Very dissapointed that my new Sonos One won’t stereo pair with my play 1 - why would I buy 2 Alexa enabled speakers? It’s just software update then - I now have speakers that are not stereo paired and yes it makes a difference. Anything to work around or update planned?

As it hasn’t been possible to bond the One and the Play:1 from the beginning I suspect it would take more than a software update to make this possible. I understand your disappointment but do not expect a change.

You could exchange the One for a Play:1 and buy an Echo Dot to add voice control (and get the full range of Alexa features unlike on the One). That would have been my preferred option anyway.

((But note I don't use Airplay)

Sonos do say the sound from each is a little different, which you wouldn’t really want from a stereo pair.

That said, I believe that there is a third party app that lets you do this.
