I am looking for reviews / feedback from those of you who have or are using the Polk Atrium sub 10 / sat 30 set with the connect amp. I realize the connect amp was not intended to be used with passive subs but for this set-up does it produce sufficient power? I am only looking to use 2 sat 30s for this set-up. Crossover is handled at the speaker level so shouldn't be a problem not using the sub out line from the connect amp? ***sorry I just realized I put this in the wrong sub-forum. Should be in components. newbie...***

Us audiophiles would love some outdoor Sonos speakers. I have asked Sonos before to develop them. I'd buy them straightaway. Are they being developed? If so,when will they be available? Does anyone know?

My Sonos Connect is only providing an audio output intermittently to my hifi amplifier. I know it's the Connect that is at issue, rather than the amplifier, because my CD player is also connected to my amp and that is working just fine. I have also checked the Network Matrix, and the connection from the Root Bridge (a Play 3) to the Connect is fine (inbound/outbound is 43/38). Any ideas? Thanks! Mike

On my new Huawei G8 phone, I can't control my Sonos on the lock screen. With my former smartphone (LG), that wasn't a problem. I believe all my settings are correct. - I installed the Sonos app on my device (duh!) and gave the app the permission to access my storage and my location. - I enabled 'show notifications' and 'show lock screen controls'. - In my phone settings, I allowed the Sonos app to write system settings and to ignore battery optimalisation - In the Android notifications center, I allowed the Sonos app to be shown on the lock screen. [I hope I translated the options correct - my Android is in Dutch) But still, I don't get to see the controls on my lock screen as I was used to with my LG-phone. Although, when I'm using the standard Huawei music player, I do get controls on my lock screen. Does anybody know, what to do? Except for buying another phone? :?

sub and zones

I got a ZP120 in 110V mode and connected it to a 220V current. Now, unsurprisingly, it does not work anymore. I could obviously bring it in for repair but I am wondering whether I could take care of that myself in a more timely fashion. Obviously I will loose my warranty by opening the ZP but I don't mind as long as I know for sure that I can fix the problem myself (otherwise I would loose the warrenty AND not got the ZP working again!). Could someone tell me whether there is something simple like a fuse or so inside that I could simply replace?! Does anybody have experience? Sonos staff, can you help me? I am surprised anyway that the controllers ship with 110-220V adapters while the ZP have to be switched manually. But that is another discussion... Thanks for any help!

I understand that I can convert my existing wired speakers to Sonos with a Sonos connect device however I can't find info about how to connect an existing five speaker (5.1 surround driven by an existing Yamaha receiver/amp) to sonos. Can this be done and maintain 5.1 ? Is it as simple as using a sonos connect along side my amp? I also have other existing in ceiling speakers in other parts of the house and realize to integrate them to sonos app for zone control I need more sonos connects but that's another topic (as well as adding sonos speakers for new zones etc). For now it's about my ability to use sonos to drive my existing 5 speaker sourround system. Th for any help.

I currently have a Sonos 5.1 system setup — Playbar, Sub, play:1. I'm considering purchasing a Connect to stream from a vintage amp to the existing setup. Is this possible without breaking the 5.1 functionality? I know this seems like an obvious question, just don't want invest and find the answer the hard way. Thanks.

I really like my sonos equipment. However, my whole house was wired for speakers in every room (ceiling, walls, patio) with the wiring centralized in a wiring closet/built in audio rack. Instead of purchasing a separate zone amp for every room/speaker pair, I would much rather buy one or two multi zone amps from Sonos. Any chance there is a multi zone amp on the horizon? Please, please, please!!!!

So it's Boxing day, and I've just received a lovely big SONOS Play:1 speaker for Christmas. I set the speakers up and try to find them on my system. Nothing. I do some research, trying to figure out why I can only play through SONOS app and verified programmes approved through the SONOS app. Why something which clearly cost more than a few pretty pennies is essentially useless for anything other than playing music. No live sound, no video sync, nothing but music through SONOS. So the decrepit old speakers I have had since 2000 are essentially doing a better job than the basic model of SONOS. Not only this but my cheap shower bluetooth speaker I bought for my boyfriend (£5.99) can do what this supposedly amazing modern and high quality technology cannot. Which is play ANY sound off of my computer or phone that I want it to. How is this a complicated concept and why, after literally years and years of community comments and wailings and clearly strong customer dissatisfaction hav

It was powered off for a while and when I re-applied power I just get a continuously flashing white light. I have tried a factory reset and just then get a continuously flashing orange/amber light. Removing and reapplying power reverts back to the continuously flashing white light! I can not see the device with my Sonos Controller.

I currently have a CONNECT and 2 speakers pairs in my house ... one pair Play1s .... one pair Play5s. I have the CONNECT placed next to my router so I can have a cable connection for best performance. It all works fine but I wanted to change things. I want to move my connect into another room where I have a receiver/CD so I can connect that as a source into the Line-In on the CONNECT. Doing so means my CONNECT will now make a WIFII connection to the router .. no longer a cable connection. The house is small and WIFGII reception is good through the house. Will I see any performance hit? Is this not recommended?

Hi, I wanted to know if you can connect to a Connect player with multiple devices? I currently have one of my Connects connected to an amp/speaker system through the coaxial connection, but could I also connect it to another speaker system using the analog plugs?

Hello, I'm putting a pair of speakers in the ceiling in our new house in the living room to jam Sonos. The Connect Amp will be in my AV closet a couple rooms away. We will have a TV on the wall in the living room. Can I just connect the left and right RCA jacks on the back of my TV with an extender cable to the left and right RCA jacks on the Connect Amp pictured below? If so how would I tell Sonos to use the TV as a source to send sound to the in ceiling speakers and control the volume with the TV remote? We will have an iPad mounted on the wall to control the Sonos music.

I have one Connect:Amp and two Play:1. The home theater is wired into the Connect:Amp through RCA line-in. The outdoor speakers are wired out through the speaker connections. The Connect:Amp and the outdoor speakers will play all music sources except line-in. The Play:1 speakers with play all music sources including Connect:amp line-in. Obviously line-in works, because I can get sound from it through the Play:1 speakers. Why can't I get the Connect:Amp speakers to play the Connect:Amp line-in. They play other sources.

Hi all As the name suggests when my play3 connects to my Wifi Range extender, I get an error message saying sonos doesn't work with Wifi extenders. Does anyone know the rationale behind this? Also, what are my options in terms of trying to get a speaker to work in the dead spots of my apartment in lieu of an extender? Thanks in advance Paul

I have a connect amp which has dropped off my network. I attempted to reboot this a few times and although hardwired to my network it does not reappear in the list of players, nor does it appear to obtain an ip address from the router. After a few attempts at simple reboots by switching off, disconnecting power for 30 seconds and then turning it back on, I decided to try a hard reset. When I hold down the mute button and reapply power, the unit flashes white/orange about five times and then returns to solid white. It does not appear to perform the full reset or go to flashing green at any point. Ive tried doing a factory rest both with and without speakers connected, and with/without LAN cable connected. Am I looking at having to replace this amp? Any help much appreciated.

I know there is a lot on here about Echo Dot/Sonos intergration but how will that work with a Play 1 when there is no line in or bluetooth? I have Play 1 in several rooms and an Echo Dot and would love to be able to do this. Echo is SO useful that I am thinking of getting rid of the Play 1 speakers and getting bluetooth enabled alternatives. Can't afford the Play 5 by the way!!

I have a shure wireless microphone. I want to play it through a wireless speaker. I do not have any amp yet or other peripherals. Can I and what do I need to be able to play a microphone through your speakers? Thanks. Also, what is the size of room spec for the 2 larger speakers? 15 by 20? etc. If you buy one of the largest ones, how big of a room could it cover? My family room is 20 by 30? Do I need 2 speakers? or more? thanks.

Hello Fellow Sonos users!!! Just bought mine CONNECT used and had a thought that would use separate voltage supply that is free of all interferences and also would keep the unit cooler. Well, I measured all voltage leads and one is full of nothing, black is ground, red is 3.3V, yellow is 15V and brown is full zero and nothing seems to switch it on, tried using pre-out with max volume, coax out, ethernet connectors and wlan and still brown keeps silent. Would some one know what it should have or is it used on somekind of monitoring or transformer switching?🆒

I'm considering getting a Sonos setup, but already have some nice wired speakers I want to keep in one of the rooms. My questions is, can I connect these to the Connect:Amp along with some Play 1 speakers and have them all play together? I'm worried there could be some delay between the wired speakers and the wireless speakers.

Hi, this topic and question has been asked before and is a wanted request for the users or potential users of a Sonos connect. We want to have the possibility to trigger an external amplifier connected to the Sonos connect from standby to ON as well as back to standby then not playingi music so we dont have to run the amp 24/7. Is this function now in the plans for future development and to be released in the near future? Software solution or new hardware (new connect). A new hardware with a 12v trigger seem to be a simple 2015 upgrade? 🙂
