I was wondering what the latest news is on being able to hear BBC Sounds on my Sonos speakers.I don’t seem to be able to get that BBC service on my Sonos. It seems the comments answers to the FAQ’s are a year old.
This has probably already been asked, but I tried putting "The OS on this device is no longer supported" into the search tool and nothing came back so I’ll ask anyway…I still have a couple of old devices which I manage using the S1 app on my phone, which is an Android-based Moto G4, running Android 7 (kernel version 3.10.84).When I start up the Sonos S1 app, I get a banner at the top saying "The OS on this device is no longer supported", and providing a link to a Sonos article that says that the S1 app requires Android 5, 6 or 7.Any suggestions how to resolve this? I also have the S2 app installed on the phone, but even if I make sure that none of the S2 components are running (by rebooting the phone before running the S1 app) it still gives me the message. It’s not an entirely trivial error report, because it stops me from doing most of the things that I want to do, such as adding a radio station - that is not allowed by the app if your phone is deemed to be “too old” - even if it isn'
I have the new Sonons Roam and over the weekend was able to operate it from my Iphone 12so I could open Spotify and play music or a podcast and then choose the Roam to listen to that Spotify stuff. Today I am working from home and the Roam is greyed out on the iPhone However it will play as airplay to the Roam The same Spotify account on my iPad will allow me to choose the Roam to play to. Sonos S2 app is the one on both bits of Apple kit.I have a Sonos beam attached to the TV for a soundbar and two Play 1 which are set as stereo speakers but I change them to Surround speakers for the Beam as and when a movie or gig is on.On Saturday night I had the Beam and Surround Sound Play 1’s and the Roam behind us when a gig was on TV and it all sounded brilliant. Its just frustrating that the Roam is now not showing on my iPhone app anyone got any hints
Anyone know why one particular Spotify playlist (not one of my own but another I follow) won’t load in the Sonos app. I get an “Unable to add songs to queue” message always. The playlist has over 4K songs in it - is that the reason? If so - why are there these limits? I can’t change it since its not my playlist and its one I listen to often - until now.
Have had Sonos for years, they have always been finicky with clumsy software, but the S2 app is an abomination.Wanted to add a Play One to my system, then out of blue it decides it can no longer find said system. After multiple attempts and resets I was thankfully able to set everything up, and since I use airplay I could then circumvent the horrid app and uninstall it.Hopefully I won’t have to deal with Sonos software again for a very long time, I was close to trashing everything if it asked me to unplug my router one more time.Great sounding speakers but Sonos you guys suck at software!
On my MacBook and iMac the Sonos Controller has a Sonos Playlist, but on my iPhone it only has Imported Playlist is this a difference between Apple OS and iOS or is there a way to add a Sonos Playlist to the Sonos Controller on the iPhone? Also, I have unintentionally deleted a file in Music on my iMac which had resulted in Sonos not being able to connect to my Music file. I have now created a replacement file and my Sonos controllers on the Macs recognise it and Sonos works fine accessing my Sonos Playlist. However, on my iPhone because there is no Sonos Playlist, just am Imported Playlist, I cannot access my music as the the Imported Playlist shows" No selections are available" Could you please advise how to solve this problem. Thank you.
I just put Vipre Advanced Security on my Windows 10 computer and the firewall is blocking Sonos. I know that’s true because when I turn off the Firewall the app works. Please don’t refer me to the article 688 on the Sonos site. It does NOT address Vipre and is no help with Vipre. I suspect I need someone who ran into the same problem and solved it to help.
Not a major issue, but the Rova Service “station” picture displayed against Sonos Favorite stations is missing from the latest Win10 V2 Controller (13.1.2). It displayed OK with previous versions of the Win10 controller and also appears fine on the current IOS V2 controller (13.1.2) for I-Pad or I-Phone.Ross.
Hi can anyone tell me how to tune my Sonos system please ? I have hearing problems and need to turn down the base and up the treble ? The sound seems distorted to me ! I can’t find any buttons and am not good with technology! Lol
I’m considering paying for the Sonos radio subscription. I already pay for ITunes streaming. I like the Sonos stations. My one hesitation is that there doesn’t appear to be a way to listen to Sonos radio outside of my house. Is there an app that would allow me to access my subscription while on the road?
As anyone used one of the many automation apps on Android to toggle the TV Autoplay setting?I have a Playbase set up in a 5.1 setting. Since the Playbase only has an optical in I connect my components to my TV and then run the audio to the Playbase. Since my TV controls my input device I leave my Sonos set to “TV Autoplay”. That way if I’ve been listening to music through the Sonos App it automatically shuts off and switched back to the TV input whenever I turn on the TV. Works great! But, sometimes when I’m gaming I prefer to continue to listen to music through the Sonos app and that means I have to tap SYSTEM, then MY ROOM, then scroll down, then turn off TV AUTOPLAY. And I have to repeat this when I’m finished gaming so as to avoid the rath of my wife when she tries to watch TV and doesn’t get any audio.I’d like to use Tasker, or Automate, or IFTTT, or some other tool to set up a one tap item on my phone to complete all of the steps to toggle this setting thereby hopefully makin
HiI have yet to find an elegant way of getting podcasts onto my sonos system. My latest attempt is to stream from my android device but Sonos seems to require that the podcasts are stored in a specific folder. But no podcast apps on android seem to use that folder to store the actual podcast file. So again I am struggling to find a way of getting this to work.I tried linking my sonos account to my pocketcasts account but that never seems to refresh the subscribed podcast list. Why is it seemingly so difficult to get podcasts on sonos?
Is there anyway I can stop my wife and kids from connecting to my sonos even though they are on the same network?
I had removed the service previously but after the 12.2 update I cannot remove it. In the iOS app, no way to remove my account, only an option to reauthorize it. The desktop app allows one to remove services, including Sonos Radio, but as soon as I remove Sonos Radio, I get prompted asking if I am sure I want to remove it, it OK, and its removed for 1 second, and then comes right back. I don’t want Sonos Radio (never wanted it TBH) but it came in an update with no way to remove unless you enabled it first, and now it seems you can no longer remove it either! I already sub to a commercial free music service, I have no need for 2nd. The extra icon is annoying and confusing to users.
Morning All,I have recently discovered the joy of Great Lives podcasts, I notice there are a number missing from 2015/16/17. They are available if you go to the Tunein website but I cannot find them under podcasts on the Sonos 1 PC app….any idea’s…? Martyn
WEYV showing as working fine on the Sonos Status page. Great! However, WEYV doesn’t appear to exist anymore, lol. No app in the app store, no plugin for Sonos, their web site is dead, no mention of them on the web since 2019. Good to know that Sonos shows them up and working, though!
Seriously Sonos. Read the forums...Decomissioning our Connect Amps is just BS….we know you need to sell new products...and btw I have a ton of S2 compatible stuff….but this is just too much. My son did the update not knowing what he was doing so now im stuck on S2. On to my questions. I started using SonoPhone to control all of my S1 and S2 devices in one app and it works good...ugly...but at least it works. Are there any others that people like? For my Mac, im using the native Spotify app instead of the Mac controller as it doesn't care about S1, S2 and treats all the speakers equal….is this what everyone else is doing? Is there another good App for Sonos that is ambivalent to S1/S2? for the Mac?
Hi,Each time I open the iOS app, I get 2 prompts:Add you favorite music services Add a voice assistantI never want to do these, so is there a way to stop these from appearing all the time? I can dismiss them and then they come back. The app settings don't seem to cater for these type of prompts. I just want them gone forever. Any ideas?CheersJamie
For so long as I have used Qobuz streamed through Sonos I have been able to access my favorite artists alphabetically. Just a few weeks ago, this feature magically disappeared. I sort artists alphabetically in the Qobuz app and double checked to make sure my election had not changed -- it had not. I have contacted Qobuz for explanation. Qobuz returned and explained that they provide the streaming and metadata, but it is the Sonos app that is at fault. I'd be interested if others have this same problem.
Does anyone have a valid url to add to “my stations” in Tunein for Smooth Jazz 95.5 WNUA? I have tried https://fastcast4u.com/player/wnua-cdirnpeo/# but that does not work. Any assistance would be appreciated
So frustrating The app closes every single time leaving these sonos one speakers as glorified paper weights Anyone have a workaround
I just received my SYMFONISK WiFi speakers and installed the Sonos app on my iPad. I am now playing music through the Spotify app. I noticed that in the upper right corner of my iPad the network/Wi-Fi ‘spiny circle’ (on the left in picture below) keeps on spinning nonstop. I’m not sure but I think my battery is draining faster than it had been before. I am trying to understand if the mechanism that is being used to get music from the Spotify app on my iPad to my speaker is one which ends up using a lot of battery power. I had been using a Google mini before and don’t think the spinny circle thing was constantly spinning when playing music from Spotify to the Google mini speakers via my iPad. I’m wondering if the mechanism that is now being used is different than what was occurring with my Google mini. Perhaps it involves using both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi which causes a lot more power to be drained?Thank you.
Hi I’m controlling sonos on an Iphone 11 Pro Max via the Sonos app (my speakers are not airplay compatible) and neither the hardware volume controls on the side of the iphone 11 Pro Max, nor the volume slider on the iphone lock screen, are able to control the volume. The only way I can control the volume is via the slider in the app.I have tried turning off and on “hardware volume controls” and “lock screen controls” in the app settings, as well as reinstalling the app, but the problem persists.I would like to select and play all my music within the Idagio app, which streams to Sonos, but even when I play music that I have selected via the browse function in the sonos app the problem persits.
Why dose TV and Music not have separate volume settings and bass and treble. I set the way I like my music to sound, then I turn my TV on. And I then need to adjust the sound settings for the TV because it’s just got way to much Bass. Back to playing my music and again I need to adjust settings. why can’t we have a music preset and tv preset . And why can’t I have a way to add the subwoofer to my other play one speakers, it’s connected to my surround sound setup for the tv
I amplaying Apple ALAC lossless streams on Sonos 5 speakers with my Apple MacBook Air. It sounds great!
