Voice control and smart home

Does sonos voice pout?  I feel like it is a petulant brat.  As long as it is able to comply with my command, it remains eager to serve.  As soon as it cannot, it just ignores me.  These are not complex demands.  They are things like “Hey sonos, play Jazz.” I know it is still listening because I can see the little green light winking on the speaker (Beam).  After it pouts for awhile, sometimes overnight, it will cheerfully begin responding to my requests again.  Restarting the app and even deleting and reloading voice does not solve the problem.

Alexa stopped working after i restarted the Era 100. So I readded it using the new Android app. But now it’s giving  this error when adding:

I listen to my music through Sonos speakers and use Google assistant on  hubs to voice control these.Up until this week BBC radio was available on TuneIn the radio app which Sonos used to radio stations. This now doesn't work which is fine as it advised I linked BBC sounds . I can listen to the BBC through the Sonos app all good. Problem is if I ask assistant to play BBC  radio 1 on sonos the reply is " playing BBC radio 1 from tune in " this results in silence .  I've deleted TuneIn from Sonos and it's still doing it. Even if I use the command "play BBC radio 1 from BBC" it either doesn't understand or just gives the same playing from TuneIn reply.  It also does it for all stations like radio X or heart . What command can I use or change stop assistant using TuneIn ?Thanks sarah

Pre-update of the iOS app (80.00.04) my Arc correctly showed up under Sonos Voice Control speakers. After the 80.00.08 update, Arc is missing as a SVC enabled speaker (App says "one or more speakers are offline" when I try to add it). The Arc shows up online normally in my list of connected speakers to control, play music on, etc   My Beam, Era 100, Move, and Sonos One still correctly displayed on 80.00.04 and 80.00.08.This is on iPad and iPhone.

When will SONOS be available on Alexa do Brasil for integration?

Hi guysgot a problem with my Sonos One 2Gen. Had it set up and working fine till I disconnected it from the power. Moved it to another room now I have no voice assistant. which i used for switching lights on and off or playing music. I have removed the sonos app disabled Sonos skill in alexa deleted alexa app and re-enabled it the same with sonos app reactivated Alexa. but no joy.I have also tried installing the other voice asssitants Google and Sonos and I keep getting the same message “make sure your mobile device is connected to WiFi” which it is. I have tried splitting wifi still from one channel to two no joy..I then did a factory reset in desperation and started again re-named my speaker so that I could check if both the alexa app and spotify could find my speaker, which they did. I re-enable sonos skill in alexa checked the sonos app under settings/products defo connected to 2.4 ghz and microphone is switched off I tried connecting hardwired nothing. Hey Sonos!I love the new Sonos Voice Control feature! I'm so excited that you got Giancarlo Esposito; the man has the best voice on the planet! The voice control does everything I want it to, EXCEPT have a wake word chime, like Alexa does. I want one to make it clearer when the voice control system is listening. Currently I'm just listening for a subtle drop in the music volume, which isn't as satisfying as a nice affirming chime like Alexa's. Am I missing an option somewhere? If not, I would love it if a chime could be added.Thanks Spotify!

When I ask Alexa to play the radio I hear the response from Alexa but then no sound plays.This is the same for BBC, Virgin radio, anything.

I recently got the new Amazon echo hub. It is a small tablet designed to be mounted on the wall and used for smart home control. it has Alexa inside of it, so voice control of Sonos works. But it’s media control capabilities don’t work. This means I can’t control Sonos from the touchscreen. Of course this will work perfectly with an echo speaker. And doing a little bit of research. It looks like Sonos needs to update their skill to add support for some new API’s that will allow Sonos to show up in the active media app on this device as well as the Show devices.

Delaying a bit of time to broadcast the notification is not a problem.Are there currently any Apps on PC or Phone that can do this? If so, please suggest it to me.I found the Sonofy app but haven't seen many reviews about this app.

I am still searching for a possibility to change the volume of all Spoken messages like response on Alexa or a response on “Hey Sonos”. When I listen with silent volume to music, all spoken messages are as well not loud enough I would like to have a setting that a chest the volume of all spoken messages in relation to the music volume. In addition to that I want to set a minimum volume for all spoken messages. For instance if I have silent music, I want to have a minimum volume that needs to be kept for all announcements. Otherwise, I cannot hear or anything like that. How can I achieve this?

I’ve just bought my first Sonos product - Era 100 - and it sounds great.I’m using the Sonos voice control to play radio stations.  ie. “Hey Sonos - play BBC radio 6”.All works fine but the voice feedback - “Awesome, “Great choice” etc is so irritating.I checked the app but couldn’t find a way to disable this.  Am i missing something?

I want to stop using Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control approach should work perfectly for me… except I’m a Spanish speaker and I have to awkwardly speak English to my speakers. Is Spanish being considered as a new language for Sonos Voice Control?

Whenever I say “Hey Sonos, play Miss Honey by Eats Everything” it completely blanks me like nah gurrrl, not today. The only song it ever behaves like this when I ask for 😂

Bought Era 100 today, I use amazon Alexa with it for our music. The speaker kept beeping with every command. I turned off the request beeps on the Alexa app, which stopped it, but for some reason the Era starts beeping again on voice commands, despite it still being turned off on the Alexa app. We have a couple of Sonos Ones in other rooms, and have never had any issues with them. Am I missing something with the Era 100. 

My Google Nest works fine, responding to my voice.  My Sonos works fine and has an Alexa Dot attached to it.  I am trying to make my Google Nest play/respond through my Sonos system.  Due to the age of my devices, I am running the Sonos S1 Controller on my Android.  When I choose Services and Voice and under Voice select Add a Service, I am given a choice to select Google Assistant.  However, when clicking Add Google Assistant, nothing happens. Sonos has been added in the Google Assistant app directly. Suggestions?

Hi.More times than not I have to ask Alexa at least 3 times before it will respond. Dont get me wrong, everytime you speak the light goes green but disconnects straight away but then after 3 attempts light stays solid and carries out your request. Have spoken (web chat) to Sonos but no joy. Sonos had me disconnect  both power cables for 10 seconds ( have 2 Era 100s ) but no change. Then disable the skill from Alexa app and renable but its basically still the same. Does anyone have the same issue and if so fixed it. Its just a bit annoying continuously having to repeat things over and over. Would be grateful for anyone's help or advice. ThanksEddie   

Hi all,I’ve been banging my head against a brick wall with this forever … I have Sonos speakers distributed through the house, along with various Alexa devices (dots and flex mainly). My Sonos kit uses a variety of models from old to relatively new, and includes a couple with SVC. I have groups for each room, and then an over arching ‘House’ group with all my Sonos speakers in it. This used to work fine … I could call out specific rooms are ask any of my Alexa devices to play music everywhere (House).  For the last year or so (possibly since changing to a mesh WiFi system) I’ve had nothing but difficulties. If I ask Alexa to play music, the speaker she choses appears to be completely at random. She will never play from all the speakers in the group. SVC is much better,  but once music has been started from Alexa I have to manually go in and deselect then regroup all the speakers. Does anyone have an experience on a similar set up? I did chat to Sonos sometime ago, but they got stuck on

Hi all,I recently enabled Alexa on my Sonos Arc and we are having awful problems with the Arc “stealing” the Alexa response.We have a large open plan living space and Echo devices in the dining area, kitchen, snug and hallway, the Sonos is the AV system in the living area.  Before adding the Sonos system, the Echos were VERY good at working out which speaker was being addressed, you could be standing exactly between two Echos but if you turned your head towards one it would work out that was the one being addressed.  So if you were standing in the kitchen area and said “Alexa play the radio” it would only play in the Kitchen.  Amazing.Since adding the Sonos Arc to Alexa system the Arc now ‘steals’ every response no matter where you are standing in the room.  Weirdly even if you specifically say the speaker like “Alexa play music in the kitchen” the Arc still steals the response and will start playing.  It’s like the two systems don’t talk to each other, if I’m standing in the kitchen a
