sirrius Radio - any sound generated through the MacMini. I can have a dedicated speaker (either a soundbar or Sonos 1) if needed. This seems super simple, but I am not seeing any documentation based on the my recent research. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can supply. Chip
Having been a Premium Spotify user since 2012, there now more HD music services avaliable. Is it worth leaving Spotify for one of other services. Is sound quality much better? App intergration etc. What are peoples thoughts?
I’m as confused as hell!! I had WiFi issues so I have just added TP_Link Deco P9 mesh network. I have 2 PCs hard wired to my Virgin Hub 3.0 Broadband router and sonos works fine. I changed all the Wifi devices including mobile phones to the NEW Wifi network name and password. Now the SONOS android app only picks up ONE of my 11 Sonos speakers. I tried everything. I even tried to revert to my old network name and password but I only got one option to do this. THis is offered only when no network is detected ? I cannot find anything in the android app to change the network or password? The confusion is that I now have 2 networks…. A wired one and a wireless network covering the entire property. I use the wired network 90% of the time while my family use the Wifi Only. Please HELP!!
Hi all, my first post so bear with me on this :) So I have a sonos play 1 (x3), playbar and sub in my living room. My music is a mixture of streamed content but also some albums i have ripped in to mp3 or Flac/WAV on my Nas Drive. What I am trying to work out is how I can enhance my music fidelity further. Specifically with the source content I want something that can host my content (USB drive), stream and have a higher quality DAC. My NAS is just too noisy to remain on all the time…. Furthermore I am thinking of adding some more speakers down the road but these may or may not be Sonos specific. It would be great if there was something that had a screen too. I was thinking of a Nanomesher DAC 2 (pi based) but also others. I also have a Fiio M6 and was wondering if there was a way to bridge that or have it appear as a sonos target to use to stream from. sorry guys a bit of a ramble there, just exploring options. cheers!
Hi, I use the superb Poweramp app on my new android. So I’ve exported my playlists from Poweramp into the default ‘Playlists’ file on the android. Each playlist is a .m3u8. I don’t think Sonos can handle .m3u8? so I’ve renamed a couple of them simply as .m3u in order to get it working. So my problem is how can I access these playlists and play through my Sonus 1 speaker? In the Sonos app, I’ve gone: Settings > System > System Settings … Music Library … Music Library Setup > Add Shared Music Folder - and I then get the ‘Add New Share’ form. But whatever I put in there, it just shows an X at the end - indicating presumably that my file address is incorrect. My ‘Playlists’ folder is in my standard Files folder in Android so I’ve tried loads of variations around Internal storage/Playlists; Internal storage/Music etc but all I get is the X i.e. Internal storage/Playlists X and can’t get any further. So to recap - can anybody help here with ‘how to connect Sonos to 3rd party playlis
