Hi all, I'm currently moving from high rise condo to a house. Currently, my (small) living room set up is 2 play 1s, sub, and a turntable, which has been great for when I just want to have a drink and spin some jazz alone or have a small group of friends over where listening to music is the focal point (I put critical in quotes in the title because I understand the difference between that and audiophile "critical" listening). I plan on expanding to a full sonos 5.1. I'm not huge on movies, but my wife is and I imagine kids will enjoy it in the future. For people who are equal home theater/music enjoy-ers, what's the solution? Is having music playing from rear speakers (especially for music where stereo separation is a part of the experience) as enjoyable for you? Do you just physically move play 1s in front of you in the instances where you are focusing on music? Is it easy on the app itself to go from 5.1 to 2.1 and back? I've heard people say listening to music on full mod
Hundreds. Maybe thousands of ants in my Sonos One!! I don't (didn't) have an ant problem, saw a few and freaked out to clean it then the worst thing I could have imagined came out. What do I do other than throwing it in the ocean?
I keep getting error code 4 on one of my Play Ones. I have tried plugging it straight into the Ethernet but it won’t update. 385674533 What next please?
I just looked on the Sonos website and I noticed they have discontinued the play 3 I don’t have or want any just thought it was interesting they have discontinued it
I am a Sono newbie with a Beam and two Ones set up to give surround sound. I have replaced one Beam following a call with Sonos and submitting diagnostics and undertaking a button test. I have set up again with the new Beam and am having the same problem- things work fine for a day or two and then the app gives a message saying it looks like one of your speakers is unplugged- which it is not - lights are on and it is playing TV sound OK - but I can't do do anything on the app. The only way to get the system responding again is to power the Beam off and on again. Frustrating and not something I want to do everyday or so. Is this a common prpbel with the Beam - has any ne else experienced the same and how have they resolved the problem? I have a Sky Q router and have removed Netgear wifi extenders in case this was causing the problem. Sonos is set up in standard mode.
Hi all, So the new Playbar arrived and yes it does live up to the reputation, however I'm having a real problem disabling the TV's internal speakers it's a Panasonic TX-L55WT50 and I simply can't find any set up option to turn them off. I've even tried plugging a Jack into the headphone socket but nope that didn't work either. I can't simply turn the volume down or mute the telly as obviously the playbar depends on the TV remote control, so as soon as you touch the volume the tv speakers come back. The current work around is to have the tv volume turned down and to control the Playbar volume via iPad but this is far from perfect and flys in the face of the "simple" idea and seamless pairing. It's currently taking the edge off of what should have been a perfect solution, any ideas?
My Sonos only works when it is connected to the router with the ethernet cable. When I disconnect it and move to a different room and I try a wireless connection, I get a message that the Sonos system cannot be found. Any suggestions?
Does my ZoneBridge BR100 serve any purpose anymore? I've had it sitting on my network for years. But now it seems like my players and connects all work fine without it.
Is there any known work around to enable listening to a Sonos speaker via Bluetooth headphones? Thanks
Need to add a new speaker but am redirected to app store to update app. No new updates avaible. What to do?
I’m a little confused, I like to control my Sonos One by voice. I’ve been doing that easily by talking to the One directly using Alexa. However, when I’m out of range/have to shout to Alexa, it would be nice to instead just talk to Alexa using my iPhone (maybe this is where Siri steps in?). Is that feature possible now that Airplay 2 is around? Thanks
Hi, New Sonos user. Just got the Play1. One of the great features of using Airplay on my yamaha receiver is that I can see the album art and track playing on the tv screen (that is hooked up to the receiver). Would love it if Sonos could create something like that.
Struggling to find how to rename a speaker eg from kitchen to lounge
I have currently one Sonos play 3 and am looking at buying a Sonos beam sound at for a new Sony tv I was just wondering if I am able to connect the beam to the play 3 and use both speakers for TV sound? Thanks in advance
Hi All, I have added a Play:1 to my set up and mounted it in the bathroom, because the UK dont alllow sockets in the bathroom I have mounted in the top corner of the room(on the wall) and dropped the power lead down from the loft. The speaker is mounted above head height, the problem here is that the bottom of the paly:1 looks unsightly with the sticker/plug/feet so I have mounted it upside down with the status light and buttons facing down. Also the buttons are reachable/usable and as sonos can be read both ways the speaker looks the correct way up!! Looks great!:) My only concern is with the humidity proof claims, with the plug being on the top is there more potential for condensated water to seep in to the AC connection? Had several showers and seems fine but thought I would gather a few peoples opinions??
After changing my router the Play 1 and Playbar all work fine but the Sonos 5 gen 2 only works if connected direct to the router or extender
How can I create different groups with the surround speakers in my living room? It seems that because they are already in the "living room" group, I cannot create a new group with the play 1 speakers. I would love to be able to use them independently as well, not just a supplement to my playbar and sub.
Stopped connecting to wifi absolute garbage technology
Maybe I'm nuts and there wouldn't be demand for this, but I would love to be able to pop a Play:1 on a battery stand and take it out back when we have a BBQ. It would probably be about 2 inches tall, and could be wider than the Play:1 to give it good balance. The Play:1 really is designed for this, with the power input on the bottom, it would be easy. I'm also surprised there isn't a third party hack to do this - unless I'm wrong? If Alibaba doesn't have it, it probably doesn't exist. Thoughts? Am I out in left field on this? I know it would have to be connected to wifi, but in this day and age, that's not a challenge for many people, to just get a bit of wifi coverage in their backyard.
I'm selling my play:1 - do I have to deregister it for the buying to use it?
Hi, I have got: 1x Sonos play1 in bedroom 1x sonos play1 in kitchen 1x beam + 2 Sonos play1 in living room Sometimes I experience Spotify or tunein blackouts while Sonos support can't understand the problem. Se times they say wifi interference sometimes problem is Spotify... Today they told me that using Sonos with Google wifi needs 1 speaker connected wired to router. Of course because I have 1 Google wifi this is obviously wrong. Now... I see Google wifi logs and see only 1 speaker receiving the audii stream. So I understand that to sync speakers Sonos use its own protocol independently of my wifi good or bad. So my questions are: - if I have good wifi coverage it is still possible that it doesn't work because Sonos internally uses its own protocol on the same network band? If this is true I can work to make the best wifi in life but if Sonos internal communication is bad, because of my environment I don't solve anything. - wifi mesh configurations like Goo
Does anyone know if a new and updated playbar is under way soon with updated software and Airlink similar to the Beam?
How do I check if I am in Standard or Bridge (Boost )Mode? and Should I see all of my speakers as Media players on my laptop?
I'd like to take two of my old Play:5s to a Christmas party at a local church. How do I set them up at the different location and play music from Amazon (usually we start it with Alexa, but maybe I'd try using the app since I don't think I can use my Alexa with Sonos at the party), but then after the party bring them back home and have them work like normal?
Hello. I'm considering buying another Play:5, and I'd like to know if there's an easy toggle between Mono and stereo. I guess an individual on/off toogle would also work (provided the speaker auto reverts to mono ofc). Both options would be best. Since I only have one speaker, I haven't ever looked at the room configs or anything, so if this is self explanatory from the set-up, I apologize. Thank you,
