Hi I have a turntable with preamp and Playbar currently connected to TV. I know the way to connect the turntable is to use a Sonos Connect, however can I use a 2 into 1 optical unit plugging both TV and Turntable in and then use Playbar to play from turntable (obviously with TV off) Thanks
I am wondering if anyone is using the hdmi connection for anything other than connecting the TV ? I would like to connect the audio hdmi from a Samsung UHD player to it for CD playback. I am assuming that the internal DAC would take care of this via the hdmi input ? Would this always turn on the Amp whenever I turn on the UHD player ? My other alternative would be to invest in an external DAC unit and connect it to the RCA inputs using a analogue switch (I am already planning on using this input for my turntable). However, I am not up on DACs and don't really want a lot of added expense for the few CDs we listento. Any help would be appreciated.
So I originally started with my turntable hooked up to a connect and 2 powered speakers. Had an issue with the connect so I returned it and ended up going with a play 5. I feel like my turntable does not sound near a good through the line in on the play 5 as it did running through the connect. Is this just in my mind? I was thinking about possibly returning the play 5 and going with the new amp and a couple of passive klipsch speakers. Would the sound quality be any better on the new amp in this setup vs the connect. Would either option sound better than running it through the play 5?
I have been wondering for a few years now. Will there ever be a new Sonos Connect? Something comparable to the Bluesound Node 2 in sound quality and design. The Connect seems so hopelesly outdated.
I am wondering if it is possible to have 5.1 or 7.1 system with Sonos in my great room. This would be part of 14 zone system in a home that is currently being built.. Most of the other zones will have a pair of ceiling speakers running off a Sonos Connect:Amp. The 7.1 or 5.1 system would have either 4 or 6 Sonance ceiling speakers (140 watts max output) and front center channel speaker or the Sonos Playbar and a subwoofer. I would want to use the Sonos iPad App to control the system when playing music, but use a URC remote when operating the television. Do not want to have to use both. Want to avoid using a remote to choose music source before using the Sonos App. Wondering if there is a receiver that would allow this or a way to do this. Would the the Onkyo “Works with Sonos” receivers allow this? Would another option would be to use four ceiling speakers with new Sonos:Amp with Sonos playbar and subwoofer. Would the Sonos:Amp be able to power the four Sonance ceiling s
New hardware idea: I would love an attractive, wireless physical volume knob that could be wall mounted with screws, or just attached to a piece of furniture with double sided tape. The knob would be configured to control volume on one or more locations. For instance, I have ceiling speakers in the bathroom. Would be nice to crank the volume or mute it with this hardware.
I have a Infinity PS312 and i cannot get any base when connected to the connect-amp. Please any idea on how to fix this issue?
Hello all - I know the AMP is new, so I'm hoping someone can help here. I don't know if I have things set up optimally, so please bare with me as I describe my setup and issues. Current Room Setups - multiple Sonos One's thoughout the house (dining, kitchen, bathroom, and Beam+Sub in bedroom. Room in Question - Living Room - 2 Play 5's functioning as L/R channel pair, plus 1 Sub - 1 New AMP as Line In Selector for: - 1 ARC from TV - 1 Line input from Record player (not yet connected) - Note* I'm not using the AMP for any traditional speakers, so nothing is hooked up to the banana plugs Configuration: - I created a "room" for the Play 5's and the Sub, and a separate room for the AMP. I did not find anyway to add to Play 5's as Stereo mains in the AMP setup, only configurable as surrounds or a sub. Due to this, I'm playing the AMP room, and the Play 5's room grouped together. Here are my questions: - TV Volume control: When I use the remote on the TV
I am worried the answer to this question is one pair only. Anyone know ?
Hey everyone I’m new to the community and have a few questions. 1. I’m going to be getting bowers and Wilkins 603 s3 floorstansing speakers for 2 channel music but it will Also be hooked into my tv. Would the Sonos amp be a good pair with those speakers? 2. During the set up for the amp, does it allow me to set the speakers as “small”?. I know I can manually set the Sonos subwoofers crossover, but can I let the speakers play only the high frequencies or will it force to to play them at full range?
I have a turntable, a phono preamp, and several Play 5s, Play 3s and Play 1s as well as Sonos Sub and Playbar throughout the house. When I connect from pre amp to Play 5 using line in, I can get it to play on most of my sosnos speakers. In my Living room where I have Playbar, Sub and 2 Play 1s as rear channels, only one of those play 1s have any sound. No Sub sound either...Which makes that room pretty weak on sound. When I switch back to any of the digital sources in the sonos app, they all sound great. Any ideas on how to get the sound out of all the speakers? Thanks in advance
How do you hook up essential turntable to connect?
I have some questions about the Sonos Sub. I am thinking of getting a sub for my living room Sonos setup, but it is not entirely clear for me what the ideal setup will be. As I understand it, the Sub is aware of which Sonos speakers it ie paired with and adjusts the base and volume accordingly. My Sonos setup in the living room consists of two Play:5 II (stereo pair), which I use for streaming music and a Sonos beam for my TV-set. Sometimes I am using both the Beam and the play 5 speakers when I listen to music and sometimes I only use the Play 5 setup for music. As I understand it, the SUB is connected to a speaker group - eg. If I group it to my Beam, the Sub will cover the deep tones and let the Beam concentrate of middle and high tones. Further more it seems that changing the Sub to another Speaker set takes some time. (is this correct) and will I have to do the truetone setup every time I change the attachment for the sub? I will of course want to use the Sub f
Hi everyone. In your opinion, is it possible to connect a CD player and a turntable to the Play 5 via a switch or switch?
I'm a little surprised pre-orders opened up and nobody is taking about it 🙂 Delivery by Dec 3rd according to Sonos which is awesome. I'm currently using a Beam and two Sonos Ones for rears and two stereo HomePods for music in the living room and bedroom as well as smart speakers for Homekit etc. I was planning on buying a Sonos sub tomorrow since they will be on sale for $599. I'm not sure if I will do that now since I am getting the Amp so soon and can use any sub so there seems to be little advantage to the Sonos sub. The Elacs are on sale right now so I could get tower speakers and sub from them for $669 from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4WFWZF/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DL7XWBZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 I will continue to use the Sonos Ones as rears. Any thoughts on any of that? Any advantage to buying a Sonos sub for the app? I can't think of one. What are other peopl
I am looking into your system to use for my home theater system but I am wanting more sound for my front channel than just a playbar. My question is can I buy the playbar and connect two of your play:5 speakers as my front channel using the playbar as my center and then also connect two play:1 speakers as my rear and also connect your sub to the system as well?
I have set up the Connect to my WiFi and want to use the optical cable method to connect to the Denon. I want to connect the optical cable to the Digital Audio (IN) 2 Media Player. I connect the cable but no sound comes out of the already wired speakers. Is there a setting I have to change?
I have recently added to my sonos system, but the 2 newest play 2's sound different to the one existing play 1 I had, ie. the older one seems to have a more rounded "Bassier" sound than the 2 newer ones, do they "run in over time" or has the design changed ? all settings have been reset to default etc.... any help/advice appreciated
I really enjoy listening to music through my Sonos speakers but it is not always practical to do so (Sometimes others in the house make a lot of noise, sometimes there are collitions over who wants to listen to what - I was enjoying listening to music in the bedroom then my wife wanted to watch tv.) Also, I live in an apartment so when I want to hear some music at a louder volume, I need to use headphones or do so at a time when teh neighbours are not around. Having a sonos headset that could be connected just like another set of the speakers would be great - They could appear to the controller the same as any other speaker (except for the name and perhaps add them to a room called "roaming") Ideally they would be wireless, over-the-ear style, have the same sonos control buttons on the side (Volume, Play/pause/skip), and possibly be noise cancelling. They could operate just the same as any speaker. For the same sound quality that I am used to with the Sonos range, I would pay
I've scoured the internet and this forum for help with my issue and feeling hopeless. My Setup: * Turntable (Orbit turntable) is connected to Sonos Connect via the IN ports. * Playbar connected to TV via optical cable. Note: Playbar works fine with TV and other audio stream services via Sonos app. * Play:1. Works fine with TV and other audio services I've double checked the preamp on my turntable is ON. The RCA cable is connected correctly (red to red and white to white) and connected to the IN ports on the connect. And the Line-In Source Level is set to 10. However, when I drop the needle, I don't hear any sound coming from the Playbar or Play:1. If I max out the volume on the Sonos app, I can hear sound coming from the speakers; probably 10% volume. Backstory: Rewind a few months, everything worked fine. Fast-forward, I have new apartment, new router, and no sound from turntable. Could the Connect or preamp have broken during the move? Is there something else I could
I have got a sonos connect and a Anthem MCA-5 amp buy the amp does seem to have anywhere on it to adjust volume (it is old and heavy) and there is no screen for showing volume. Do I still use variable on the connect or in this case would I use fixed? I tried it one variable but don’t seem to hear anything but I’m worried if I put the connect to fixed that it will blow my speakers or do something else wrong...
Hello, How can I link / connect my Google Mini to control my Sono Connect:Amp ? (My mini has no line out). Thanks.
How do I connect the Sonos connect directly to Samsung Smart Tv?
I have just added a Sonos Boost to my existing Sonos system. I added it using the iPad version of the Sonos controller software which was straight forward. Can anyone tell me if that's it? Seems too good to be true. Do I need to do anything to connect my Sonos speakers to the Boost (i.e. Disconnect them from the standard wifi network they have been working on) or is it all sorted in those simple set up steps for the Boost?
Are there any available diagrams that show options for connecting turntable to the sonos system? What is the preferred method? Why does the playbar not have more inputs? Very discouraging for us trying to build a sonos system.
