After updating to IOS 13.2 Apple Music is no longer fining my Sonos 1 speakers. Anyone else having this issue?
Hi! My Beam is playing music, and will turn on and off my Samsung TV...but it isn't playing the tv sound. For just a second my TV sound plays through the TV and then stops. I am using the HDMi connection.
With the recycling program in action does this flag that the Play 5 Gen1 will be rendered useless/obsolete in the near future. What are Sonos’s plans for supporting this device in teh future?
I've been reading and researching, and have come up with a plan that I'd like verification of to make sure I'm not making a mistake :) I currently have a home theater setup using a Sony STR-DN840 receiver, along with some old Paradigm tower speakers, as well as a M&K setup with 4 bookshelf, one center and a subwoofer. I'm looking to get into something that's easy to use (for my wife), that doesn't take a ton of fiddling (the Sony has a lot of audio options for music/movie/PCM/Dolby, etc. etc.), and just basically 'works' while sounding good. I've been looking into getting first a beam or playbar with some Play 1's or One's, as well as a sub, but then started thinking I could probably incorporate some of my existing kit to save some $, as well as perhaps get a better overall product. Lately, however, instead of the Beam, I have been looking at the Sonus Amp. Seems to me that it would cover the 'easy/simple' aspect. It would allow me to use the Paradigms as my front L/R speake
I talked to SiriusXM about this but they couldn’t help. Does anyone know how to make a channel a favorite in the SiriusXM section of the Sonos app? I’m on the new iPhone 11 Pro, if that makes a difference. Thank you!
I have nearly $2000 of Sonos equipment. I love Sonos. Now comes Trueplay for tuning my Sonos speakers. What? Only iOS? Does anyone else here have an Android phone? I have used a Yamaha 4000 sound bar for years with speaker tuning and I love it. I really think Trueplay would improve my Sonos experience so I guess I better get an iPhone? :S:?
Anyone know the maximum number of songs, albums, playlists, etc. that can be stored in My Sonos?
The question is simple enough: Can I use the Sonos Trade up discount of 30% to buy Sonos-certified refurbished products?
Does Sonos support the new 360 audio format available on Tidal and Deezer?
I am a newbie with limited understanding of connecting a sound system looking for advice. Recently moved into a house with four wired ceiling speakers that now have wires hanging out of my wall above my mounted tv not connected to anything. The previous owner took the rest of his sound system (amp, etc). I’m looking to add a Sonos surround system connected to my tv while utilizing the existing ceiling speakers. 1. Can the new Sonos Amp connect via HDMI to my tv and to the 4 ceiling speakers? The sound coming from the tv alone is weak for the room it’s in but probably will be enough once I connect the ceiling speakers. Is this a waste and would I get the same sound using a less expensive amp? 2. How would a Sonos Beam fit into the connections and would it be necessary? I would like the option of upgrading in the future which is why I’m drawn to Sonos. I use Alexa and Pandora and like the idea of having the option of adding wireless speakers to other rooms or even in the backyard one da
so I’ve recently signed up on the family plan with Apple Music. When I go to use Sonos my music and playlists are visible, but when other family members try to play their music choices on the same device, its only my music and playlists that are shown!? I can’t see a way to change this in settings. Surely this can’t be right? If they link via Bluetooth it’s ok, just not via WiFi!?
I honestly don’t know if this is an Assistant problem, a Vizio problem or a Sonos problem but figured I’d post here since you all are such a great community.I have a Vizio 55” P Series 4K UHD TV hooked up over HDMI ARC to a Sonos Amp and controlled over Google Assistant (activated via Sonos Ones set-up as rear speakers)Until recently, I could turn the TV off and on via Google Assistant. Now, I can only seem to turn it ON. In both cases, assistant responds to the command in the affirmative but the TV doesn’t turn OFF when I say off.I suspect it could be the Sonos component because it responds that the Sonos TV Den Control is the one responding despite there being a Chromecast built-in to the TV also.I have confirmed CEC is enabled. I can’t remember exactly when this started but it used to work perfectly well. I have tried hard rebooting the TV.Any other thoughts or suggestions?
My smart Xiaomi laser projector has got HDMI ARC port (which I used so far for the Sonos Beam). As per the pojector settings I can choose AUDIO output from: HDMI ARC and PCM digital output. Which is the best option to cope with Sonos Beam? Will the sound from Netflix and Amazon Prime be processed in Surround 5.1? (My Sonos system is Beam+Sub+2 One SL)
I currently have a turntable that I connect via Bluetooth to an echo dot that in turn is connected to the line in on Play 5 gen 1. It connects flawlessly but more often than not the quality is poor. I was convinced it was the turntable at first as it was quite muffled. I've since tried connecting the turntable directly to the play 5 and this sounds just fine. My question is, if I bought a dedicated BT receiver is this likely to work any better than the dot? Or should I bite the bullet and move my Play 5 near my turntable. My play 5 is underused in the bedroom it resides in so I could replace that with a cheap IKEA speaker. Thoughts anyone? Cheers
Does anybody know just HOW “improved” the DAC is in Port vs Connect? I’m considering adding a port to another system, but not if I’m going to end up feeling the need to run it through a better stand alone DAC like I do with the Connect.
Hi all, I am currently in the market for some Sonos gear and am trying to work out what I need to get the most out of the current home theatre audio that I already have.My overall goal is to be able to output different audio to all zones in my house at the same time or any combination of groups.Current Set up:My home theatre currently has a Denon X1500 which is set to 5.1 and outputs to some polk audio fronts, bookshelfs and sub. The remaining two channels are set to “Zone2” and output audio to 2 outdoor Boston speakers. The input to the amp is currently Desktop Computer, Xbox, Playstation.Future Set up:I would like to add 2 Sonos Ones. 1 to the other living area/kitchen and the other to the study.I would also like to add a Sonos connect/port to the home theatre in order to pass music from the Sonos amp to the home theatre speakers. This is where my questions begin.1. If the amp is off or set to another input (ie Desktop) and somebody pushes audio to the Sonos Port, the Denon will autom
I have a sub a playbar and two play fives. I set them up as a Surround Group. When I play music, Do the 2 play fives act as a stereo pair?
Hi! I have spent half of the day mounting Sonos One speakers on the wall to have a home theater surround system. Now I'm trying to add the speakers to my Playbase and the app acts like I am adding new speakers, asking me to press that connect button. But I already have these speakers registered in my system and that button i not reachable, I have to screw them both out from the wall to press it. Is there any chance I can convert already installed and configured speakers into rear speakers for my home theater? Thanks!
I have a Samsung UN32J5205 TV. It’s only 32”. I know that’s small for all of you, but I have tunnel vision, and it’s the largest I can manage. Anyway, I am a bit discouraged. I bought the PlayBase and 2x Sonos One speakers. I have the app setup with them as surrounds. I bought an audio extractor/HDMI switcher so that I could get the best vocal sound from source to my Sonos system. With the switcher, if I have ARC turned on, I don’t get sound. I called Samsung, and they are saying my TV doesn’t support ARC. If I have ARC turned off, I do get sound out of the PlayBase, but the 5.1 input puts nothing through my Sonos One speakers. Am I going to have to buy a whole new TV? :( IF and only IF there is no other way, which 32” TV should I buy to where I don’t have to use the splitter to get untouched audio from the TV into the SoundBase? Thanks much in advance for input/feedback.
Hello. Im making a semi audiophile setup for my pc. I'm going for KEF LS50 or maybe a used pair of KEF R300.For the amplifier im looking into Sonos Amp, but my concern is, can I use wireless for pc gaming for example? I Want to leave my onboard sound card for my headphone. Any sugestion on how to use Sonos Amp as my pc amp once it dont have USB in?
Morning All. I bought the 820 with the explanation that I could integrate my existing Sonos network with the Onkyo. I have yet to see the Works with Sonos option via the menu. I am running the latest Onkyo firmware and still no option. Anyone have any insight on this? THanks in advance!S
I opened the sonos app on the iphone 11 and it asked me if I wanted to connect via bluetooth. I wasn't logged in so it was just the raw sonos app. I chose yes and it connected to the speakers. Still wondering how that happened considering sonos Play 1 is not known to have bluetooth capabilities. I then checked on the iphones settings and bluetooth was off. It might have connected via wifi but still baffled. Aomeone, please help.
Hi guys Just got a Play:5 today and have a query about the volume levels. Basically it seems to play very quietly (almost inaudible) until 40-50% volume. Then the incremental increase seems to go very high. The Play 3's and 1's that i have don't do this. In fact at the same level, the Play:3 would be a fair bit louder. Seems to do this when playing from my local NAS and when streaming, i have seen an old thread about this but there didn't seem to be an answer. Is this a known issue or is there a fix for it? I have checked all EQ settings and have loudness on, along with Trueplay done. I did buy ths Play:5 as a certified refurb from Sonos directly and it looks brand new. Maybe there is a fault with it. The issue i have is a lot of the time i listen in the evening and want to be able to hear it without cranking it up to 50% just to hear it.
Hi. I am so frustrated with the Beam that I have. Ive only had it a few weeks but it only works on some HD channels not all and not on any SD channels. Its connected via ARC. It also has a constant ‘blip’ on one of the main channels that I watch so sometimes I’m missing a word or a phrase. Also it’s a bit of a hit or miss if it actually connects with my Samsung TV. I’ve lost hours on this. I can’t say this has been money well spent so far but I’m hoping things will improve. Anyone had the same issues or have any advice for fixing these. Thanks
Is there any converter on the marker that converts dts to dolby digital (With hdmi and optimal output and Hdmi input) Playing Blu rays With only dts HD or dts soundtracks is not possible With the playbar (I dont want to select pcm as output so that is not an option) Or IF anyone can recommend a blu-ray player With option to re encode dts to DD 5.1. IF you recommend one I need complete settings in audio menu. My Sony BDP-S 5500 has dolby digital compatible output (converts dts to DD 5.1 using edid) but its NOT I say again NOT working tried everything...reset all different settings etc. My tv supports DD 5.1 pass thru via hdmi (arc) to optical out on Tv so thats not the issue. Even tried connecting via coax out to toslink adapter and then to playbar without getting DD 5.1 . Please can anyone recommend a solution to get DD 5.1 to playbar When playing blu-ray disc with only dts soundtracks. The DD 5.1 soundtracks are always dubbed in some shit language like Spanish so I c
