Speakers

I suppose I misunderstood this feature. Can you confirm. When I take the Roam speaker away from my home Wi-Fi I can use it as a Bluetooth connected speaker to my phone but I cannot use the Sonos app to stream  a Sonos Playlist. I took it on the road this past weekend expecting to use it that way from the hotel room but couldn’t. Thanks.  

Hi,I have just bought a Sonos that says on the box Play:5 Gen 2. The first disappointment was that it wouldn’t play my apple hi res music. So I have deleted Apple Music and gone back to Tidal. This Play:5 was priced at €579. My worry is that I have bought old stock and that there is a newer model called the Sonos 5 which is the same price on the Sonos site. I can’t get any clear information on google. Also information very sketchy on exact specs. How do I know if I got the latest model. It was the last in the shop, a display model, so maybe I got the wrong box. What are the differences between Play 5 and 5. NB, it is definitely not a Gen 1, and all I can get is comparisons between Gen 1 and 2. 

I have a home Sonos network with many Sonos products running on my home Wifi.  I have a camper with a SoHo router installed.  The idea is to take my cell hotspot or campground WiFi as as the WAN connection creating a local LAN in the camper.  This all works as it should except for Sonos.  It seems that only one of my Roams work and I can't create the stereo pair.  The 2 Roams work as a stereo pair in the house but not in the camper.  Any ideas. David

I envision leaving the Roam (or pair of Roams) normally connected to the charging cables and only running off batteries the odd time I want portability (taking them out on the deck when I BBQ or possibly into the bathroom when I shower).Can I play the speakers while they are connected for charging? Can I leave them turned on all the time so they can be part of my home network the same as my Sonos Ones and Play:1s?

As a music lover and ex-DJ the idea of having synchronised music around the home has always been a dream for me.Before Sonos I invested considerable time, effort and money into hardwiring speakers in all main reception rooms to achieve it, especially for parties. When Sonos arrived I bought in straight away - it seems like my dream had come true.Though I have had spells of reasonable performance a consistent theme has always been and still is regular drop outs of some sort or another.I have a total of 12 Sonos units deployed (and 4 others awaiting deployment) and have invested £1,000’s in Wi-Fi and other technical solutions / input only to find that a new front opens up with Sonos typically blaming something non-Sonos for the new problem.So - is Sonos still fit for purpose? (in the average modern home, given the proliferation of tech and Wi-Fi therein).

I have a pair of sonos ones and want to figure out if I can get a sonos Move and have it paired with them. Saw someone already asked this and that the answer was no but I saw an article stating that you could so just want to see if there’s an update on this.

I just recently purchased the Symphonisk speaker and there is no sound. I don’t even get sound during true play. I do have a light on the front that is white. The play button and volume buttons work just fine and I can control my play 1 if the speakers are paired from the Symphonisk. From all appearances it just seems that the speaker is broken. 

I have a pair of Sonos One SL speakers; They are paired in my living room/kitchen area (same room 20 feet apart), and have a delay between them resulting in an echo or a “singing in a round” effect.I listen tonmusic less frequently now, it occurs intermittently and when it does I spend 15 minutes searching the internet, troubleshooting and searching for a solution before I give up and resign myself to a music-less sad life. It drives me crazy and makes me not want to buy another SONOS product. 

Hi Got my Roam today and liking it a lot. I’ve had it charging on a wireless charger for 12+ hours and it is showing as fully charged. Was a bit concerned to find it is fairly warm this evening despite not being used for 4-5 hours. This suggests the battery is being charged even though it is at 100% which won’t do it any good.  Or is this normal for speakers that are powered up but inactive?  thanks. 

I want to use the Sonos Roam on a sailing boat.Just in case it falls over board - does float?

How could Sonos join with IKEA?A brand like yours with it’s appearance, quality and status!In my opinion this is putting yourself down. I am a fond owner of many (12) Sonos items, but this collaboration makes me wonder if I should continue with your brand. I think you are making a huge -marketing- mistake. Best regards,Marc  

My roam arrives tomorrow and was curious if the roam will be able to stereo pair to a Sonos One I already have in my kitchen ? Using Sonosnet throughout my house.Like the idea of taking my roam on the go when out of the house and use with BT but when home I’d like to drop it back in kitchen to act in stereo pair with my Sonos One If possible - Will I have to repair every time I return home and place the roam back in kitchen on sonosnet ? Thanks for the help 

Hi - just want to check in so I can be absolutely certain before purchasing.  Can a Sub be bonded to a single Play Five or does it have to bond to a stereo pair only?  Thanks!

I am traveling the United States. I bought 2 Roam speakers for bluetooth playing. I have no wifi network here. AND I CAN NOT SET UP MY SPEAKERS. There is no support. Boot on chat, phone is offline, no mail answer. Now I have 2 plastic usless boxes for the next 2 month/  I wish this company go straight to hell. No. Really.

I am shocked at how long my return is taking to process.  Is this common?  Sonos received the item on 5/21 and I have heard nothing.  The only reason I know they received it is I kept the tracking number.  This seems like a long time to wait.  Can anyone shed any light on this?

Sorry to bring up what appears to be a routine question, but I cannot find an answer that applies to my situation.I got a new router (Orange Livebox4) a few months ago and since then have failed to get my Sonos 3 and 5 speakers to work (using controller 1). I eventually got them working by moving the Sonos 3 from my study to the passage cupboard containing the Livebox and connecting with ethernet.  I now want my speaker back in the study.I went to Sonos>Settings>System>System settings.First I selected Wireless setup and came to a halt because I was told my router password was incorrect (I double checked it by disconnecting and reconnecting other devices to my router).Then I selected Networks, chose my router network (the only one available) and was told “In Use”.I really don’t want to understand much more about networks.  I simply want to get back to listening to my music! 

Is their a way to pair up 2 Sonos Roams in bluetooth mode?

I am thinking about getting a Sonos Amp to power my KEF Q150 speakers and connect my TV etc to and I just had a couple of questions I am hoping you can help me with.I am wanting to connect my speakers to the Sonos Amp as well as my Pro-Ject Turntable via RCA cable and TV Via ARC.1.Can I use a Logitech Harmony remote to control the Sonos Amp to control volume and change audio source?2.Can I connect an SVS PB-1000 sub to the Sonos Amp?3.Can I add Sonos wireless rear speakers to the Sonos Amp to make it 5.1 surround sound?4.Is it possible to connect a Sonos ARC or Sonos Bar to the Amp to make a 5.1 setup?5.When I use Spotify or Tidal on the Sonos Amp, does it play at the full audio quality bitrate or does it scale it down because like it would do if using Bluetooth to stream the music?6.In a perfect world I would like to have an actual centre speaker for movies and tv shows. Is there any way to use a Sonos Amp with my KEF L/R speakers and also have an actual centre speaker? Can

At the lowest volume level, my pair of Sonos One SL’s are still too loud for late night listening for some types of music. 

Hi everyone!Today I finally managed to get my hands on the Sonos Roam and so far the experience is been great.There’s just one thing I’m wondering:Is it normal for the Sonos Roam to get warm while it is being used? I also own a Sonos Move and it gets warm as well but just in the area in which the amplifier is located. For the Sonos Roam however the warmth can be felt on the almost entire surface of the product.

Why is it such a d***dance to connect to everything.  I am $5K in to this product and love it after it takes an month to set it up.   The Roam and trying to connect to bluetooth has ruined one raod trip hotel party and 2 golf games.  Stop trying to be cute and innovate and just do what every other speaker does on the market and connect to bluetooth with a simple button.  Seriously, its f*****g annoying how much work it takes to get your product to work.  I have bought everything in the line up and love the sound quality when it works but it is serioulsy a 12/10 on the D**dance scale to connect to it at any given time Less getting cute on trying to get us to pay for radio stations and put all of the focus on R&D doing the simple things to make your premium priced speakers work without the hassle that you haven’t worked through If you have 5 pages of FAQ’s on how to solve problems then clearly you haven’t got there yourselfBe better please, I’m a huge fan and invested heavily Moderat

I have Sonos in several rooms but have only used it to watch TV or listen to Apple Music. I recently added two Moves for my backyard and love them. I now want to add a projector and 120” screen and would really like to play the audio through the Move speakers. Is there a way to get audio from the projector to the Moves, either through the app or Bluetooth? The source for the projector will likely be a Tivo Mini, Xbox, or Roku connected by HDMI. The only thing I could come up with was to connect my Arc in the family room to the projector to get audio on Sonos and then group the Moves with the Arc. I could then turn the volume all the way down on Arc and up on the Moves. That feels way too convoluted and I’m hoping someone here can steer me to something simpler.

The Sonos S2 app loses access to my wireless speakers. Rebooting the router works, however, using the app the next day all access to the speakers is lost and I have to reboot the router again. The only things that have changed recently is that I have moved to Sonos S2 app and have upgraded to iOS14.4 (and yesterday to iOS14.5). The version of the S2 app is 13.0.5, build 62.1.88070. The problem only started happeningwithin the last week, which is when 13.0.5 was installed.
