Speakers

Today I noticed that one of our Sonos Ones' bass response has changed. It distorts and pops, and when that happens, it seems to back off the bass for a second or two. I did a quick search and see that this isn't a new issue for the One and Play:1. It appears to be the speaker's built-in protection kicking in during certain bass tones. This actually makes some sense. However, I've had this particular One for over a year, maybe close to two years, and just noticed this happening for the first time today. It's very noticeable so if it was happening before, I'm sure I would have heard it. I would have checked my other Ones, but I had to put my kids to bed and didn't want to crank those speakers up to 40-50% volume to see what happens. Was there something in the last update that would have changed the protection level or the frequency response of the speaker? Has anyone else had this issue appear recently?

I have spent about $1000.00 on 3 different Sonos speakers.  The idea was to be able to move throughout the living area of our home and be able to enjoy music.  Wonderful.  Sound quality was very good.  Then suddenly I can no longer link my iTunes playlist to these speakers.  I’ve read several threads saying this is unavoidable.  Makes ABSOLUTELY no sense.  Any wireless speaker I own, from the one that came with my Dewalt tool kit, to the JBL on our boat, to the old beater that plays in my side by side UTV all access my iTunes playlist perfectly.  My iTunes syncs perfectly with my Ford pick up and seamlessly with my wifes Toyota 4 Runner.  Can it really be true that with all this compatibility, on Sonos can’t read my iTunes playlist unless I join some pay to play service.  Everyone I know uses their iTunes playlist for enjoying music compiled over the last decade.  Can it really be true that Sonos is useless to them all?!?!?

Hi Sonos, I just wanted to voice my disappointment at the discontinuation of the Play 3. I experimented with a couple play 1's and loved the sound and system so I decided I would to go with sonos when the time was right. I was building a house. Just finished about a year ago. Spent all my money. It's taken me a while to save up for the luxury items like speakers. I finally saved up some dosh to buy the playbar and 4 - 6 of the play 3 speakers to go around my house only I've discovered that the play 3 is extinct and I can't find anywhere in my country that still has them. Here's some feedback for the Product Managers. Sonos play 1 is too small for my loungeroom and dining room and play 5 is too big and expensive Sonos play 3 is the perfect size and price for me. Why not have a cheaper version of play 5 that doesn't include all the bloated voice activation tech? I already have voice activated phone and tv - why do I need voice activated speakers? Apologies if this has been asked previoiusly - I did search but couldn’t find a thread. Is there any way to listen to a Sonos playlist on a pair of bluetooth headphones? I bought my son the pair of Bose QC35 wireless headphones for Christmas that’s he’s been begging for but I belated realise his playlists are all on the Sonos. We don’t have a Connect - but even if I did that would necessitate rigging it up to a PC and pairing the headphones with that. I was rather hoping I could stream the audio via his iPad but I believe that’s not possible. Is there a smart way to do this I’m missing? 

I have a sonos beam, two sonos 1’s and a subwoofer.  It is currently next to the tv on the floor which is laminated. what is the best place to put it or is next to the tv ok?

I am wondering if the ”One SL” model can be configured like this:   Can two of the One SL speakers in the same room be paired as stereo speakers, or do they have to be grouped as two mono speakers? If yes to question 1, would I be able to use AirPlay 2 to play my music, in stereo, to the SL pair? Is the SL speaker as beefy as the Play One with regard to CPU and memory? Do the SL speakers support SonosNet? Does the Sonos Bridge support the use of Airplay 2? Does the Sonos Boost support the use of Airplay 2? Thanks!    

Hi Support,This seems like a no brainer, but how about putting yor speaker system in smoke alarms that are wired into ceilings?It would be a great way of putting music in many rooms without taking up any additional space.  Talk about whole house audio…ThanksKnipfty

I have 5 Sonos players on my Virgin Media home network. Most of the time everything works well but occasionally I find one or more of the players have dropped out and disappeared from the Sonos apps.When I look at my router (Hub 2ac) device connection list it shows all the players but the ones that have dropped out are listed as connected by Ethernet whereas they are all actually on wi-fi.The correct MAC address and IP addresses are listed with the only clue to a problem being they are listed as Ethernet connected.Power down and up again on each player simply shifts them from Ethernet to wi-fi and then all is well again until the next time.I don’t think it has anything to do with IP lease time as that is set at one day but the problem might only occur every two to three weeks.Is it the hub? does anyone know?  

Sonos are no longer a young start up, that has not had time to think about repair. Sonos, like all electronic products, occasionally one goes wrong. Your products are expensive to buy, and you could set up a repair workshop and repair them (or even contract it out). I'm sure this could be a revenue centre not a cost centre. I am a long time user with a reasonable investment in Sonos (seven units) - or six working units and a faulty one! I used be proud of my Sonos system, and promote the Sonos products amongst my friends, but this looks like you don't care about your users. If users don't feel valued, they stop caring about the company. How many other users have faulty units at home?

After updating to 10.4 the sound quality got worse. The bass is really low, had to tweak the equaliser up all the way. Still, it sounds hollow and no real punch. Calibrated with trueplay, didn’t fix the problem. Anyone having the same problems? Sonos One and Sub.

Hello everyone! I'm reviewing a Sonos Move speaker. So far it's been doing great except for one little caveat: When I use Bluetooth mode its volume decreases considerably. I presumed there would be a difference, but in my case the BT volume (at Max) is just about 50% of that of WiFi mode. Do yours have the same issue? Thanks!

It seems that I can only turn on the Sonos Move if it sits on it base. Is this the way is supposed to be?

Hi, I'm looking to replace my existing swimming pool amp with a sonos amp. As of today i have been unable to find any operating ratings for the sonos amp. Andy advice would be appreciated and if there's a good way to reduce humidity can you please advise?

I have a BenQ W1070 projector from roughly 5 years ago and have wanted to buy into the Sonos ecosystem for forever!  I finally splurged a few days ago and got a Port (to attach in my Yamaha YAS-203 soundbar), 2 play ones, and two play fives in an effort to massively upgrade my sound system.  I was previously splitting off the sound from the HDMI and wiring that to the sound bar via an optical cable.  Incidentally, I'm an electrical engineer by trade.Guys, I was blown away to find out how much trouble I'm going to have to go through to be able to get 5.1 surround sound working with the Sonos ecosystem.  I'm stunned!!  I don't understand the business strategy, to me it seems like the millennials who are low tech enough to, lol, want to wire in a turn table to their Sonos system, won't make enough money in life to afford a Sonos system!  I'm not necessarily even saying I want Sonos to play DD+ through the speakers because I understand the hardware issues involved, but at least inherently

Does audio only play from the Sonos app?

Sonos controller app (10.5) on Catalina (10.15.1) cannot connect to my Sonos system (an “old” play 1 and play 3).I can do the more options thing, which opens the setup dialog. I can press the pause/volume up combo on the speaker and get it to connect. But after clicking ok, nothing.Interestingly, the Spotify mac app can still connect and play music on the one of the two sonos speakers.All very curious.

Has Sonos yet created a way for long-time users to either recycle or trade-in in their old Sonos devices, i.e. ZP100's, for newer ones?

After updating to IOS 13.2 Apple Music is no longer fining my Sonos 1 speakers. Anyone else having this issue?

With the recycling program in action does this flag that the Play 5 Gen1 will be rendered useless/obsolete in the near future. What are Sonos’s plans for supporting this device in teh future? 

I currently have a turntable that I connect via Bluetooth to an echo dot that in turn is connected to the line in on Play 5 gen 1. It connects flawlessly but more often than not the quality is poor. I was convinced it was the turntable at first as it was quite muffled. I've since tried connecting the turntable directly to the play 5 and this sounds just fine. My question is, if I bought a dedicated BT receiver is this likely to work any better than the dot? Or should I bite the bullet and move my Play 5 near my turntable. My play 5 is underused in the bedroom it resides in so I could replace that with a cheap IKEA speaker. Thoughts anyone? Cheers

Hi guys Just got a Play:5 today and have a query about the volume levels. Basically it seems to play very quietly (almost inaudible) until 40-50% volume. Then the incremental increase seems to go very high. The Play 3's and 1's that i have don't do this. In fact at the same level, the Play:3 would be a fair bit louder. Seems to do this when playing from my local NAS and when streaming, i have seen an old thread about this but there didn't seem to be an answer. Is this a known issue or is there a fix for it? I have checked all EQ settings and have loudness on, along with Trueplay done. I did buy ths Play:5 as a certified refurb from Sonos directly and it looks brand new. Maybe there is a fault with it. The issue i have is a lot of the time i listen in the evening and want to be able to hear it without cranking it up to 50% just to hear it.

Hi- I've been using my sonos play:1 for a month. I've noticed a low bass popping sound intermittently. I've used the trueplay calibration twice to no avail. I've also sent off a diagnostic. Is anyone else having the same problem? An example track where this occurs is Coldplays track "magic". Any tips would be most appreciated.

Hi!Is there a way to connect my analog turntable with RCA or minijack output to my Symfonisk lamp without have to buy any additional device such as Sonos connect? I have a Apple airport express but this only hva a minijack output. Any suggestions?I also have a analog to digital audio converter. Not that I think this would help….
