I have a TV with  beam gen2 with 2 x era 100 as surround speakers, v. happy with this setup.

In another room I have my existing stereo which includes a turntable.

If I buy a Sonos Port, can I take the line out(tape feed) from my amp into the port and have it stream to the sonos speakers in the other room? I don’t mind if the music just comes out of the beam or just the era 100s

Yes, either the Port or a speaker with the line-in option will share a locally connected source to other Sonos.

You can use any (not set up as a surround) Sonos with a line-in port or that accepts the Sonos 3.5 mm to USB C audio input dongle to play from your tape-out jacks. If that is all you want something like an Era-100SL might be cheaper.

If you want to hear your Sonos music on the old hi-fi too then the Port is the best solution.

You can't easily switch the Beam's surrounds to a stereo Pair so I wouldn't consider that an option.

When playing music on the Beam and surrounds you have the option of Full or Ambient modes, try both and use the one you like. Personally I like Ambient for listening and Full when I have more people and the wider sound field and more even volume is nice.

Thanks Stanley, the goal for using the port was to avoid wires between existing stereo setup and the room with the tv in, ie the port stream wirelessly from old kit to the beam/era setup. Is that possible?

Best Wishes
