I just got the Nintendo Switch today, but there's no optical out on the system. If I just use the optical out on my tv instead of through the system like I do for the xbone, will that output 5.1 surround sound? I know I had to change some settings around in the xbox to get surround sound working, I'm wondering if anyone knows the best way to accomplish this with the Nintendo Switch.

Hi guys I've bought a Playbar to go with our TV. The TV is currently on its stand which takes up most of the space on the TV cabinet, so no room for the Playbar. My two options are leaving the TV on the stand and wall mounting the Playbar above the TV - would having it so high cause any negative affect on the sound displacement? Or the second option is wall mounting the TV and having the Playbar either sat or wall mounted below the TV. My preferred option is number 1, as I'd rather have the TV as low as possible - the middle of it is currently eye height when on the sofa so that's ideal, and wall mounting it means raising it so we'll be looking upward a little. I've attached a pic of the set up. The TV is a 65" so if wall mounted it will be fairly high (around 5 foot if just above the telly). Also, if above the telly, is there a minimum it should be above to not have the back of the telly affecting the sound? Thanks! http://i40.tinypic.com/s43spe.jpg

Having been let down by a broadband provider, I am exploring whether we can use Sonos to play locally stored music/podcasts over the wifi (using a mesh)...problem seems that the App looks for internet connection...

In the knowledge that I was moving with my family to a new larger property, I have been preparing/researching/saving for several items of audio and AV equipment. One absolute must was a multi-room wireless system. We still have traditional stereo in our office/guest room, and the main system in our 'Snug' has a great stereo and 5.1 system. But, the heart of the house, the kitchen diner, needs music to be readily available, and this means intuitive above sound quality so that my wife actually plays music. Cutting to the chase, I borrowed, one at a time, to demo in situ, a Bluesound Pulse Mini, a Play:3, a Bluesound Pulse and finally (playing as I type) a Play:5. I'd done a lot of reading, and spoken to staff at the shops, and was in no doubt that I would prefer the 'audiophile' sound of the Bluesound, and that the ability to play my high-res files (I have a Pono and a Pioneer N-50 network player) would be the clincher. I recently bought two HomePods with the expectation that I'd be able to stream audio from my Mac (not only iTunes, but from other apps like Chrome while watching Netflix) to a stereo pair of HomePods. I've sinced learned that this isn't supported. If I replaced these HomePods with Play 5s or Sonos Ones, could I do this?

Where can I purchase a replacement power cord for a Sonos Boot? My puppy chewed it and I've not been able to use my Sonos!

Hi all, I recently moved and decided to replace my Play:5 gen 1 with a surround system so I got the Playbar, a pair of Play:1's and a Sub. A few weeks ago I unpacked my Play:5 and found it was dead, it has been replaced under warranty so I now have a gen 2 but I wondered if there is any benefit of using this in my home? The only reason I can think of is Airplay 2 which I'd like as I have Apple mobile devices, but reading up it sounds like the only way to have Airplay 2 work with my surround setup is if I group them with my Play:5. Does this mean that if I wish to stream Airplay 2 to my surround the Play:5 must also be playing the same audio? My space isn't large enough to warrant this and it seems a waste to have such a good speaker used purely as a way to stream from my phone to the surround. I know the Beam would accomplish what I want but I much prefer the size/design of the Playbar, the Beam would look too small under my TV and going by pricing I'd hope the audio is better o

My Sonos device is connected to my WiFi which make it easy for me to connect to it. This also makes it easy for my roommate to connect to my device and take over or blast music from my room when I am trying to focus on something. Is it possible to make my device only recognize my phone?

Is there a functional difference between mounting the playbar to the wall vs. mounting it to the bottom of the TV? I am about to wall mount my TV for the first time and I will be on a full articulating mount. My intention to mount the playbar to the TV, so when I move the TV, the play bar comes with it. But will this have a negative effect on the sound? Should I try to mount it on the wall instead? Thanks

When, oh when will you have outdoor speakers? Love my Sonos system, it it is incomplete without outdoor speakers.

What is the difference in how my SONOS devices connect (or how they can connect when I add devices)? I have a Playbar in my main room, a Play:One in my office, Beam in the Master, and a Connect:Amp in the basement for my kitchen ceiling speakers... All are connected via Ethernet to my network because I was always concerned about wifi traffic. I happened to see the Boost device, which seems to make its own wireless network for only Sonos devices, which sounded good... Then, I read somewhere that the devices themselves can go into BOOST mode, which means they would create their own separate wifi network (?) if at least one was wired... So you don't need to buy the extra device. Then I read somewhere that ethernet-connected and BOOST-connected devices can't group/talk to each other. The reason I ask for clarification is that there does not seem to be anything posted that really explains all of these methods of connectivity in detail all together. I am trying to piece it toge

When will the Sonos Beam be available in Hong Kong? Which retailers will carry them?

I currently have a play 1 in the far corner of my bathroom and it fills the room great. Its moisture resistance also means I've had zero humidity issues. The only drawback is you obviously can't start hitting the buttons or your phone when showering or anything. This meant i was excited to hear the Sonos one had alexa inbuilt, as voice control music is perfect for the bathroom. Unfortunately i can't find anything that says the Sonos one does/doesn't provide the same moisture resistance the play 1 does. Does anybody know? The microphone holes do also cause some concern as I'd understand if they scuppered my plans, but here's hoping.

Hello We have two play 5 first generation wish we thinks is great but now we are thinking about get speakers for or terrass. The thing I was wondering about is how humidity resistant the play 1 is for outdoor, can I leave it out under the summer as long as it's under roof or do I need take them in every night? On the website it stands that it can be use in bathroom so it shouldn't be any problem but I just want to be sure. For the new generation play 5 it also says that it's humidity resistant but not whether resistance, is it enough to have it under roof under the summer? I live in Sweden so it don't use to get hotter then 30 degrees Celsius but sometimes we have morning dew.

See this has been asked before, it would be really useful for a watch app with just the basics of functionality, grouping, volume control and maybe skip to next song. Would find this very useful, don't need all the bells and whistles, just the key ones to manage music around the house.

Sonos to the best of my knowledge, advertises that the play 1 & play 5 (2nd gen) are humidity resistant. They also warn that the products mentioned, are not water proof. My question is how humidity resistant are they. My son has a play1 in his bathroom and like some, young men, he can easily shower for close to an hour, if not more. So how much humidity can it actually resist. I wish I could get a look inside a Sonos speaker to see how it is constructed to resist humidity.

Suitability for areas of high humidity

Under my Sonos account I've speakers at my home and weekend house. Now the weekend house has been sold and the speakers with it. How can I de-register these speakers from my account so the new owner can register these under his own account? I've tried to search the support pages/community and have not been able to find the answer.

hi all i have already got a play 1 sitting on a flexson stand and my partner is buying me a sonos one for christmas will the stand fit the sonos one as when we went into john lewis to inquire there was a sonos rep in there and he advised yes it would fit just the same thanks stuart

Called customer service 10 mins ago got connected to a guy in Edinburgh. Who asked for my name and case number which I gave him then after a few mins of him tapping the computer keys I said “hello” he said “yes still here wait abot it is busy” I stated I would like to speak to Daniel D. who is a Sonos escalation engineer to which he said “wait a bit” at which point I said please transfer me to your team leader/manger to which he said “no” I then asked for his team leader/mangers name to which he said “no” then proceeded to say I was shouting and he hung up. After writing this I am going to get all Sonos boxes out of the attic pack the stuff up and send it back to Sonos I have not spent over 4K to have issues with lag and be spoken to like that by customer service. I am truly appalled by this experience

When I play songs from my iPhone playlist if often skips to the next song halfway through for no reason. It also cuts out frequently. Here is my diagnostic 7694632. Please help

I know this has been written about many times but I can’t seem to find a solution and it’s starting to really bug me. Every time I listen to a podcast on my iPhone through Sonos, it stops or skips every five minutes. Can Simone at Sonos please help me it with this problem? Thanks

I had a play 1 in my fairly large kitchen, and I thought I’d replace it with a play 5. The 5 arrived yesterday, and if I’m really honest, I’m not hearing much of a difference between the two speakers. I’ve done a side by side comparison with classical, rock, pop & jazz and there’s no noticeable improvement when listening on the 5 vs a 1. Even when I listen to bass-heavy music the play 1 sounds just as good as the 5. It’s not that the 5 sounds bad, it’s just the play 1 sounds just as good to me. I have a 5.0 setup in the living room (Playbar and 2x play 1s) and that does sound better, probably due to the stereo separation of the play 1s at the rear. I think I might return the play 5 (£500) and get another play 1 (£150) to create a stereo pair in the kitchen. I was surprised to discover this. I’m no audio expert but I do listen to a lot of music. Has anyone else come to the same conclusion?

How do I use the Sonos One speakers to play audio from my PC or Macbook when I watch something on Youtube or play a game?
