The EVO works with the Play:5 or Five, but it also requires an external phono preamp. The Sonos edition has a built-in phono preamp.
From my understanding, the Sonos edition is basically the same model as the Espirit SB. Here is an article comparing the EVO with the Espirit:

+14The one slight advantage I find to an external Pre-amp is being able to have the five a bit further away from the tunable, as you effectively have double the length of cables. It is advised not to use very long RCA cables to wire a turntable to an amp or powered speaker, so the extra component, adds this extra distance.
