Hi all, I just buy two sonos ceilings trying to improve my sound (i’ve a sonosBar)Regarding Sonos ceiling…- is it necesary the Amp to enjoy “completely”?what kind of cable i’ll need?
We have 2 Sonos Outdoor Speakers on our patio that were pre wired by the builder. The speaker wire cable runs inside to our Sonos Amp. I’ve just mounted a television outside, but have no way to run an HDMI cable all the way inside to the Amp. What are my options to get my outdoor speakers to play the television sound as well as music through the app? Will any of the available wireless hdmi extenders work?
I have a typical 5.1 setup in the Living Room. I want to temporarily move one of my Play:1s to the deck to play some music.I assume I do this by ungrouping my living room and using it independently, then regrouping once I’m done, but wanted to check in here to see 1) If there is an “easier” process, and 2) If there are any potential problems or extra steps that I’ll be stuck with by doing so.Ultimately I’ll probably buy another speaker to avoid this, but this is a more immediate need. Thanks!
I have a Rotel A12 and Bowers and Wilkins 685 S2 speakers. I like them but there was something about my stereo pair of Ones that I liked. Guitar strings were forward and clear and warm and vocals were the same.So I am trialing a stereo pair of Fives to possibly replace my current HiFi system and they sound too airy and lack the warmth and definitive clarity of the Ones.My summary is that they sound like Sonos speakers that are afraid to be Sonos speakers. They should be a huge step up from Ones. They have great bass but the bass isn’t integrated well enough. Their ability to have such deep bass should better fill out and warm up the rest of the instrumentation. Vocals are weak and light with too much air surrounding them instead of being warm and tight and direct which I find in the Ones.I continue to listen hoping they break in. I get people don’t believe in speakers breaking in but they do. They are moving parts that become more relaxed. It WILL affect sound. My second One sounded
About a year ago, I came to the conclusion that I do not want SMB1 in my house anymore for obvious reasons. So I moved away from the music library towards Plex which I experience reasonable but cumbersome at the same time. Still it works. But….Plex needs port forwarding 32400 and since a couple of days I`m using threat management on my router gateway and guess what: there are multiple ‘sources’ knocking on that particular port every day. This is for me a ‘no go’ with Plex remote access unless someone sees alternatives using Plex without keeping that port opened (question 1 ).So assuming I need to say goodbye to Plex (I only keep it alive for Sonos which is rather heavy): what are my alternatives in the current landscape of Sonos services to connect Sonos to the music on my Synology NAS (question 2).
Good morningI want to buy the Sonos arc (at the time only the arc without sorround nor sub).I Have only une Ethernet cable in the room; the question is: if I connect the ethernet to the Arc, can I see Netflix/Disney Plus in the TV (the Arc will share the Internet with the TV) or should I connect the Ethernet to the TV and work with the Arc in Wifi.In this second case, what problems can I have? Thanks in advance and excuse my poor English
I ran a Sonos system for several years without any big issues but today I updated my wifi thingies and a question arose. Me and the wife have Spotifu Duo and want to use our Sonos system with our own Spotify accounts so we don’t mess up our different lists and suggestions (nowhere near similar taste in music). When I look at Sonos support page they state that it’s easy, just add another Spotify service in the Sonos app. It’s just that when I do so Sonos state that I dont have to add a new service since I already have an active one. So maybe time to update the support page or what am I doing wrong? Thanks!
HiI have been looking throught Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon and Sky and I cannot find any content that says it supports Dolby Atmos. Can anybody point out items that are? I have “Googled” and found things that are recomended for Atmos Sound but when I look at the services they are labled 5:1 not Dolby Atmos. As a side issue I have an LG Smart TV with Atmos support which has apps for Apple TV, Amazon, Netflix etc. Will these inbuilt Apps support Atmos? Thanks for any help!
Hi there,I am considering to add the Sonos Amp to my setup, but I´ve got some questions:Lets say I connect my PC to it using the ARC port (via optical) and my laptop using LineIn. I would love to set up so that a signal from the ARC input auto-plays on the connected passive speakers, while a LineIn input auto-plays to another speaker. This never happens at the same time, but I don´t want to change the autoplay setting every time using it for the other input/player-combination. Is there a way to set this up?Adding another port to my setup for the LineIn part would solve my problem, but I am trying to prevent this.Thank you for your help and have a nice weekend :DKind regards,Max
Hello thereDiagnostics: 2113276301We have a stereo pair of Play One set up as surround sound in a room along with a sub and a Playbar. One of the Play Ones has stopped producing sound completely. I can still control the volume of the room with it but there is no sound from the unit. I’ve tried switching it on and off and performing a factory reset on it with no result. Can you please advise what else I can do to get it to work? Thank you.
I am doing an outdoor sound upgrade and running four Sonos amps to 8 Klipsch AW-650 speakers to create 4 zones. One question - The Sonos Amp is rated at 125w but my speakers (8ohm) are rated for 85w RMS and 340 Peak. Should I be using Volume Control to protect the speakers? Or is the power close enough to not be a big deal? Any idea what Volume Control % to use? Thanks!
A few minutes ago, I accidentally saved a new playlist with the name of an older Sonosplaylist, copying over the old list. Anyone know of a way to recover the earlier version of the old playlist?
Hello, I’m interested to buy Sonos arc black but there is not any available in Poland for some reason . I have found few white ones ( not fitting with my furniture). Do you have any ideas why is like that. I have contacted few shops in Poland and they can’t give me the answer when they will have black ones. Any idea ?
Hello all, new Sonos owner here. I ordered a Sonos Arc from Walmart because BestBuy was out and I couldn’t find one in stock anywhere else. Paid $999 for it but was happy to get it, as I have the Sub and Ones for surround coming this week. To my surprise, when I opened the box come to find out it’s an Arc SL! Walmart’s site didn’t say SL, and even included voice control as a feature. To be truthful, I wasn’t really planning to use the voice control feature, but to pay a $100 premium and not get what I ordered kind of chaps my hide. I contacted Walmart and they’re confused, offered me to return it but then I’m a month and a half out to get an Arc.So, questions to the wise. Is there any downside to the Arc SL vs. Arc aside from the voice control feature? Sonos app picked it up correctly as an Arc SL, but I’m concerned about future support. Would you return it and wait for the real Arc? It’s already installed and sounds great I just don't want to worry about it going EOL before
Hi folks,Just received my Arc, Sub and One SLs coming this weekend. Should I wait until I have everything, or can I go ahead and set up the Arc? Should I TruePlay the Arc or wait for the whole setup? Thanks!OB
Look, the good thinks about the app are: to control the EQ, set Trueplay (ONLY in iPhones, no iPads or Android devices…) and to set the voice or night mode. I find it useful for those things I just mentioned. Then if you want to search your music is a nightmare. The users, We love to use out streaming music services such as Spotify and go to Spotify Connect and select your device or speaker and play our music on that selected device. We like to go simple without complicate our life. Also, the interface in Spotify for searching music is more dynamic and accurate than the Sonos App.Now here is the problem, when I go to Tidal or Qobuz apps and try to look for the Sonos speakers in their Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect I don't see them. So I have to go to the boring and ugly Sonos app and search for the Song, which it is not as accurate as searching from the Streaming Music App. In addition If I found the song and then I want to start the Song’s Radio in the Sonos app, this is not possible.
I want to delete my Western Digital storage unit from Sonos but cannot find how to do this.
Hi,Before i take the plunge and buy an additional Sonos 5 to create a stereo pair, will this work if i only use one speaker with aux input? To elaberate a little, i’m currently coming out of a mixer with RCA to jack cable into aux input of a single Sonos 5, but want an addtional Sonos 5 to create a pair.I used to use a connect to two 1’s but the delay from mixer cue to actual speacker output was hiddious so switched to a 5 with aux input, which still slightly delays but tollerable. Just dont want to get into that situation again (if its even possible).Cheers guys
Is it possible to have alarms play on pre-grouped rooms and not just “include in grouped rooms”? Throughout the day, I like to have alarms to play specific play lists in different parts of my home. This would be a very desirable feature.
Hello! Just purchased my first few speakers this week. I have a quick question re a potential set up involving 2 x Five, 2 x One SL, 1 x Sub. If I purchase an Arc, could I have this in the middle under my TV, a Five on either side of it, the sub at the back of the room, and the two Ones on either side of the sub? I see lots of set ups with either Fives or Ones at the back of the room, with an Arc under the TV, but I haven't found any yet that have speakers on either side of the Arc as well. Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.
I have a Setup Living Room - One SL 2 pcs Bedroom - Arc + Sub Kitchen - Sonos Five Outdoor - In celling Speaker Sonance + Amp I want to ask that can we play multiple songs (Different tracks) from Sonos App is it possible , if yes then how can we do that , please explain a little bit.
Hello,Can someone advise if the Sonos Amp will power the Marantz PM6005 Speakers sufficiently? I just want to check the Amp will work as intended with these speakers before I purchase it.Thanks Jonathan
Does anyone have any good solutions for cleaning the grill of the arc from child induced peanut butter smeared into it?
I woke up this morning to an app update, which also updated the speakers. The update shows 13.3.2 however only the Arc, Beam and Amp updated their version, the rest of my speakers stayed on 13.3. Assuming this is an update to the HT setups, I am curious if any of you have noticed this update bringing more than bug fixes.
I am subscribing to UTube Premium for some of the video features so want to also drop Amazon Music and use UTube Music rather than pay monthly for two similar services. Is there any way to migrate my albums and playlists from Amazon to UTube? If not, there should be. I ran into this same issue a long time ago when I moved from Google Play Music to Amazon Music.Perhaps editing some internal file on the PC or the Android or is all of this kept in the speakers themselves or on the Sonos site in some database? It would be nice to have a conversion tool that would convert to the extent possible if not completely when possible. I use the S1 system.Thx
