I have one large floor speaker in my garage that I want to wire to my amp. The amp will only power one speaker.How should I wire it?

Back in March I had received my new Port to replace one of my Connects. When I received the port, I did a sound test of it and my connect still running S1. The sound was excellent, very detailed and full. After a couple of days, I went ahead and installed the S2 operating system. I have been streaming most of my music these days and I’ve gone from being happy to almost regret as far as sound quality. I have S2 compatible Connect that I ended up switching from the new port, and I have found the Connect sounds a tad better, but not like it did prior to switching to S2.  I have always run my connect through a hybrid Dac that goes into my system, and I just find the sound quality is really compressed sounding, the low end is lackluster and the highs are not near as detailed as they were before I ever started to upgrade due to another connect no longer being supported. Basically the sound was night and day from my original Sonos that I’ve run for the last 7 years. I also did a trial of Qubu

I have my turntable (Pro-Ject: T1 BT) plugged into the Port and when playing a record the autoplay does not start. However, I can go into the Sonos app and select manually Line-In as the source and the record will play into the room to my Beam.  I have rebooted the system and no dice. Pretty frustrating that Autoplay doesn’t work and having to select the source manually every time. 

I am trying to connect sound bar to TV. I have don’t have any more HDMI ports on TV. So I am using the optical cable with HDMI cable, went thru all steps and app says connected by there is no sound going from tv into sound bar. 

Hi - is there any way that I can stop my TV (LG OLED) from always connecting and playing audio to my Sonos Amp through HDMI ARC? When I manually select the internal speakers on my TV, within a few seconds it reconnects to the Amp via ARC.I’d turn off the Amp if I could but it doesn’t have an off button! The reason I want sound through the TV speakers is because they are much quieter and we don’t hear them when the kids get up early and start watching TV.Thanks

Hi All,Newbie here, I've just set up a new system (Arc + Sub + Amp to inceiling  3rd party speakers) it is all working great and sounds awesome, a lot better then the old surround system, i wanted to hook up a turntable to play through this system. Through reading i got the easist and cheapest way was to get a connect for a line in, then play through the room.  So I got a zp80 cheap through a mate who upgraded, but have discovered it only works through the s1 appIs there a way I can make this work? My other thoughts are getting 2 one sl's to replace the ceilings and use the amp for the turntable Or Buy a port to swap out the zp80Thoughts?

Hello. I’m more than happy to airplay from Apple Music to my Sonos speakers but I have a question for you. I’ve been taking a look to Cambridge audio cxn v2 and the new Evo unit (this one is a bit redundant as it comes with an internal amplifier). The idea is to haga a device that I can plug an hdd unit with flac music and connect it to the Sonos speaker. As an aside, it also provides a display where you can see the cover art, title etc. which is also neat. Questions are: can the Cambridge audio be connected to Sonos via wifi or only via line in? are there other solutions that provide a display and the capability of playing hdd files?thanks ! 

MorningDoes anyone know if the sound quality on my sub would sound better underground or above ground?

I'm sure this isn't the first  time this has been brought up, but does anyone else have a need for input only devices to bring sources into their Sonos system.  I am thinking an HDMI dongle that would plug into the arc port of your tv so you could use a stereo pair of speakers, a soundbar isn't ideal in my application.  Also I am sure an Audio input device would be handy for turntables, cd players etc.  I know there is the port but in lots of applications you don't need the output.  I guess at the end of the day a port with an HDMI port would cover it all, they are just so damn expensive.

I have a SONOS ARC + SUB  in one room of a LARGE home.In another part of the home I have a rack of SONOS AMPS driving multi room audio.I tried adding the AMP driving the ceiling speakers to the room where I installed the SONOS ARC and sub. I cannot get the surrounds to Join…. the SONOS tech tells me the ARC uses a 5Ghz band to communicate DIRECTLY with the SONOS AMP for the surround channels.  and that the AMP in the rack must be too far away for this 5GHz signal -coming form the ARC to reach.    Huh? why isnt the ARC the  WIFI network?I tried hard wiring the ARC and the SONOS AMP to the switch.. still wont join.. any ideas ? what is really happening? do I REALLY need to move the SMP into the same room as theARC? - seems strange to have to do this.

I’ve been keeping an eye on refurbished subs on the Sonos UK site and have never seen any in stock. I’ve been checking in monthly for about a year but it’s always out of stock! Is this a fruitless endeavour? Do they never have refurb sub stock in the uk? I could stretch to £499 to bolster my Play 5 pair but £699 is just not really an option, unfortunately. I’d rather buy through Sonos than the second hand market. What are people’s thoughts?

Is there any way to hide Port from the speaker/room list when it’s only being used as an input? I have it connected to a turntable but nothing connected to the output.

If i have an arc, sub gen3 and 2 one sl can I get a would they work with the Sonos amp if i wanted to connect a non Sonos sup to the amp! Would they all work together? Plus i have theater seats with sound shakers in them that require being hooked to a amplifier  

Hi my new Sonos amp continues to disconnect from the Sonia system. I had spent over 6hrs with Sonos help trying to resolve the issue (amp connected via Ethernet cable) only to be advised that I need to set up a separate mesh network for it to work. Well I have now done this with a tp link AC1300 whole home mesh and I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM!! There was never a problem with the first gen amp. I am sooo fed up with Sonos now that after being an advocate for years I am advising people not to bother. Have spent a small fortune in upgrading and have a system that is not fit for purpose.Are any of you able to help? The mesh signal is really strong in the room where the amp is. It it continues to drop out from the system I am at my wits end

I’m trying to connect my onkyo system (housing analog cd, phono, aux inputs) so that it provides a single output to the Sonos port…can this be done? 

Once again Sonos chooses to punish its customer base.  When S3 is released, be prepared to have to scrap your existing stuff and give Sonos loads more of your cash. If I were an investor in Sonos, I'd sell my stock right now.I've just bought Roam. Big mistake. It messes up my current system, a mixture of S1 and S2 components. I don't know if I can get Roam working or will have to return it.

I'm using a sonos port which is connected to my recordplayer. The Port is connected via a LAN cable to my router (Sonosnet channel 1) and the music has been set to compressed...and is played via multiple One'sStill I'm losing audio; The music sometimes is not played for 10-20 seconds before it starts playing again.Also the sonos s2 app (on my Iphone) states that it can't connect to SonosAny idea how to resolve this? Eventhough sonos is wired, can it have something to do with my wifi?

I want to update me system to s2 but the amps seem to be continuously back ordered. Wondering if it would be possible to add a Sonos port to each of my zp120s? Not ideal but they seem to be available and I would save $2k.

So I am moving from Arc(Sub) to a stereo setup with Amp and Sub.First of all would like to confirm... The Sub pairs with the Amp wirelessly as with a soundbar, through the app? How does crossover work? Does the Amp detect a 2.1 setup and adjusts a default crossover? If so is it adjustable (70Hz 100Hz etc). Much appreciated. 

Plan to power my B&W LM 1’s with my Connect 1 amp. Will use my wonderful Denon DCD 1560 and, I hope,Qobuz.  I don’t want to add on to the Sonos hookup that runs elsewhere. Two question: the office room for this is going to need its own router, and the Connect has lost its power chord. (It couldn’t be me.)  Would welcome suggestions and a power cord for sale.

Hey Sonos Engineers! I know this has been touched upon. I previously submitted this request to support and they encouraged me to share here to keep the conversation going. Is there any chance we could implement a soft switch for line-in audio to bypass the computer for "delay disable" functionality. I understand and appreciate the reason for the delay. However, I'm running turntables through a mixer and into the line-in of the PLAY:5. Can't teach my son to mix records with that delay, and since we're set-up in a communal space, my wife is not too keen on bringing out the old mix monitors. Can you dig it? Can we figure out a way to manually disable the delay on an individual speaker basis? Otherwise love the gear! Thanks! Here's quote from customer support. I really wish the Sonos Amp software would support true low-level output for subwoofer and not just LFE like today. I would like to use the crossover filter on my sub instead of the filter in the Amp. I’d like to send full range to my front speakers even with a sub connected, as my fronts can go a lot deeper than the 50 Hz which is the minimum crossover in the Amp settings. The filter in the Amp also color the sound pretty badly. I don’t know what kind processing it does, but the sound gets bright and muddy.Since the Amp is a product not aimed at the most average consumer, but someone with at least slightly higher demand on sound quality, I really think the option to bypass the built-in filter of the Amp should  be enabled. You don’t need to be an audiophile to appreciate that.

I want to order a new gen2 Play 5 on the upgrade program but it is over the VAT threshold value.  The check out screen does not show the VAT content so am I likely to get charged an additional 20% by HMRC or does SONOS reduce the invoice price by the 20%?
