Sonos only works when attached via ethernet cable to router

My Sonos only works when it is connected to the router with the ethernet cable. When I disconnect it and move to a different room and I try a wireless connection, I get a message that the Sonos system cannot be found. Any suggestions?

Are we talking here of only one Sonos ONE? You need an Android device with v5.0 or a iOS device running v10 to connect the Sonos to your WiFi, and also an ethernet cable.

Presumably it's the only unit, i.e. you don't have a second unit that's wired all the time. Have you actually entered your WiFi details at Settings/Advanced Settings/Wireless Setup? Does your router meet the criteria for "wireless" (WiFi) mode operation?

Yea I was curious as ratty is …. when you have it wired to router and working are you going to settings/advanced/wireless setup and running the wizard before unplugging?
