I’d already set my Sonos One up on my home WiFi, no problems. My son’s party was to be in a large hall so I thought great, I’ll take my speaker, connect to the WiFi and have his music playing. iPhone connected to WiFi with no issues, but could not then get the speaker to connect... went through the set up process and the app said the speaker had set up a temporary SONOS WiFi and that I should connect to that... but it did not appear as an option... any ideas what’s wrong? Why couldn’t I see a SONOS network? Why could the speaker not connect to my phone?
Very dissapointed that my new Sonos One won’t stereo pair with my play 1 - why would I buy 2 Alexa enabled speakers? It’s just software update then - I now have speakers that are not stereo paired and yes it makes a difference. Anything to work around or update planned?
I've just bought an IKEA Symfonisk speaker, set up was easy and sounds good. I use iTunes to organise my music and, as the Symfonisk has Airplay 2, I can now play the music from iTunes on my PC to the Symfonisk speaker, and with that speaker in a group, to the whole house! Well in theory, yes. ITunes sees the speaker, I can play through it, and sounds comes out all over the house. But it's very distorted, intermittent. I've always struggled to maintain a good connection with Sonos speakers in the place. My Connect is wored to the router, so SonosNet works. Sonos is on wify channel 6, the router is on 11. Any thing I can do to improve performance?
My sound levels are all over the place requiring adjustments all thru the day as the systems plays in my waiting room. Songs are from itunes (which I have sound leveling on) and spotify. Any ideas to keep the sound levels consistent ...or even close
I have multiple rooms with SONOS. When I open the app to choice music there is a 50/50 chance it will be set to the right speaker. I understand the new SONOS speakers have BLE. Currently only used for easy set up? BLE could be used by the app to identify which speaker you are closest to, and pre-select that as the speaker to interactive with. For speaker without BLE SONOS could sell little £5 BLE beacons to mount on the speakers to enable the same functionality.
Should be very popular. https://zatznotfunny.com/2019-08/sonos-bluetooth/
For those with lots of patience. USB-C can supply a good bit more power than the older standards. https://medium.com/@wr/powering-a-sonos-play-1-with-a-usb-c-battery-pack-instructions-photos-de784fed2f38
The Sonos Play 5 Gen 2 has been around since 2015. Does Sonos plan to release a version with built-in Alexa just like the Sonos One? It would be the perfect speaker if has smart speaker capabilities.
I am running IOS12.x and the latest Sonos controller update. I have 2 Pairs of Play:1 paired in seperate rooms as a group and one pair in a third room with a sub. AirPlay doesn't see any of it. From what I am reading, I would need ALL these in a single group (except the Sub) to get Airplay to see any of them, or perhaps break them up into single units, losing the L R stereo sound. Is this correct?
just bought a couple of sonos play 5s and one of them started emitting a burned electrical smell."I cant find any answers in here, other Than contact customer service. What is the issue? The one that smells is more than 3 years old, so its not because its new it smells/stinks
Hey folks ... on my back deck I have a pair of Klipsch 650 outdoor speakers connected to Amp inside. I really want a sub outside so I grabbed one of my Sonos Subs and damn it sounds good .. but I need an enclosure for it to keep sunlight and rain away. Any ideas?
Hi, my yamaha speakers are connected to a chromecast audio dongle to cast music across the room. I would like to play the music simultaneously on my sonos beam. I have tried to set up a group speakers in google home but cant include sonos speakers into it, same within sonos app (chromecast speakers not available). Has anyone tried this before? Is it possible to do this setup? Thx
After getting this all working, later it develops severe problems. For example the Sonos starts to crash the access point. My setup when it was working: Main House Router: Linksys EA6500 v1 (la Dettached Shop Metal Building: Outside Shop Wireless Bridge: TP-Link CPE510 V2 in bridge mode (this connects to the router in the house wirelessly and brings an Ethernet connection inside the shop to the LAN ports of the Shop Access Point; Inside Shop Wireless Access Point: Linksys E4200 Because the shop is a metal building, we need the outdoor wireless bridge to bring the network into the shop. The router in the shop is in access point mode. It isn't doing any routing. No firewall... Nothing but providing an access point for the shop devices (mostly Sonos, one Amazon Echo, and my phones or laptop.). All devices in the shop get an IP on the same network as the devices in the house. A Play:1 is wired to the LAN ports of the shop access point. A Play:1 is on the other side of the shop wi
Immediately after purchase, my Beam and play one surround speakers worked fine. At some point the play one surround speakers were disconnected from the room. Now I cannot get them to reconnect and surround speakers.
I currently have Sono's Play One (1 Gen) will it be compatible with the newer models even if it has no voice commend
Firstly, love the Sonos system I have. So much I have purchased a system for a mate for his wedding present. Anyway,so I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Sonos SUB. While it is a great product, it is way overpowered for an apartment, so much I'm waiting for the neighbors to complain even at 1/3 power. Can I suggest to the Sonos team to create a "Mini SUB" for those that don't want to spend the big bikkies and don't need oodles of power, but still want a reasonable sized, power and priced SUB. Personally, I think the sales would massive, and wouldn't overly hurt sales of the current SUB. Also it would make adding a sub to other rooms more cost affective (I can't see the average household buying more than one full sized SUB at the moment. Just a thought!
I had two Play1 as stereo in my living room. Now I have plugged one of them out and moved to the kitchen. I would now like to create a new room “Kitchen” for this speaker and add that speaker, thus removing it from the living room. Could somebody tell me which settings to use in the Sonos application?
I just bought a Beam and a Sonos 1 (Gen 2). Initially I set them up in separate rooms. I have moved the Play 1 to the same room as the Beam as the Left back speaker. I changed the name of it and added it to the group, but it isn't responding to volume controls. How do I make the Sonos 1 (Gen 2) work as a part of a surround sound system? I just ordered another Sonos 1 (Gen 2) to add as the Right back of the same room. I may need setup assistance with that as well. Does anyone have any specific instructions on how to achieve this?
I have 3 sonos speakers that are connected by wifi to my home network. They have always been hidden as available networks but now has started appearing and it’s an unsecured network. Anyone in close proximity to the house can connect to it. Does anyone know how to hide the network so my neighbours can’t connect to it? thanks
I've seen alot of people asking for the measurements of the new SYMFONISK products. Here are what I think will be pretty close to the size... SYMFONISK Bookshelf: (W)36cm x (H)12cm SYMFONISK Lamp: (W)21cm x (H)38cm Resources used: Img1: Bookshelf Img2: Lamp EU socket size: Buster+Punch (.pdf)
I've got a greenhouse where I can relax in the evening. No power is avaiable. I want sonos 1 battery run but for some strange reason it's not developed yet. A compromise could be playing Sonos on my phone (network works fine) - but though I can play the songs from my cell on Sonos it seems like I can't find out how to make it work "the other way around" Can anyone tell me how to play sonos over my phone ?
Hi guys, Can you help me out on this. Recently purchased a my Sonos Beam. Interestingly, at the bottom of it there is a sticker saying "El Rey" as a model, rather than Beam. I read about "El Rey" being the internal Sonos name of the product, but haven't found any other info on that. Does this mean that it is an earlier produced unit ? Are there any differences ? The sonos app recognises it as Beam though... Cheers and thanks for your thoughts on this.
I had a massive amount of trouble reconnecting a connect:amp and playbar recently. We were running our system with a play 1 wired to our ASUS router. After numerous emails and calls to the customer support line, it was suggested that in the ASUS router control panel: Wireless - Professional tab - the airframe fairness option should be disabled. After doing this I was able to connect my speakers easily.
Can the gen 2 sonos one be paired with a gen 1 sonos one?
Hi, My Play 3 died the other day and I am just outside my warrenty period 😞 I contacted sonos customer services who did not help me in the slightest. I have now looked at the power supply board and seen that the board around one of the input capacitor has burnt out and or the cap itself. As customer services won't even sell me a new power board, does anyone have a circuit diagram for this board so i can attempt to repair it myself. ( I am competent with electronics). P/N: RN-002657 (board number) Date: 08-04-11 Also has anyone else experienced this fault. I am assuming a power surge has done this. Many thanks Jamietaylor13
