Hi,We are midst renovating a 30s house with 2550mm ceiling height. We have a Sonos Amp and 4 ceiling speakers.Looking for a bit of advice on ceiling speaker locations for the attached plan - trying to figure out what the best option would be and it it's worth running the two pairs at 99 degrees and setting them to Duel Mono mode. It's worth mentioning that there will be a dining table and chairs going inline with the pendant light at the bottom of the plan. Thanks in advance  Pat

I've owned a Sonos Amp for a few years - hooked up to a turntable and via eARC for surround, running passive L/R speakers, 3rd party sub, and One SLs as surrounds. I would love to be able to complete the set up with a centre speaker, and since its not possible to connect a passive, I feel like the ability to add a sonos speaker (Ray, Beam, Era etc.) as a dedicated centre channel would be incredible. Unfortunately it seems this isn't possible currently (?), so I like to make a feature request to be able to pair an additional sonos speaker to a Sonos Amp as a dedicated centre channel (I would picture this being similar to set up as setting up surrounds with the Amp).Thanks!

I‘m thinking of getting 6 ceiling speakers in my open living/dining/kitchen rooms (total 60m2). However, I‘m not sure how to place them. We have no TV in the living room and generally my wife wants background music. However, I guess a stereo setup if possible would still sound more lively. Please find the layout below and excited to hear your input. my idea so far:- 2 speakers left/right of the sofa, to have nice stereo listening sound in living room- 2 speakers continuing left/right of the dining table (left matching left of living room zone)- 1 speaker (having stereo) in the kitchen (also possible to place 2, but such a small space)or should I put 4 speakers in living room?Many thanks  

I purchased a house with an existing Sonos Amp & speaker system.  There is new wifi service in the house.  How do I connect to the system and start to use it on new wifi?

i want to say as an avid sonos user, where i have 20+ items across multiple locations, the app still has a lot to be desired. just an hour ago, i purchased a brand new sonos amp and attempted to set it up wireless on my network. the app failed to connect to the amp and when it finally did, the amp was added but i got the dreaded message that the amp won’t be found until it is rebooted. multiple reboots and multiple resets and i still couldn’t get the amp to add. only when i physically plugged in an ethernet cable did the amp setup and begin a software upgrade process.this should be a simple basic process to add an item wirelessly. years later this app still struggles to add devices cleanly. all that and i'm not even mentioning the constant software glitches i get trying to use spotify connect with a sonos amp. it connects 1/3 of the time and when it does, i get lucky if a song plays on lossless without stopping somewhere inbetween. note my router is 10 feet from the amp. coin

I have a TV with  beam gen2 with 2 x era 100 as surround speakers, v. happy with this setup.In another room I have my existing stereo which includes a turntable.If I buy a Sonos Port, can I take the line out(tape feed) from my amp into the port and have it stream to the sonos speakers in the other room? I don’t mind if the music just comes out of the beam or just the era 100s 

The Sonos Port is designed to be connected to external audio devices, it is the sole purpose of this device. Those external audio devices are likely to add latency due to audio processing. It makes no sense to expect users to remove audio processing just to have the port be able to almost be in sync with other sonos devices in the house.  To resolve this, the sonos port should have negative delay.   This is how I believe it should work. Obviously adding negative (future) delay is impossible. When a Sonos Port is configured with a negative delay of say 60ms, and it is joined into a group with other Sonos devices, the OTHER devices should have a positive delay of 60ms added to them, which would allow the port to be in sync with the entire group.  When the Sonos Port is removed from the group, they would remove that added positive delay. I know this has been discussed in other topics which are all closed now, but this device really takes a hit when it can’t

I just want to access the Sonos 1 App using an old Sonos amp but it keeps reverting to the newer app?

BIG delay sound in mode line in "jack" on PC

My setup is a Beam and Era 300’s ( no sub) in surround sound mode in one room . In other rooms, I have Era 100’s. I woudl like to add an AT-LP3XBT turntable to the mix.I could direct connect the turntable to the Beam, but not the other speakers. Is it possible to:Direct connect the Beam and through it include all of the other speakers? Wirelessly do the same thing? Other alternative?

Have seen numerous comments on setting up a record player but need to add a receiver to the mix for signal boost. I have Kenwood KD-3070 turntable with RCA jacks and a Onkyo TX-SV444 receiver with many input/output ports. See pictures. I am guessing I connect the turntable to receiver (RCA) then receiver to ? to connect to my SONOS 100 speakers. Looking for guidance please with clear non-audiophile description. what connects to what description. I would assume that the connection from the new SONOS device would connect to SONOS speakers via WiFi? Thank You very much for input.

I was playing with my living room group which includes an Arc, sub 3 and in ceiling surrounds powered by the Sonos amp. My intention was to get a line in through the amp from my turntable (Crosley). After some research I discovered Sonos hides the line in on the amp when it’s connected as surrounds to the system. So I disconnect the surrounds from the system and used the line in on the amp. To my surprise, the line in started playing from the Arc and sub 3!  This is essentially the outcome I wanted, just with the surrounds in the mix as well and not having to screw with the groups every time I want to do this. But I was not expecting the line in to play from the Arc at all given it was a line in to the amp which connects to the in ceiling surrounds. So I guess my question is why is Sonos not allowing Line in with the surrounds connected, since it’s obviously possible. I’m looking for speakers to pair with my Sonos Amp. I’m looking at the Dali Menuet SE, KEF LS50 Meta or B&W 706 s3.  Has anyone tried any of these speakers with a Sonos amp and if so what are their thoughts? Alternatively does anyone have any other speakers they can recommend.FYI I mainly use the amp for my home cinema and listen to music now and again.  I would love to hear people’s thoughts?

Just received my Sonos Port yesterday to replace my Connect.I was in 2 minds given some of the reviews. First thing is the size only about half the size of the Connect.I am really impressed the sound quality is excellent. Indeed the negatives in reviews have not surfaced!Early days but highly recommended, well done Sonos 👏👏👏

Hi. I am looking for some wisdomI have a sonos ONE in the kitchen which i really like. Recently i have done an update as there was some difficulty with the sonos app finding the speaker ( i was still able to mostly find the speaker on spotify)Since then it seems the speaker is invisible to the app and to spotify. My wifi set up is with the BT router in the lounge (other side of an old brick internal wall from the sonos speaker) and a BT wiFi Disc extender in the room above the kitchen to reach the loft office. From my reading the sonos speaker systems are disrupted by having the wifi extender with the same SSID - I have read that you cant change the name of the WiFi disc as it just repeats out the wifi signal. So it seems the option is to Buy a mesh network - £250 ishbut…I was wondering...if sonos use sonosNET can i plug a sound bar into the TV and the wifi router and then the sonos ONE in the kitchen should attach to that network and

Hi! I purchased an Era 100 to line-in for my Audio Technica turntable. I also bought the Sonos USB-C to RCA (3.5) adaptor. Furthermore, I bought a headphone-to-RCA 3.5 (female and male) connector piece off amazon. I tried connecting the Sonos connector to the RCA connector I bought online and the pieces fit together but they are “loose” and no music is playing through the Era 100. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have updated the app and system as well.

Hi,I have a facility with 5 Sonos Ports. each in different floor. each Port connected to dedicated Amp and speakers.All Ports reside on the same network (VLAN)the need is to be able to make the 1st Port determine the music that would be played through the rest 4 Port devices.Is that possible to do through using the Port devices only?thanks 

How to reconnect sonos boost

I’ve been using Sonos devices since long and I’ve always preferred to wire them because, well, I wire everything whenever possible (less radio noise, more reliable, some rooms don’t have good wifi signal, etc). I’m saddened to discover that the new models force me to buy extra adapters (I suppose other not-Sonos adapter won’t work) just to connect the home speakers to the ethernet network. It’s actually extra annoying because Amazon don’t sell them and the Sonos store don’t deliver to freighter services (as Amazon does) so I can’t get them where I live (Dominican Republic).If you know other shops who sell the combo adapter please let me know, thanks. 

How many ceiling speakers can I connect to one amp?

Hi, I have a large room (4.5m by 10m with 3m high ceilings) and I want to install in-ceiling, 8 inch Sonos speakers. I would really appreciate advice on whether two pairs would be enough, whether to go with one or two amps and how best to position them. The room will be divided into two zones front of the long side and back of the long side. One half a sitting area and one half a dining area. Thanks!

I recently purchased the in line  3.5mm headphone to usb-c adaptor so could connect my headphones to the Apple 16 iPhone. However, it does not work. The sound just plays on the phone. Have I purchased the wrong adaptor

Hi everybody,  we are conducting extensive renovations on our house and I thought having a pair of the 152mm sonos architectural speakers in the ceiling of the bathroom would be a good idea.  The issue is- although the bathroom is quite spacious with 3m high ceilings it does feature a shower and a larger bathtub.We did include an automated fan and exhaust system, but I am worried about the humidity damaging the speakers.Does anyone have experience installing these ceiling speakers in bathrooms? Is it possible or would the speakers get damaged?
