Just recently the sonos/ deezer user interface has changed for the worst. Limited recommendations and search options.

Any one else noticed this and have a fix or a solution?

Complain to Deezer? They are the ones who create the interface you see in the Sonos controller, using the API that Sonos provides.

All streamers have access to that same API. You can see lots of recent positive comments about Apple’s most recent rewrite of their implementation of the API interface in the controller,  in these very boards.
