I have just sold my Sonos arc and want to by another sonos Soundbar later. Can I still use my Sub with my Play 5 or my Symfonisk speakers from Ikea? if yes how do i set it up?
Longtime Sonos user that is looking to upgrade their setup. I currently use Sonos mostly for music, but have been eyeing an upgrade to my setup for a while now.My main space is pretty much open floor plan. I have a great room with 15 foot ceilings, and behind it we have our dining table. Our current audio comes from a Sonos Move and an old Sonos 1 in the kitchen.I am looking to upgrade the sound experience in the Great Room for music listening and the TV experience. I am initially thinking of replacing the Move with a Sonos Arc. I can place the Move somewhere else on the first floor. I could also look into doing the Arc + 2 Era 100's on stands behind the couch. Just not sure that my wife will go for it "aesthetically" since the dining table is already in pretty close proximity to the couch. My photos attached show the Great Room, and my floor plan. I know the TV is #toohigh, but we have baseboard underneath the entertainment stand. The red on the floor plan shows the placement of my cur
Does anyone have a Move 1 Box they do not require any longer?Moderator edit: Warning - do not share private details online
Does this sound as good as Bose?.
Hi everyone, I have never used a sonos product before but wondering if to invest in these with them being released so long ago? From my understanding they should all work with the s2 sonos app? 3 x Sonos Play 1s (nearly new - £225 for all)1 x Sonos play 5 (nearly new £240) I am very aware these are old products so want to make sure it is not money down the drain on a system which will be infuriating to use due to the age or anything to be aware of which will catch me out ? I currently have a Denon system but it is only a 2.0. My plan is to potentially use the play 5 in the living room just for music when I have the other speakers playing in other rooms. Or I could just get another play 1 when one pops up in the used market in good condition . Have seen some WiFi issues reported on thr play 5 also which makes me a bit cautious. Are they good value at this price point? Appreciate any help! Thanks
I am on the fence about getting a Sonos system. I’ve read reviews where users are having speakers disconnect from the system, they are not found, or random volume control issues. Is this still happening, as of July 2025?
Good morning everyone, I am writing from Italy, Rome.It is a pleasure to read your comments, I have noticed many experts in the community!I would like some advice: I have a complete Sonos system with all the latest updates, but since I am changing the furniture I have a doubt about the positioning of the Sonos Arc. What is the recommended/correct height from the floor? Currently it is 53.5 cm from the floor, but with the new furniture I would reach 57.5 cm from the floor, but I can change the dimensions of the new furniture (I still have time to do so because it is in progress!).Thank you very much for the precious advice...Greetings to all.
Hello. I am about to purchase my first Sonos system, after years of high end, old style equipment. I could really use some input from sonos users in chosing between a pair of 5s or era 300s.My music is classical 75% and oldies rock 25%.I have a moderate to large room.My wife does not like the volume too loud, so I would say our volume is moderate: neither background nor conversation killer. My main reason for diving into sonos: while my system is extremely accurate, whenever I encounter that wide open sonos sound stage I really like it. I am also tired of ongoing speaker placement efforts to image well and put me in rhat sweet spot. So I'd sacrifice a bit of accuracy for a big soundstage.Based on the above would you advise me to look at a pair of 5s or era 300s? Thanks in advance for your replies.
When trying to play music through my linked Napster account, there have been problems going back to the new app launch. Almost every time when I try playing music from Napster, it will at best play a couple songs without issue. Typically it will either suddenly lose all audio, while the song timer continues to run like the song is still playing, continue to do that on any subsequent song, not play additional songs (with the timer running), or the incredibly common error message saying the connection to Napster has been lost. I've reauthorized the account multiple times, and even though it says it was successfully authorized, the problem is never resolved. Since there are so many problems and shortcomings with the app, and this only started after the new app was released, I hoped it would be resolved as attempts to fix the app were made. After avoiding the use of Napster for several months when using my speaker, I tried again today and received the same lost connection to Napster.
For those who miss Blue Marlin, Ibiza global etc radios The solution I found (from someone else on the net) isBlue Marlin et al will play on the ‘Radio.net’ app. Download it to your advice. Hit play on radio.net. Airstream it to a Sonos device that accepts airplay I have devices that accept airplay (a new five, an arc, etc) and some ones that do not. For those that do not, airplay to a device that does then on sonos, add the room with the Sonos that does not have airplay, to the one that is playing it , in the sonos app. You can turn down the room you want but it is still grouped with the room you do… etc
Hello,I'm recently bought a pair of Era 100 and I added these as a surround speakers for my Ray with a Sub mini but I don't have the stands for the speakers but in a weeks I'm going moving to another house and there I can pit the speakers on the wall but while I want to use the surround speakers in front at the same height of the soundbar and using the reflections of the lateral walls can listen like there are closely back or minimum more spaciality, my room is almost a square it's 3.75m high and 3.95m wide (12.3ft x 13ft) and my soundbar is like in 20cm in front the wall so is remaining only 3.55m and my spot of listening is 1.5m of the soundbar, can any give me some solutions or tips for this, and configurations in the app? PD: Sorry if my English isn't the best I'm Mexican and I don't speak English natively :)
Should we expect to get an update for Sonos Era 300’s where we can control volume of each rear surround speaker (left and right) individually? I have Sonos Arc connected to my Sonos Era 300’s. I really want this feature in Sonos app where i can control volume of each rear individually.
I have gone a little mad with Sonos.I only bought my Arc less than two years ago but had to have the Ultra and got it on 12 interest-free.It arrived today, at 08.20 and I started setting it up at 8.45 and was finished by 9.15.Installed the new Arc Ultra.Moved the 2 x ERA300s to it as rear speakersAdded the Sub MiniAs the new Dolby Atmos Brothers in Arms was already in the DVD player, I hit the button to play "Money for Nothing" on it. Needed to adjust the rears a little, but now fantastic.I then moved the Arc into the dining room, which is where I work from home. I added the two Play 3s as rear speakers as this will be music only.Back on the Ultra I then played Interstellar. Terrific in Atmos.Whilst that was playing, I added the Arc to the output and now have glorious Dolby Atmos playing across both roomsI had thought about selling the Arc, but the prices have dropped, and I would take quite a hit on what I paid.I also have a Move 2, which I use in the bathroom and that will now find a
My Sonos entertainment system (Ultra Arc, Gen 4, ERA300) is making intermittent beeps. What could be causing that?
Let’s start a movement! Let’s put our Sonos products in a dumpster and light it on fire and share the videos. Maybe Sonos will get the idea and start making stuff that works.
Simple question. Can someone please confirm which type of hdmi cable is supplied with the Sonos Arc Ultra in the UK. Thanks.
My contractor thew out the parts that fit nicely into the back of the Sonos original soundbar and I can’t find the replacements anywhere! Thanks!
I suppose my refurbished arc bought on sonos shop might be defective as I completely can’t hear the atmos power. I performed the Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 check via Dolby app on xbox and there is no difference between channels e.g. top rear surround and top front surround . Every channel produces sound from front. nothing on top/behind… and of course I performed Trueplay optimization
How can I make one speaker become the driving hub for my other 7 speakers ??
We have 10 Sonos speakers and have them grouped for different rooms. However these hardly ever work properly even though we follow instructions and go into groups, create and apply. We ask Alexa to play a certain group and it misses some speakers or adds them on. We are so frustrated with the set up we are considering taking g the whole system out and goingvback to our original system which was Bose
I am on the fence about getting the original Arc. I know that the Arc ultra is newer and has more bass than the og, but I’ve also read reviews comparing the original Arc to the Roku smart sound bar (which I currently own, and frankly enjoy the sound of, except for some quirks with my Samsung TV), and those reviews state that the Arc (og) has more bass than the Roku bar. The Roku with the surrounds gives a nice home theater experience in my NYC home (which in New York City is still basically an apartment for most of us) and the Roku bar has enough bass for my needs. I’m not looking for whole house audio, just a good and simplified home theater w/o the whole receiver & wires etc, (which I’ve had before)). Soundbars are really some of the hardest things to really audition in-store. Sonos & Bose are really the only two displays that let you hear them. Outside of the TV displays, which to me are useless. The rack of 10+ bars on display (that usually don’t work) is no help.
Hello, for my new house I was thinking about a PC monitor connected to an Apple TV and using a pair of Era 300 as speakers. I will mainly listen to music through Apple Music, and watch some videos.I read that the Era 300 will only play stereo and not ATMOS while watching videos, but I can accept that. Most of the time I would listen to music, so I prefer a pair of speakers rather than a soundbar. The most annoying thing I read is that Apple TV would reset the audio output every time it goes to sleep, so I’d have to change it to Sonos all the times. Is that correct? If so, any workaround?Any other drawbacks? Would you suggest a setup like that? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Really interested in enhancing my TV/movie experience. Sounds like the Sonos Arc Ultra is the best, however I don't want anything rattling the walls as I live in an apartment with a shared wall. Is the Arc Ultra going to be fine in a relatively small space (roughly 400 sq ft), or should I consider the Beam/Ray models? Thanks.
My Sonos Roam disconnects and reconnects from my wifi network literally every minute. My network is a Unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra and U6 Pro AP. When connected, the Unifi console shows the Experience for the Roam as “”Excellent”. Other devices in the same room do not have this problem.Any idea how I can diagnose/fix this?
When I discover new music/content on my phone, 1. How to add it to my library, anshow to listen to things over Sonos speakers - that is, stream new music through Sonos speakers/system.? ( content not not listed in the Sonos offerings)?…
