I’m having some volume issues... or maybe not? Is it wrong to expect the playback volume of my turntable to be the same as streaming audio when switching between them? When I go from streaming a song to then playing something on my turntable there’s a noticeable drop in volume. I’ve tested this by playing the same song / artist to ensure parity. I see a few posts here about audio being too quiet and some not playing at all, this isn’t that issue - the audio is decent through the Line-In, it just isn’t consistent with streaming playback. I have a Technics SL1210 turntable going into a Pro-Ject Phono Box E pre-amp, going into a Sonos Amp which broadcasts to a Sonos One and Play:One speaker. My app settings are as follows: Line-In Source Level: 5 (has been 10, see below)Autoplay: OnAudio Delay: 2000msUse Autoplay Volume: offAudio Compression: Compressed While the turntable is playing I have changed the Line-In Source Level between 2, 5, 8 and 10, you can hear an obvious volume diffe
Hello,I am experiencing a network related issue with a new Sonos One Gen 2 where after 8-12 hours of uptime, the Sonos device stops responding to ARP requests for its IPv4 address, leading to a case where it can no longer be found by the Sonos app nor pinged at its IPv4 address until the Sonos is rebooted. Force disconnecting the Sonos from WiFi and allowing it to reconnect also restores connectivity. This Sonos device is the only Sonos device in my system and is connected via WiFi through a Ubiquiti Unifi AC Lite AP. No other devices on this network exhibit similar issues.Once in this “bad” state, adding a static ARP entry on my Mac allows me to ping the device, as well as allows the Mac Sonos app to discover the device. However, this does not restore connectivity from the mobile app (as expected).Any insight into this? I was able to capture diagnostic # 516203405 while in the “bad” state using the Mac app as well.
I have a simple set up - a Sonos “Connect” cabled to a NAS drive with my music and cabled to a Devolo powerline adapter which connects to my router. The adapter also provides WiFi to my music room. I use an ipad as a controller (or an android phone as a last resort).Since I updated my Sonos controller software late December/early Jan 2021, my sonos playlists have disappeared. They are visible on my android phone but not on my ipad. I can go through a convoluted process that seems to recover them but it really is a pain and quite frankly, those that I demo the system to find it laughable.I have been in contact with Sonos Support trying to either get this fixed or registered as a problem but no joy. To be fair they have been responsive but have concluded by saying that it could be the Devolo powerline Wi-Fi adapters I use to connect my music room to the internet. Short of a 30m ethernet cable dangled out of an attic window, I have no other practical way to connect the system to the
Very sad. I saw that Costco was carrying a two-pack of Sonos One SL, something I’ve wanted for awhile. So I pick them up, bring them home, have no trouble configuring them using the Sonos S2 app as a stereo pair in the living room. Except playing music on them. A short digression: we had Sonos speakers (generation 1 amps) in the previous house, wired to various speakers spread throughout the house. We using the Sonos S1 app to control them, and until relatively recently, played music directly from the ipad to them. Life was good. Then Sonos decided to drop support for playing from an ipad, so I used a Windows Media Player on a Windows 10 system, controlled by the S1 app on the ipad. Life was still good. We had tunes. For the life of me, I can’t get the Windows Media Player library working with the S2 app. I can get the app to see it: but all the subfolders (albums, artists, folders, playlists, etc) are empty:-( Clicking “update music library” doesn’t make anything show up. I (brief
Every now and then the SONOS 1 repeats a sentence or two that was broadcast a few moments before ie, part of the narrative is repeated. This usually happens on BBC Radio 4 or so it seems. Has anyone had this experience and if so, what do I do about it?
For some reason I cannot connect all my sonos sl speakers with the arc and sub to create the home theater set up I desire. The sonos sl speakers are like their own two entities they won’t even pair with each other. I tried rebooting, unplugging, uninstalling the app, reinstalling the app, I have clicked on the play button when the chime sound comes on and still the sonos sl speakers will to sync and integrate with arc and sub. I need help I don’t know what to do? I am new the his sonos ecosystem but this is major deal brearker and if I am not able to do this I think I am going have to return this and return back to Bose. This is just too complicated. I need some help before to resolve this.
Sonos Arc sounding tinny and metallic after Trueplay and also multiple EQ, surround and sub configs and changes to settings. The only way I could get the Arc to sound kind of OK was EQ - Treble -10 and Bass - 6, but still tinny. Is this a bug and Sonos need a software fix? Many thanks for any help as I did not expect the Arc to be like this
I have a pair of play 1s that go out of sync after a day or of resetting and repairing. I'm running a Google wifi mesh network. Everything else seems to be fine and my surround setups haven't had the issue
I love using Sonos to control my home audio environment (I have five devices throughout the house), but now I must frequently connect to my work network by VPN (because I’m working primarily from home due to the pandemic). After I connect to my work network using CIsco AnyConnect VPN client, I’m no longer to access my Sonos system on my home network. Instead, the Sonos application displays a message that says “You’re on a different wireless network than Sonos...”. I’d like to control my home Sonos network while connected to my VPN work network. One option in the Cisco client is to “Allow local LAN access when using VPN - if configured”. That seems like it would allow me to do both at the same time, but I’ve selected it and it doesn’t work. Please help?
I just installed a Sonos beam in my living room, a pair of Symfonisk linked to the rear. TV is a Samsung NU6900 (late 2018 model) and I am utilizing the ARC port via the HDMI cable included in the Beam box. ALL content is watched through an Apple TV 4K. If I leave everything At the defaults, I get no audio delay/lip sync issue. Watching the latest movie on Apple TV+ or Netflix, the Sonos app in the about section shows a PCM 2.0 audio input. I forced my Apple TV to output Dolby 5.1, then the audio menu in my TV showed a Dolby Output (versus the typical PCM) and then the Sonos app would show a Dolby input. But I would get an uncorrectable lip sync issue. I tried to fix on the Sonos app, and the tv, no luck. I have had the Apple TV run a HDMI cable check, that’s good. I have match frame rate off. And I still have a unfixable sync issue. Should I just leave it all on the defaults and get a working PCM 2.0 stream? Am I just wasting the system since I also have rear channels? Is there somet
Hi I can’t add my sub to the room with my Sonos 5. Everything is brand new
Hi my Sonos in only one room decreases it’s volume. Especially so when I group the room in with others. Please advise.
I’ve been having all manner of issues with Playlists created in iTunes and then imported into Sonos. Both Apple and Sonos seem to be updating their software without consideration of this integration feature. Every time the software asks to update form either company, I am worried it will break everything (again). Now, I can get Sonos to read the XML playlists inside an iTunes library sitting on my NAS. I can see the playlist under External Playlists, and the individual song filenames (with MP3 extensions). However, when it tries to play the songs from the playlist, access is denied. When I instead Search for the individual song, I get the Song fine with all metadata. This kinda defeats the point of a playlist. Very annoying.
After about a year not using my sonos 1 y tried to set it up and I can’t find it, tried all the instructions on the page, green light flashing rebooted the product, relocated the product, put the internet cable, used a different mobile device, etc and still can’t find it. Can you let me know what the problem might be?
Just tried hooking something up to the line-in port on one of my Fives on a Flexson vertical stand, only to find that the line-in port is essentially blocked by the Flexson arms that hold the Five in vertical position. In order to fit the plug in, I’ve gotta angle the speaker down in the stand, and it’s much less secure that way (and angled poorly). Anyone else have this problem? Any good solutions?
Hello everyone, I’ve been an WiFi (IT) Engineer professionally for 10+ years and wanted to share some thoughts and tips that I hope can help some of you out there struggling with the stability of Sonos and their App.Sorry this is a long post, you can skip down to the ***TIPS**** section if you would like.In our industry we roll our eyes every time a customer wants to widely support IOT devices, or Internet-of-Things device, such as a Sonos, AppleTV, Roku, Smart TV’s, Gaming Consoles, you name it, in a enterprise environment. These Sonos are no different of an animal and for the price you pay, the software is exceptionally poor at best. I am guessing Sonos speakers are QA tested in severely isolated wireless environments and not enough in the real world, where there are countless interference sources, hundreds if not thousands consumer grade different wireless routers. Unfortunately for us customers, we all live in the real world and not perfectly isolated wireless environments. To give
Hi guys, I have 2 Sonos play 5s and I would like to use these as the sound output of my Mac mini (2020). I connected one of these to my Mac mini using an RCA cable, but I cannot get the sound out of them. Is there any missing step that I did not perform or, these 2 are not meant to be connected using the cable? TIA.
I just received my new Sub (Gen3). I follow the complete procedure to connect it but at the last step the sub does not connect to the network. I receive the message to check if the network nama and password are correct.I retype the password, but the system still fails to connect. My ARC and 2 One satellites are working perfectly and i connected them in few seconds. Why is the Sub not working ?thanks for your help !
I have had a Sonos system for years, I’ve got rooms with stereo pairs and a surround sound set up…..everything is Sonos I absolutely love it…..well I did until I got a Move at Christmas, it’s constantly going missing or offline, constantly dropping out and it’s so frustrating and causing issues with the set up. I have a wired set up and can’t understand or get to the bottom of why. Any advice would be appreciated Paul
Since the latest app update, my sonos one wont connect. Have done a factory reset and have it connected to the route. I had a mare getting my Play 1’s connected back to my Beam, all was working fine….grrr well done sonos. Any ideas on the One?
So this is very odd. I just got a full Sonos Arc system with the sub and rear SL1's. So I get everything connected in the app and then plug the arc into my TV's ARC port via HDMI and it's working fine. I watched a little bit of John Wick 3 on Vudu to hear how it sounds with the rears and it's great. Turned on my PS5, same thing, sounds fantastic, but I can't use my app now. When I start my app it keeps telling me Unable to login to Sonos now. It was working a little bit after the initial install, but oddly separated my rear SL's into living room 2 instead of my main living room with the arc and sub. I brought them over from that room to the main living room, then it said my rear left wasn't connected, even though it was and working, so I tried to disconnect and re-configure them. Let's just say it didn't work and then I was just getting sound out of 1 SL and getting a blinking white light on the other.Fast forward a few hours. Wife had to go to work, and I had to take kids to g
I have a play 5 and two Sonos 1s and I moved them in the house. The app then wouldn’t work and I’ve tried to reconnect them, reset the app and now the app doesn’t recognize anything. Help?
I have 2 play 1 and a first generation play 5 mall works well until release of new controller. Can’t update as the gen 1 play 5 doesn’t allowme to. System works fine but the play 5 keeps cutting in and out. Play 5 in one room, 2 play 1 in next room with a wireless hub in between the two rooms. all Speakers are within 5 metres of each other. No hassles with play 1 but continuous drop outs with the play 5 please help
I am using my play 5 to plug in a home projector to line in. The volume is really low on the sonos system. Any suggestions?
