optical cable

I am trying to connect sound bar to TV. I have don’t have any more HDMI ports on TV. So I am using the optical cable with HDMI cable, went thru all steps and app says connected by there is no sound going from tv into sound bar.

Have you checked your TV settings? What model TV do you have? Is the optical cable fully inserted into the optical port on your TV? Did you remove the lens cap on the optical adapter?
