Hey there! I’ve been doing some and decided on getting Sonos Outdoor speakers + Sonos amps for my backyard because I love Sonos and i’ve read that these speakers w/ Trueplay sound great. What’s been very challenging is trying to figure out how many speakers I need to get based on my backyard space. Here’s what I’m thinking so far: Amp #13 speakers in the BBQ area 3 speakers in the covered patio area. Amp #23 speakers on left side of the pool 3 speakers on right side of pool Does this seem appropriate for the space? Also wondering I’m wondering if it’s best to set these up as left/right channels or mono?
First off, I’m a professional sound engineer for live and recorded music, but I have ZERO experience with home stuff, so I apologize if I get terminology wrong.I inherited a lot of A/V stuff in this house when we bought it back in 2020. Most of it has been useless as I can’t login to it, but I did manage to get into the Sonos Connect upstairs which was connected to a Sonance DSP2-150 MkII power amp and that appears to drive the Sonarray 8.1 speakers out by the pool.I think 4 of the 8 speakers are Left, 4 are right, and the sub appears to be wired mono, though there are only LR outputs from the power amp, so it’s not clear exactly how the sub is connected - but I don’t think it’s super relevant to my issue.Half of the small speakers have always been out - actually just really, really quiet by comparison. Recently the power amp failed, so I grabbed an old studio power amp out of my closet and plugged it in…To my surprise, *regardless of input side* (I tried both) whichever output drives
Recently I have purchased Sonos Sub (Gen 3) and my Sonos App can't connect with a Bluetooth on the initial stage adding a new device in App. Give me to know how can I manage this error?
Hi I currently have a zone player which connects my record player, but it's only for the S1 app. Do I need a connect gen2 (far cheaper than the port) to replace the zone player on the s2 app? Thanks
My Sonos was professionally installed 13 years ago. I have a bridge and a connect:amp. The connect is wired to two outdoor rock speakers. It looks like either my bridge died or the power supply did. I have the bridge connected to my wireless router but there are no lights indicating a connection. What’s my best alternative to get this up and running without spending much? Thanks!!
Has anyone had any issues with Sonance VP66 TL (thinline) speakers on AMP running at higher volumes. Distortion, popping/cracking sounds. We’ve isolated the speakers (and Sonance provided a new set), wiring and AMP, and all seem to function fine independently, but in combination, the problem persists.Sonance and Sonos both are saying products should work fine together. I have other rooms running AMP with other sonance speakers (same family, just not thinline) with no issues
Moving from USA to India with my Sonos Arc, Gen3 and Era 100. India has 220v power compared to 110v in USA. All of these devices specification says 100-240v. Does that mean that the US device will work just fine in India without a step down converter? Anyone in the community who has done that?
Hello! There is a new Sonos Port in our office. The Sonos Port is located in the server cabinet, connected via an ethernet wire to the nearest switch. The network is new and the Internet is about 200 Mbps. There is only one subnet. There are no conflicts on the network. The network engineer confirmed it. I noticed a problem connecting to the Sonos Port with the new S2 version (updated). The updated Sonos Port (with S2) is not detected on the network. I tried to connect from my smartphone (Sonos S2 App), and also tried to find it from my computer (with Sonos S2). A long search for the device, eventually not to be found. Then I made a rollback (Downgrade) to the S1 version. After the rollback, the Sonos Port began to be detected normally on the network. In the previous version, an update message is intrusively coming out. Dear developers, please check this situation, it is necessary to fix the bug and optimize the new version of S2 for Port. Thank you!P.S. Please move the topic to Audio C
Please tell me why I can’t disable sound delay on the Sonos Port line input? Minimal settings is 0.75 sec. Why you cant add a zero settings? In some cases this is absolutely necessary. When I bought your product, I didn’t know that I couldn’t remove the sound delay. Moderator edit: changed output to input
I bought into Sonos, and am starting to regret it. It is slow on my phone, cuts out, and is always updating but not better. So, …. Sonos where are you going? Is this going to be worth the pain in the end? I can get speakers anywhere. Can you tell me why I should keep your stuff? You keep offering free shipping. Shipping really isn’t relevant - that tells me you’ve lost your way. I’ve spent over $1,000. Keep the shipping, make the app work. This isn’t a pair of socks.
I have my turntable connected to a Sonos Port via the RCA input. I’d also like to hook up a CD player to the Port, is this possible and what would I need? Is there an adapter that would do this? Thanks in advance!
I want to add a new device to my existing system, so I downloaded the S2 app to the new device and chose Add to existing system. Then the app tells me to press a button on a device, but what happens when I do that? Will the app connect to my existing system and find ALL my connected speakersor just the one on which I pressed the button? And will pressing the button on that speaker remove it from my other devices app?
I am installing the 8.2 landscape series Sonance system. I am trying to figure out how to zone out the gazebo area with 2 6/12 70W satellite and one 300W subwoofer. I’d like to be able to quite the main zone and use zone 2 for the gazebo area louder than the other zone. While the 2-channel amp provided can handle the entire system, is there a way to separate zones with this? Or do I need another amp for the other zone. Lastly, would a Sonos amp be able to handle the power of the 2 70W sat and 300W sub? Thanks for the advice!
Picked up the Sonance 6.1MAG w/ Sonos amp and looking for assistance on speaker layout around our back patio.I tried to prioritize speaker locations based on primary sitting positions - pergola, sun ledge, fire pit & pool denoted by the orange dots. This leaves out the area to the right I circled in pink and the back fence line. Thoughts on current position or changes you would make?
I have totally dove into the Sonos World and so far I love it. Im an older guy who still loves his collection of Vinyl, CDs and Yes, even Cassettes. Can I connect these items seamlessly ?? I do have the Port, Era, 300 and Sub. What else do I need?? Can I buy a separate AVR/Amplifier and connect them to the port, (and then I can even use the AM/FM radio stations)?? Or do I buy a switching device and then select which device I want to play?? This wireless stuff is kinda confusing … I have even been thinking of paying someone to hook it all up correctly. I can buy the stuff myself and let them do the hard stuff… Thanks for ANY advice !!!
I have 2 different Ghz connections at home. A 2,4 and 5 Ghz. The amp can't find the 5Ghz connection. Why is that?
Hi everybody,My question is simple :How can I connect my Sonos Port to this preamplified system ?Thank U !
A coupe of weekend ago I upgraded my ASUS Zen mesh wifi network with two more units for better coverage, it all went well for everything without the Sonos System with a couple of One and One SL units. The Sonos system looses contact with the units once in a while, it can be good for a week or two, but suddenly it starts to behave like shit, can’t find the units, want to connect them, and when you try doing that the system is not able to do it, it is starting to become very very annoying, it all worked fine before the network expansion, but Sonos would be able to handle things like that you would imagine…. Right…
Does ANY piece of equipment you connect to the line-in RCA’s on Amp require a pre-amp? It doesn’t really seem to be clearly defined anywhere.
I’ve seen a few responses on this that say move your system closer, but this is the system set up that I have had for over three years now and the issue just started about 6 months ago. My Connect Amps are connected via Ethernet to wired speakers. While playing they just “cut out” and then will start up again. Anyway to do a hard reset on the Connect Amps? I have sent diagnostics to Sonos this afternoon as well. Just curious if others have had this issue / have resolved this issue. Relocating not a solution given where all the speaker wire for the home is located.
Unlike Bose, you can’t group Sonos speakers in the same group with Alexa devices, which I own quite a few. I’m wondering if there are any plans or update role outs in the future, where the ability/capability become available. It’d be a cherry on top!
I just bougth a Sonos amp. And for me it works great, while i have an Iphone. However my girlfriend has an android phone. And she’s using Youtube video, not youtube music as she listens to music you can only find on the “normal” youtube. How can she listen on the sonos amp? We have found a sonostube app. but then you can’t login to youtube. she has premium, to avoid the adds. What equivalent has sonos made for the airplay for android phone? Cause shurely they have thought of this? this is the 3rd gen amp. and this issues has been all over the internet for many years. And since they are not adding bluetooth to the amp,(which costs nothing to add), they must have thought of a better solution? Or am i forced to return the amp, and get one of the competitors? I would hate that, because i really like the sonos amp. but missing a feature for all non IOS devices would be such a massive deficiency that it’s not useable at all. if half of my guests etc. can’t use it..
In some threads it is reported that ZP80, ZP90 and connect products sometimes looses phone output level. I have a ZP90 that had the same problem. I have extended the life of the ZP90 as I realised that the optical output on the box is still working. So, using the optical output is a solution to both the outpur power problem and the problem of the same components of electrical hum and noise in the phono outpu signal.
Hi I have been a Sonos user for many years and had my existing core system in place for 9 years. Part of this system is a Connect that I use the line-out from to feed into another system. This has always worked fine, but since the recent S1 app update, the volume of the line-out has dropped to virtually nothing. It has always been set to “Fixed” and operated perfectly. Now in the second system even with the volume in the second system set to max it is barely audible. The only change is the App.Ive connect a second device to the Line-OUT and this too has very low volume, so its not the secondary equipment. I have to say over the years I have become more and more frustrated with the Sonos updates and the delays in the various fixes that these usually cause. You have pushed me into the S1 sub culture now - how long is this going to resolve ? The Sonos products consist of this connect, 4 connect:amps, a Play:1 and a ONE.The external device is an old Living Control (that to be honest
Some older topics involve hum and noise from zp90, zp80, connect etc. Some solved it by earthing the shield of a connector. I solved it by switching to an optical output rather than phono.
