I want to update me system to s2 but the amps seem to be continuously back ordered. Wondering if it would be possible to add a Sonos port to each of my zp120s? Not ideal but they seem to be available and I would save $2k.

+15MY OPINION ONLY: nobody flame me please. I personally have hated the amp models - the Port or Connect with an external amp has always seemed more flexible, especially if you need several of them. Using a surplus ZP120 as a basic power amp sounds like a pretty good idea in your case. If it dies, you can replace it with any number of low priced and efficient Class D amps.
One caveat - the 70ms delay on the ZP120’s analog input may cause problems, especially if that zone is audible from any S2 player.
