Can SONOS systems play directly from a Mac iTunes without having to use the SONOS apps and update the SONOS music library via this app? The systems are connected to the same WIFi. If not, why not?

I'm just about to take the Sonus plunge. I have two different receivers in the house: A pioneer sc-65 with surround sound set-up and and a Denon AVR-2808 with a couple bookshelf Bose speakers. I'd like to utilize the existing speakers attached to both receivers. Is that possible? Would I just attach a Connect to reach of the two receivers? Would the music stay in sync? I also have a separate pair of Klipsch speakers sitting around....could those attach as well with a Connect-AMP? I'm just not sure if I'm limited to one connect or if multiple connects can work and stay in sync. thanks for the help!

My house has thick walls and wifi signal is always an issue, I of course consider buying Boost; however, what if it does not extend the signal sufficiently? Is there a way to add any other Boosts or other kind of extenders?

Recently experienced a close lightening strike and connect:amp connected to outdoor pool speaker is now blinking alternate amber and white lights. System recognizes amp but can't play music. Help!?

So here's the deal. I have 2 PLAY:5 (Gen 2) and have set it up in my living room in vertical orientation for listening to music, and have also connected the TV to one of the speaker using LINE-IN. The music listening is great, the TV part could do with some improvements, as all I am getting is STEREO sound. So, I will get a PLAYBASE, A SUB and 2 PLAY:1 to create the 5.1 surround system, and that will be my primary means of listening to TV. However, I also love my PLAY 5 for music, and would like to use the SUB to double up as part of the music experience. So what I would like to do is this: MUSIC Configuration: PLAY 5 + PLAY 5 + SUB TV: PLAYBASE + SUB + PLAY 1 + PLAY 1 Can I seamlessly setup the system so that the SUB automatically switches between the above configurations?

Hi there, I have a new Samsung TV which only has an optical audio port (not the old fashioned headphone socket). I have a Sonos Conect:amp, connected to speakers, which I want to connect to the TV so I can play TV sound over the speakers. I bought an optical audio cable and an analogue to digital audio converter. I've wired it all up as follows: 1. TV to converter using optical audio cable 2. Converter to Connect:amp using the two-socket (red and white) analogue cable. But when I turn the TV onto the optical audio output mode - and check on my Sonos app that line in is playing - I still can't get sound! Any idea what's going on? Any help greatly appreciated! Hi All, I was wondering if anyone had any information about the LOVE Turntable. It's a current Kickstarter Project which is really taking off. I have backed it as it looks very smart and a unique take at a turntable. Wondering if there are any thoughts for / against? The advert for it also states that it will be picked up as an input on the Sonos app without any adapters etc. Mostly, i'm just looking to find out if this is 100% accurate and going go happen and whether anyone at Sonos could confirm? I'd hate to buy it and find that it doesn't work with anything I have... I'm currently using an Echo via line in and all works pretty well. Just today though, I've noticed that the Echo is ungrouping my office and kitchen speakers (Echo in kitchen) as the Echo must be sending the odd pulse which is switching the kitchen to the line in input. Anyone know how to prevent this (save unplugging it which would certainly cure it!)? Thanks

Hi, I have a Connect Amp which I am planning to connect to a couple of in-ceiling speakers and an in-ceiling subwoofer. I purchased a Cambridge Audio C200B in-ceiling subwoofer only to find that the Connect Amp only works directly with active subwoofers. I want to understand whether I should get some kind of connector, or a subwoofer amp, or possibly have a rethink. I definitely want an in-ceiling subwoofer and I have yet to find an active one and so I am not quite sure what my options are. I have limited time because my builders are soon to board up the ceiling this week. I am also a complete dunce when it comes to this kind of thing, so I need it explained in very simple terms please. Hi, I have a Klipsch subwoofer, Sonos Playbar, 4 built-in wall speakers, and the Connect:amp. I’ve had a pair of Kef Ci130CR speakers running from a Connect Amp for a while now. They pair up brilliantly. I’d just added a pair of Kef Ci130QR speakers to a second Connect Amp, and it’s problematic. Randomly above 50% volume, and always above 80% the amp cuts out. - The CR speakers are 8ohm with a recommended amp of 10-80W - The QR ones are 6ohm with a recommended amp of 10-50W I guess the issue is that the Connect Amp is cutting out as at higher volumes it does not have enough power to push the QR speakers. Is that accurate? Any workarounds or do I need to source a new, higher output, amp (I do have a spare Connect lying around!). Thanks. Cheers, Ferg

Hello there, I wanted to know if I am the only one with the following need: I would like a CONNECT with only digital output because I want to use my receiver DAC. Of course nothing prevents me from using the CONNECT but I was wandering if without the analog part it could be possible to make this digital-only-CONNECT cheaper and smaller. For example I was thinking as small as some modern casting/streaming devices, where you can get power directly from a nearby USB plug. Also digital out could be the usual coax/optical but it could also be HDMI and it could be possible in this way to solve another issue that I saw in the forum: having the controller to power up the rest of the equipment. With HDMI I never touch my receiver, all the other devices turn it on/off through HDMI. And it could open the potential for streaming music videos....

Hi I have a Samsung smart TV hung on the wall on one side of my kitchen. On the other side of the room I have AE aego M satellite speakers mounted on the wall plugged into a sonos connect. I would love to have the TV sound through my aego m speakers. I've thought of a USB powered Bluetooth transmitter and receiver to get the sound to my sonos connect input but realise that latency on Bluetooth will make this rubbish. Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this? Thanks in advance Neil

I have an active network: devices being added and taken away, new sources of RF interference & neighbours changing wifi channels. A frequent piece of advice is "you must power absolutely everything in the network off and on again", or "power on and off Sonos devices". With a reasonably large house, or devices in awkward locations this can be hassle. It would be convenient if there was a remote restart switch that could cycle Sonos devices, say a "restart in X minutes".

Hello all, I've got 4 monitor audio ceiling speakers (6ohms) that id like to use with a connect amp, they will be in two zones in a larger room so sometimes either pair would be used and sometimes all four would be used together. Since I am using the SR2 125 amplifier from Sonance to power the set of eight speakers and sub woofer, should I be using the connect hub that does not amplify the signal further? I just want to make sure that I should not be using the connect amp. Thx

For anyone who is using their Play 5 Gen 2 speakers without floor stands and have them setting on a desk or counter this newly released Flexson Play 5 (Gen2) Desktop Stand are worth a look. When I purchased the Sonos Gen2 Play 5’s (configured in stereo pair w/Sonos Sub) no stands were available. Therefore, I purchased two garden style Marble Top Tables (27.75 H x 10.75 W x 10.75 D / Marble Top 0.5 H x 11 W x 11 D). Measurements are in inches. By the time Flexson introduced upright stands for the Play 5 Gen2 speaker I’d resigned myself to stick with the Marble Top Tables (which my wife liked better anyway). Hi, I currently own a Play 5 and a Bridge (both 3 years old) and I absolutely love the ease of use and the sound coming out of those speakers. The Bridge is in my living room next to the router and the Play 5 speaker is in the kitchen. I also use a separate, non-Sonos, system which consists of the following: In the living room: 1) NAD 3020 Receiver from the late 1980s - Has "Aux", "Phono", "Tuner", "Tape" inputs 2) Rega RP 1 turntable connected to the above NAD's Phono input 3) PSB Bookshelf speakers also wired into the above NAD In the bedroom: 1) In-wall speakers with homerun wiring that runs into the living room. They have their own volume control in the bedroom. But these speakers are not hooked up to anything so they are not in use right now.
