I like the idea of the Connect, so I can add Sonos functionality to my existing Surround Sound system... But it seems rather expensive for what you actually get from it. Why doesn't the connect feature an IR blaster? This would allow users to use the Sonos App to turn on their receiver and switch to the correct input when they want to listen to music in that room. Without it, using the Sonos Connect seems primitive compared to what Sonos is trying to offer. It forces you to have to turn on your receiver, switch to the correct input (if needed), set an appropriate volume level (if needed), and then finally go into the Sonos App to get music or other content going. While this is not a huge deal, it can make starting music on a Connect much more difficult for people who are not as technically inclined. For $350, there is no reason it shouldn't also be able to turn on my Denon Receiver and switch it to the correct input, while also allowing better volume controls by letting me a

From the description on monoprice you can wire to a single channel at 4ohms. So instead of getting two sonos connect amps to power each set, could i just get one sonos amp, 125w per channel, and power each set at 4 ohms off each channel? Any help would be appreciated

I have Input from Sonos Connect to Line Out on Zone 2 of receiver. The sound on my TV is connected to the receiver so when I watch TV, the sound feeds to the wired speakers and Play 1 speakers. But, how can I play music from my Sonos app so that the sound also feeds to the speakers connected on my receiver? Right now, when I play music from my Sonos app, the sound only goes to my Play 1 speakers.

I have a Sonos Connect to my receiver and a pair of Play 1 speakers. When I power off my receiver, is there a way to also have my Sonos Connect and speakers to power off?

Hi guys, I'm hoping I could get some help/advice. We're building a home and had built in speakers as an upgrade. We were told to get a sonos amp that could support 6 speakers, but now after doing some research it just doesn't exist. We will have 2 speakers on main floor, then two upstairs in one master and two in the other master so 6 total. I've been told that I can somehow connect 4 speakers to one Sonos box and it would work perfectly fine... Is this correct?? If so, would they all play the same music on one zone? Can I seperate say the two speakers on main floor and two upstairs on one Sonos box? We weren't prepared to buy more then one because our builder told us we only needed one, so we're a little upset about it, but I'm just looking for the best option to at least have 4/6 run in if possible. After working fine for a couple of months, my sub stopped working. I have reconfigured it to the router and the white light is on showing that it is connected to my Beam. Not sure what to do here, it is not a signal strength issue. Ran diagnostics and sent in #2018153387. Thanks in advance for the help....

Hi Guys, I like turning up the volume when i'm home alone, listening to a favorite album or just getting excited over some new music. But I also recieve a lot of phonecalls during the day, which usually has me running head-less around to, either, get to the "pause" button on my sonos-player, or fumbling with my phone to access the Sonos app and mute the sound( sometimes resulting in missing the call). So here's my suggestion. Why don't you incorporate an automatic mute or pause function of the music playing, when there is an incoming call on the device, last used as a sonos-controller? I think that would be awesome!

Bought a Beam, Sub and Two sonos Ones today. The Beam is loud and crystal clear. I was worried it was going to be not powerful enough. The sound with the Sub and Beam alone is incredible. The clarity for music is amazing. It has a fuller field than my Denon Receiver, 3 Orbs and sub. I hooked it up to my older Sony Bravia 46” LCD TV via HDMI Arc tried out Netflix via chromecast into one of the HDMI ports on the TV. I think it’s coming through in stereo based on the Netflix app telling me the movies are in stereo. Still sounds good so I am not sure what I am actually getting. I think once I move this to the basement with my new TV and native Netflix app it may be even better-not sure though-I am not very techy. The two Sonos One’s I have upstairs as a separate room for now. Different music in each room is amazing flexibility. Overall very happy with what I have bought so far and the setup was awesome/easy. I've seen a bunch of threads on using Connect or Play 5 to connect up a single audio device. My Sonos replaced my entire home theater system so I don't have a good way to connect my CD player and turntable. I may go NAS some day, but not in the near future, so I want to keep utilizing the CD player. Here's my current setup: Playbar, sub, and two One's for surround. The Playbar is connected via optical cable to my LG OLED TV. The TV has an RCA input (via adapter) and I have connected the turntable to it. However, the TV shuts the sound down after a few minutes, likely because there is no video component coming in. That leaves me with no way to connect the turntable or the CD changer to the Sonos network. Am I correct that I could buy the Connect along with an RCA selector switch (4 in, 1 out) and the Connect would play whichever input is selected out to all of the speakers? Any conflict with the Playbar being connected via the optical cable to the TV? What happens if the

I recently purchased Sonos and Netgear Orbi. I had a sonos play:1 hooked up wirelessly via my airport extreme for a few days and it worked flawlessly. Once I received my Orbi, I hooked up my connect and wired to one of the orbi satellites. Since then I've had issues with sonos. I believe at least one orbi satellite is defective as it is creating all kinds of issues. Hello - The speaker terminal port of my connect:amp broke off this past weekend. I can replace it on my own (I have experience building amplifiers) but I do not know how to disassemble the connect:amp housing. I cannot locate any screws on the bottom of the unit. Can anyone provide a guide or set of instructions to open the amp housing, without damaging? Thanks! ABaur

I have recently established a fiber connection through the Danish provider Waoo. The fiber is great and stable. However, I often find that my Play5s (gen. 2) drop out of the Sonos network. I have to install the speaker again, which feels ridiculous. I was therefore thinking that perhaps a Sonos Boost might help. BUT I want to make sure that I can connect the Boost to an AirTies 4920. Any one who knows?

Is it possible to buy two of the new Sonos Amps and run each as a mono block, one driving the left speaker and one driving the right speaker? Can it work with or without pre-amp? Part II - I want to put a CD player and my turntable on a switcher so I can choose my input. Does the CD player need a pre-amp?

I currently have an Optoma HD31UST projector which acts as my TV and Chromecast device. It has a built in speaker with very poor audio quality. I would like to hook up my two Sonos Play:1 speakers to the projector via a Sonos Connect. The projector has an analog audio out so that should work with the Sonos Connect. I'm just wondering if there will be a delay in the audio, as it will need to go wirelessly via the Connect to the speakers. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance! Stijn

I have recently purchased Sonos Beam and now my chromecast is dropping out when using different streaming apps (is Netflix and Kayo) when I disconnect beam from hdmi arc this stops the chromecast from dropping out. Sort of defeats the purpose of having the beam though lol. Any ideas???

Hi all, Any suggestions to over come my issue, I use a connect, and connect a dj-mixer on line-in to play the sound to my Sonos system. The problem is that the connect gives a quite big delay in the sound stream, that it not appreciated when being the house dj. And the delay increases when I start to group different zones. Any suggestions to minimize that delay ?? I can't understand the delay, due to when you have the playbar, sub and surround speakers, there is "no" delay (noticeable) in the sound stream from the TV (delay have not been adjusted in TV) . So obviously the equipment can handle it without that noticeable big delay... Caio! /B

my play 5 emits a static hiss from the speaker when music nothing is playing. there is nothing attached to the line-in and the hiss continues no matter how long all music services have stopped playing for. i have tried unplugging the power supply and replugging it to no avail. my diagnostic support number is 507808388. many thanks for any help as the hiss is extremely frustrating!

Super simple question (I'm sure), but I can't find a clear answer... how does the Sonos AMP select the audio source? I don't see that there is a user selection between streaming audio (Spotify) vs. HDMI vs. RCA inputs... so does the AMP just play the last used source? Meaning if the audio source is from streaming Spotify, and the TV is turned on, then does the AMP automatically switch to the HDMI audio source? and vice-versa (TV is playing but then someone plays Spotify to the AMP... does it just switch automatically?) Hi everybody I would like to hear about experiences from connecting 4 speakers to a Connect:AMP. Both good and bad! I’m building a new house and are able to wire exactly as I’d like. I would like to connect 4 B&W M-1 8-Ohm speakers to my Connect:AMP. Hello! I am hoping you can help! My husband and I have just purchased a new smart tv with sonos speakers. We have the play bar in the living room and a second speaker in the kitchen (we live in Manhattan - small space, open concept). The sound is great. However, I'm having a problem. I need to be able to hook up the wireless speakers to my computer. The one big function I need is for the speakers to be able to hook up to my laptop and play whatever I need played from my browser. There has GOT to be a way to do this very basic thing - using the wireless speakers as better/louder speakers for my laptop. I take a lot of classes online and need to be able to listen to my lectures while cooking dinner, etc. This is non-negotiable, and it's a very basic request so I don't know why I can't do it.
