In process of upgrading to S2 and wonder if playlists can be moved or imported? My Sonos playlists do not appear on desktop (Windows) or iPhone S2 apps. Looking on here I see that they are supposed to migrate, so this appears to be a fault. All playlists are still visible and working in S1 app. Music is stored in iTunes folder on NAS and playlists comprise tracks that are physically present on disk. I have seen there is a third party app that lets playlists be played between S1 and S2 systems but I plan to eliminate S1 devices from the network.
Added the ARC to my new LG tv for better sound clarity. It has done that job, but now I’d like a more level sound volume. I wanted enhanced volume for dialog but limited volume for loud noises ( gun shots, jet engines, explosions, etc.). Input is cable TV and streaming movies. I’ve adjusted the Sonos app with enhanced dialog and I’ve turned on the night mode. The peak sounds are still too loud, as are commercials - is there any additional options I can try? It seems an automatic gain control should be available to compress the overall volume range.thanks in advancejon
I have a BT box, SONOS Beam 2 , SONOS One SL (x2) setup as asurrond sound.BT box HDMI goes to TV, as TV doesn’t support HDMI out (or optical port out) I use the optical port on the BT box via the SONOS optical adapter to the Beam 2.Google assistant is enabled on the Beam 2.Everything works, we play music and watch TV etc….fab.The bit that frustrates me is you have been listening to music in the lounge on the Beam 2 setup, you decide now to catch up with the news, turn on the telly and BT box….no sound.I have to go into the SONOS app, navigate to the Beam 2 setup and slide the TV Autoplay OFF, then slide it back on...now you have sound. Is this a software oversight that it doesn’t detect sound because of the SONOS Optical Adapter is not quite right or is there some other confiugration setting I need to change? Is there another way of getting the SONOS Beam to acknowledge the Optical sound, it doesn’t warrant a new TV.This is the ONLY issue we have, everything else works a treat. Neil
HI, I’d appreciate a little advice/guidance with my newly installed Arc… Is there a ‘test’ video or similar that can be streamed to verify the setup, let you change the ‘height’ and asses the differences, etc? I intend to pair it with two Sonos One SLs - I appreciate that I wont get the same sound quality as using Era 100s but is this still a valid pairing? Thanks in advanceCheers! mike
Sonos app update. 3 band EQ BASS-MID-TREBLE greater user control. It’s the weakness in the app.
As the title states, I have a new Samsung TV that is currently connected to the AMP via a HDMI cable. The AMP has 2 ceiling speakers connected via Speaker wire. The Arc is wirelessly connected to the Amp. There is a slight audio delay, so I ended up turning down the AMP (Ceiling speakers) and mainly used the Arc.There is a SVS Sub that is directly connected to the AMP as well. Should I connect the ARC directly to the TV? Then somehow integrate the AMP as surrounds? Thanks
I’m redoing our TV room (15’ x 16’) and trying to figure out what might be the best combo. I’m trying to balance value and quality here. Would the Beam and Sub Mini be enough for movies and general music? I’m new to this, so forgive my ignorance. We have several Sonos speakers around the house, but this will be our first TV sound system purchase. (Currently have a mediocre Sony soundbar and sub). Thx!
We have an older Sonos Play:1 speaker that I bought for my wife a few years ago, which she uses to play her music (MP3s converted from her CDs) from the SD Card of her Android phone. This has always been our only use for this device, with no interest in streaming services beyond occasional linear radio station listening. We disabled Android app updates via the Play Store a couple of months ago in order to block Sonos's stated intent to deliberately break our purchased product by preventing local file playback, and this seemed to be working fine until fairly recently. What I think has happened is the firmware in the speaker itself has somehow been updated, the result being that all of our phones are now insisting that we need to also update the apps before it will continue - which of course is the last thing we want to do!Web browser interface status report for the Play:1 speaker shows:SoftwareVersion 74.0-43110BuildType releaseSWGen 2SoftwareDate 2023-07-11 16:10:46.995094MinCompatibleVe
I’m running Windows 10 on a PC that’s about 6 years old. Some things I’ve tried:changing the library settings to point to the new drive & folder re-indexing the library removing the existing library setting and adding the new one uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app adding just one subfolderThe latter item seemed to work .. kinda. It worked for the one folder I added, but that’s not a tenable solution when I have approximately eleventy quadbillion subfolders of music, ya know???? It seems like there might be something hecky with the Windows share settings, but as I’m not a professional sysadmin, I’m not sure how to fix it.
I have a Nuvo based system that has 8 separate zones and 12 pairs of wired speakers, each pair driven by an Elan amplifier (12 amplifiers total). The Nuvo Music Port has gone bad, and I’m thinking of switching to Sonos. Since I already have an amplifier for each speaker pair, I’d like to use the Sonos Port as the source as opposed to the Sonos Amp. I’m thinking of combining a few zones so I could cover the entire area with 4 or 5 Ports. While this will reduce the independent zones to 4 or 5, I won’t have to buy 8 Ports (or even 12 if I wanted one for each amplifier). My question is whether the Port’s output can be split 2 or even 4 ways to feed the amplifiers without having a problem with signal attenuation. Comments from anyone who has experience with this would be much appreciated.
Here we go again, new phone and Sonos volume control does not work from lock screen, either it be the volume buttons or the widget. Sonos has done it again! have been through all in app settings aswel as security settings, I have a pixel 7. I have to physically unlock phone and then able to change volume .... Good security hey..
I've never used the queue function ever but it keeps popping up before I can get in to the app. Can it be removed?
Hello all, I am having an issue with my library that is stored on a synology NAS. The NAS is located at work and I use my home PC to sync my music library to the NAS. The NAS backup is in a to-way sync. Problem is, multipe versions of the same playlist are appearing on the android app, often followed by a series of numbers like it’s doing some sort of version control. I have checked my sync settings in synology and the files themselves. There is only one .m3u file in the playlists folder. How can this be remedied? Sonos documentation is not helpful. Is there a setting in synology that is doing a hidden version control/backup? I cannot delete playlists that don't exist in my files.
hi all!First of all, I’m new to the Sonos community. Love the Sonos Ones I have in some rooms, great sound and (user) experience overall. Its a bit of a pitty to understand that the soundbars are not offering so far video passthrough, which is required to extend the compatibility to budget “friendlier” 4K projectors. Is there any hope to see a soundbar adding a video passthrough? (its a shame to read suggestions to buy a splitter no matter which brand - it just adds another device and more cabling which is not nice).Overall - there is a huge community of “home cinema enthusiast” that is left behind with this. thks in advance,Andres.
I have a Sub Gen 2. I want to purchase the arc and era 300s. Will this be compatible and a 7.1 experience?
Context: Sonos Arc+sub+2xEra300 connected to a LG OLED C2. I want to keep my system compatible with Dolby Atmos as I paid big$ for it.Two simple use cases give no good result:It’s late, i want to use my Bluetooth headphones on my TV so that I don’t wake up everyone while playing my favorite PlayStation 5 game. We have a party, the kid wants to play Mario Kart on the TV. She wants the TV to play the audio from the game through the TV speakers while we still play our playlist during the party on the pleasantly loud Sonos Arc+sub+2xEra300And I don’t want to physically unplug the Sonos Arc each time I am in those two situation, as the cables are hidden in the wall.I sincerely believe I am not asking for something way out of the ordinary. But in both cases, the audio output of the TV switches back automatically to the Sonos Arc which is incredibly frustrating.Looking for a satisfactory workaround from the community. Plugging a “CEC Less” give no good result at this time (no more audio). I wo
Hey folksfirst time poster here, so, sorry if there is already a discussion on this topic somewhere, I’ve looked around but couldn’t find one. If there is, please direct me <3 Current system: I’ve had a Port and 2x Play:1s for a while now. It is an amazing sound that fills the room and isn’t overly directional. I use it for:Music over Sonos Radio or Spotify, duh. Have a ProJect T1 turntable and Dual amp connected to the Port. Use them as Apple TV speakers via AirPlay to the Port. The choice:So, I’ve been thinking about getting a Beam 2. Visually it looks much better than the Arc as it is smaller and I don’t own a TV. But I’d also be open to an Arc if it makes more sense.First, I kinda expect points 1&2 to “just work”™ I expect to group the 3 speakers up with the Port, because those use cases are first-class citizens in the Sonos ecosystem. My concern was with number 3 - if it actually makes sense getting a Beam (or Arc) due to the fact that AirPlay probably limits the playback qu
Hi, this morning i had to delete Spotify from sonos app.I wanted to reinstall it this evening and i can't find it anymore in thé app. She totally disappear from search bar result to add a service
Is the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO compatible with Sonos 5Is the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO better than the Sonos Pro-ject Debut carbon ?
Hi. Just linked my new Beam to existing sub and play:1s and get great sound from the TV via the Sonos surround sound set up. I also want to link my blu ray player and freesat top box to my Tv and listen to them via my Sonos speakers but only have 1 hdmi cable into the Tv so thought I could use an hdmi splitter to switch between sources. Am I correct and if so what features of a splitter do I need to look for. Thanks
I’ve been trying to set my lg c2 and my Sonos beam 2 to get Dolby atmos but all I had was Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0.I realize that some have problems with it but they solve it by changing by changing the options below. Note: I’m using Apple Music (Dolby atmos works fine when using through the Sonos app but isn’t on LG anyone else have the same problem?
Having had the Sonos addiction for many years, I am now fortunate to have multiple Sonos players in various rooms. When I select a group like ‘kitchen’ is there an easy way of synching the volume to all the players in that group? Currently I have around 6 players in total in the kitchen and depending on who used them last, i have to manually sync the volume using the individual sliders for each player. would be helpful if there is a ‘sync all’ type thing but I can’t see anything obvious.
I’ve recently changed broadband from sky to community broadband and I’m having difficulty connecting my speakers to the network, can anyone advise?
I have a lounge of 350 sq ft (32 sq meter). I have a TV with beam Gen 2 and sub mini. Very happy with TV/movie sound performance. I have also bought a Sonos Port and line-in switch to allow me to connect my turntable, CD player and cassette (yes cassette) player to the Beam for music. Obviously these are stereo not spatial audio inputs. The music sound is pretty good through the Beam and sub mini. It has replaced a 5.1 100 watt per channel home theatre amp with 5 Kef egg speakers and sub. I want good quality and sufficient volume for parties. Thinking about options to add 2 Era 100 or 300 or maybe even 2 Fives. If I set them up as stereo speakers for music would they be more powerful than the Beam or could I use them in parallel with Beam?Appreciate these could also act as surrounds to the Beam but that’s not my priority. Can anyone suggest the best option?
We just got a new wifi setup, with a new network name. I opened the app on my iPhone and followed the “let’s fix this” instructions per https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network?language=en_US .. I picked one device to reconnect (a Sonos One), pressed the button per instructions, allowed my phone to connect to a “SONOS” wi-fi network, per instructions, and… Nothing. My phone says “can’t connect to network SONOS” or something to that effect. My Sonos setup is already messed up because of a PC reconfiguration, and now my speakers are utterly unusable.
