I have a spit system, numerous connects, boost, play1’s all have been updated to S2. I have an S1 pair of Sonos 5’s. My iOS S2 app locates the S1 5’s and won't launch the S2 app. S1 app launches fine. This is very frustrating. I may have to reset all my S2 components and downgrade them to the S1 app. Anyone else having this challenge? My Mac computers S2 apps are stable and recognize my s2 equipment. The S1 mac app won't recognize my S1 5’s. Arg!
Beyond annoyed with Sonos products. Sound quality is fine, but lets be real, the app is fair and the tech is abysmal. Works one day, and the next minute fails to find and have to set up everything yet again. Please, do yourself a favor, do not buy these products.
When you cast something using it to a Sony TV x950h is the sound not as loud. Seems like I have to turn it up a lot louder to hear it. i have the new Sonos Arc and Gen 3 Subwoofer. Just got this today with the new TV. I am at 53 volume to hear it.
Hi, I recently moved from using the old Bridge to using S2. Since then the connection has been unstable for most of my Sonos speakers; it either doesn’t play, or keeps stopping. We use a mesh wifi system in the house, and we also have issues with Alexa connectivity now. Its intermittent, although she says she is doing something it doesn’t actually happen that often. I would much appreciate a solution to the above, and understand we will have to work through a number of diagnostics first. I’ve ruled out as much as possible within my knowledge base.
Hello - I have AT&T Fiber internet and a tech recently came out to fix some connection issues. He also recommended merging my 2.4ghz and 5ghz network. Before this, my Sonos system was set up on the 2.4ghz network. Now that network no longer exists and both networks have identical names/passwords, I’m having major problems getting my Sonos to connect to wireless. I read through this (after I factory reset all of my Sonos equipment which apparently I shouldn’t have done ). I ran an ethernet cord from an additional wireless access point directly to my Playbar, and my system is setup. However, when I try to connect my Sonos to wireless now as I need to move the additional access point to another room, it keeps saying I have an invalid password when connecting to my network (the password is correct). While my channel selection for the 2.4ghz network is set to automatic, each time I've checked the channel it has been on 6 or 11.I had no issues setting up Sonos on the 2.4ghz network so I
I am having issues connecting to iHeartRadio and Sonos radio.. When I try and connect to either I get a message that says “Sonos (or iHeartRadio) needs to be re-authorized. I “re-authorize” the account and I try and connect again and it does the same thing ALL over again… It worked when I originally set the system up about 6 weeks ago. Now it’s stopped. I have reset the speaker. Deleted and re-installed the app. Reset the modem. Updated both the Sonos app and the Sonos speaker. (Both were up to date) Still the same issue…… Customer support is lacking/disinterested. Hoping maybe someone has an idea… This thing is beginning to be more trouble than it’s worth...
Hello, one of our clients uses SONOS products in their building, its like a 30 devices, from ONEs to AMPS, Beams and Bars. Two sonos gateways. Whole devices was on LAN cable, but after adding Beam to the controller whole system crashes, older devices starts to disappear. After putting everything on wifi it seams to stabilize but after some time i notice that on my ping program the whole system loses connection instantly, like a switching On and Off. Maybe you can suggest a solution or if there is some specific way to manage all these devices.P.s. Amps are not even added to controller yet, do not know what will happen after we add them...
Hello. Folks here have been very helpful. Thank you for that. May I ask for some help? I recently added 4 new devices to my Sonos set-up. They are noted here as Reagan’s Room, Classroom, and GarageA and Garage D. Only these new devices seem to be coming back as Undefined and in white boxes. I’ve tried to find whether this is normal or important (problem) and I’m confused. Is this a problem? I have some devices by ethernet where I can and others relying on wireless. The only issues I’ve had involve: I had two drop-outs of audio last week for about 30 seconds. I’ve had issues where my Sonos controller on the iPhone (the one I use the most) is very slow to connect to the entire system and even play/pause seems to have glitches. Had to re-start the app a few times. Otherwise, I’ve tended to play just fine. Some of my “orange” zones go back/forth between red/orange/green (connected by ethernet) but I haven’t worried to much about them as otherwise all seemed to work. Thank
I have hooked up a brand new Amp with my sweet hand-crafted 1980s Klipsch KG4s. I have Treble down to -10 and Bass up to +10. The highs bleed my hears and the bass isn’t has heavy as the rear 16” sub should be putting out. They are 4 ohms speakers. Any ideas?
Acquired some used ZonePlayers(ZP120, ZP90) from my neighbor and unable to manage them using the S1 app, because the software on the device is so old ( 14.5-40190c ). Getting error 11 when trying to initiate SW update. Can’t even send diagnostics, but, using the mini controller I am able to get the device to play ‘radio’ so that leads me to think the network connection is ok.In any case, I’ve simplified the network setup and have the ZP directly connected to the cable modem, no wifi router in the middle, and still no luck. Internal logs don’t really have much detail either…[Thu Jan 1 00:11:58 1970] <diag:topology,1> Unable to submit diagnostics. Sonos One cut out half way through playing. I have tried everything trying to connect it. Rebooted, factory reset, wireless, wired and it still won't connect. I have rung up and they told me to get an ethernet cable, which I did and still didn't work. do I send it back? the people on the phone seem to be reading off instructions and do not tell me anything more than is online.
Hi,I’m not able to connect Symfonisk to WiFi network. Only connecting to ethernet works. Seems like WiFi cart is missing… From the /support/review:/VERSION:contents of /VERSION61.1-83220 /sbin/ifconfig:Only listed interfaces are br0, eth0, lo0 /proc/ath_rincon/status:contents of /proc/ath_rincon/statuserror opening file /proc/ath_rincon/status (errno=2 No such file or directory)I did factory reset, but it’s still the same. Can someone verify how the outputs looks on the working unit? Thanks,Krystl
I have tried changing the Airplay audio quality setting to “compressed”, but it didn’t help and when I pause the music or videos for a few minutes, I will have to go back to the MacBook to deselect the speakers and reselect again.
Hi all.I’m running an S1 system (i use a Sonos Connect to stream my turntable, and don’t really want to buy a $450 new component to do the same thing). My partner attempted to add a Sonos Move speaker to the system and now the S1 app is stuck in “Use Sonos S2 app” mode. The options it gives me are “Download Sonos S2 app” which i obviously don’t want to do.and “More options” which includes: “About My System” “Submit Support Diagnostics” “Reset App” and “Sonos Customer Care” About My System shows all my speakers on S1 except the Move.“Reset App” does… i dunno, just asks me to close and restart the app, but when i reopen i go back to the “Use Sonos S2 app” screen. how do i get the Move on the S1 system, and/or how do i get my S1 app working?no, i don’t want a split system. the system still kinda works. e.g. home theatre works when controlled by the TV. and i can play music in rooms from Spotify. but i can’t control anything from the sonos app. edit: it just now occurs to me i could try
Which is best way to Install Bluetooth or WI-FI?
I am now experiencing the ARC sound cutting out. It will last about 3 seconds, then it reverts to the Samsung TV speaker. Every time I reset and disconnect, it will do the same thing. Need help to get this up and running again.
Hello,I got the Sonos Port and the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable delivered today and I am struggling to connect them to my existing speakers. When I try to play music from the vinyl via the Port, I only get static sounds/crackling with no music. Port connected to my existing Sonos speakers with no issues, I used the default setting on the turntable, followed the setup process and no luck.I tried both Sonos and Pro-Ject cables to connect the record player to Port and looked here in other threads without success. When I try to play music from Spotify as per usual, everything works fine. The turntable is working as I can hear the very slight music coming from where the needle meets the vinyl.Would anyone be able to help?
Hi, When I try to play more than 2-3 rooms with Sonos S2, the playback constantly cuts in and out… I’m using Sonosnet. Talking to Sonos CS, he says I need to get Sonosnet on it’s own clean 2.4 channel. It doesn’t appear that my AmpliFi AP can do that.
Hi In recent months when I listen to BBC Radio 2 or London Gold it regularly flips and repeats itself. This happens a few times every hour and becomes extremely annoying. I reported this problem to Sonos and they said reboot my Router. However, this becomes inpracticable as it happens more than once an hour. Does anyone else have experience of this issue?
Hi all, I’m experiencing unstable playback with slow response (via app) from a group and common delay with some speakers and others not. The specific group includes these products: boost, play3, play1, play5, One SL and Connect:Amp. I’m using Tidal HiFi. The issue has gotten more common recently. Would be wonderful to hear ideas on what could cause this:-)Diagnosis submitted: 1506863163Thanks, Arnt
I've spent 3 days trying to get my playbar, sub, and 2 play-3 speakers set up and it keeps saying the WiFi password is incorrect even when I copy-paste from the router settings. It accepts the range extender network password, which is the same as the other one, but then tells me I can't use the speakers without the Boost. So now I'm stuck with thousands of dollars of speakers that don't work. I've tried changing the network password, deleting and reinstalling the app, resetting the speakers. I've tried plugging a speaker into the router but then the app doesn't even find it when searching for speakers to set up. Can anyone suggest something else to try?
Hi Sonos community. My iphone only connects to sonos about 20% of the time. The rest of the time is says “Unable to connect to Sonos product”.I’ve tried resetting the app, restarting my router, switching all router traffic to 2.4GHz, re-installing sonos app on phone, setting the iphone ‘local network’ on, restarting my phone. The thing I really don’t understand is my wife’s android phone has no trouble connecting to Sonos - works 100% of the time. It seems to be a problem with the iphone only (iphone 11, ios14.2)Any ideas wd be very much appreciated!
I currently have a Sonos Playbase and a Sonos Sub. They were both connected to my Wifi in the past however there was one day when they were just disconnected from the Wifi. The Playbase is now connected to the router through Ethernet cable while the Sub is unable to be connected. When I try taking out the Ethernet cable, my Sonos app is unable to find either the Playbase or the Sub. With the Ethernet cable connected to the Playbase, I am unable to connect it to the Wifi as the error "Incorrect Password" keeps showing up. To note:1. I am definitely keying in the correct password.2. My router 802.11 mode is mixed 802.11a/n/ac.My wifi should be compatible with the Sonos products. I would like to enquire what I am able to do to reconnect both my Playbase and Sub to my wifi. As of now my Sub is unable to be used while my Playbase can only be used with an ethernet cable as I do not have sufficient ports on my router. I have already tried factory resetting both my products yet the issue still
The Playbar is working with music services, but not with the TV. I’ve tried unplugging TV, Playbar and receiver. On the Sonos System Info in the app, the Playbar has nothing next to it. The optical cable seems to be good with red lights coming out of TV and Playbar. (Should optical cable go to receiver rather than TV?)On the receiver, when I do a setup, searching in vain for some setting, the cable TV sound comes on when I get to sound settings, but disappears when I move to the next setting. It was working fine but quit working when I did a system update on the Onkyo receiver My diagnostics is 246167946
We have had the Sonos System for over a year now, and within the last 4 months the DVD player has begun cutting out periodically before coming back on. It only happens while playing DVDs, no other sources are affected. I have scoured the help section and tried most of the fixes I saw there, with no luck so far. It is a Sony Blueray/DVD player, playing DVDs, connected to a Beam, Sub, and 2 One Sls. The Beam and Sub are connected via Ethernet. I sent a diagnostic earlier, 178377687. It just cut out again while I was typing so I sent another as well, 1816949457.
