Hi, is there a way to play podcasts that I get from my podcast app on my Android on the sonos speakers? Also I want to listen to the Australian ABC Listen App through the Sonos speakers? I'm finding the sonos app quite limited in term of accessing apps that I normally listen through.
Dear all, I am building my house. I have multiple Sonos speakers series 1 and 3 in my current house and wanted to move them into my new house. I also wanted to use multiple Sonos connect and link it to ceiling speakers in multiple rooms. my contractor has put power for Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling space but no hard wire for ceiling speaker to link to Sonos connect. The ceilings have been plastered and decorated… is there a way I can keep the existing Bluetooth setup and link to a Sonos setup? hope this makes sense, apologies if it doesn’t. Kind regards John
I have encountered a bug that I assume has something to do with locale/encoding. I am using the Sonos Controller on an up-to-date Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) on which the phone is currently in Japanese. I have just paid for YouTube Music and have added my account, but when I tap on "YouTube Music" from my list of services, I see this page: I assume this is an error page of some sort but it isn't being displayed properly. My YouTube Music account settings have my language set to English (UK), and my region set to Canada. I have tried changing the language on YouTube Music to Japanese but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. Any ideas?
Would I be able to join a Symfonisk speaker with a Play: 1 to create a stereo pair?
So, I want to setup a surround sound system using a LG soundbar and LG Subwoofer. The soundbar plugs into the TV using an optical cable, and the sounbar connects wirelessly to the LG subwoofer. On the soundbar there is an HDMI out which I was thinking about connecting into the Sonos Amp that I am going to buy to 2 ceiling speakers (I am using the Connect:Amp atm for some ceiling speakers) into the HDMI out on the soundbar so that I can connect my ceilling speakers to the soundbar and subwoofer, but if I do this will sourround sound still work?
Until recently I had a number of Sonos devices but only one of them was Airplay compatible. All devices are always grouped as Everywhere. When I play sound on an Apple Ipad it would automatically be distributed to all Sonos devices. This is great. Sonos is ecouraging owners to trade up to newer devices that are Airplay compatible. So I now have 3 Sonos devices which are Airplay compatible. But now when I connect to the same Airplay device that I previously did the sound is no longer passed to all devices. The 2 new Airplay devices are removed from the Everywhere group. Why is this happening and how do I stop this? I just want all the devices to be in one group.
I'm thinking of getting the new SONOS bluetooth speaker MOVE but have a few questions: 1. If I connected MOVE with my home's wifi network, it will work exactly the same as the other speakers and I can put it wherever I want, right? 2. If I'm not at home and bring MOVE with me, both the speaker and my mobile connected to the same wifi network, can my phone's SONOS controller app works and connect with MOVE, so I can search via the controller app and play the songs via MOVE? 3. When I'm home and have MOVE connected and grouped with the other speakers, can I also use my mobile phone to connect with MOVE by bluetooth at the same time, so I can play whatever content from my mobile phone (for example YouTube or other music services) and the sound come out from all speakers? Hopen I can have a reply from the expert here. Thanks!
I am eligible to trade up my (2) Gen 1 Play 5’s. Would I be able to trade up both Play 5’s and get 30% off each of (2) Gen 2 Play 5’s or 30% off only (1) Gen 2 Play 5? I found the description of the program a little confusing. Thanks
Well Sonos, when are you going to support Apple MacOS 10.15 Catalina?
I have just received a new Sonos 5 which I ordered after I was led to believe that my existing “legacy” Sonos 5 woud no longer operate as from May this year. Will the legacy product continue to work following the Sonos change in policy or I have I been suckered into buying a new product unnecessarily? My system is telling me that my device will “deactivate in 8 days”. What does that mean for ongoing use of the device?? Like many others, I have spent a lot of money on Sonos products over the years and I am extremely frustrated and disappointed by what has gone on here.
Currently have a Sonos Amp, and a Klipsch KSW 12, barely getting any bass from device. I realize that the Sonos is rated 8ohm, and the sub is 4 ohms. Have tried to turn power all the way up, phase is both set to zero. Have tried just LFE single connection, and also tried a 2-in-one connection. Wondering what issue might be?
I have a Connect:Amp that is a legacy product, so I am considering my options. I could do a one-for-one replacement with a Sonos Amp, or I could buy a Port and with the AU$280 difference in trade-up price find an old secondhand two channel amplifier or receiver on eBay. I’ve had a bit of a look, and there are some nice offerings from good name brands of yesteryear, and even today (NAD, Technics, Pioneer, Marantz, Denon, Onkyo, etc). What does the brains trust think?
Hi, I will give you a summary of my setup. I have a TV (Samsung NU7100) installed on a wall in the living room. From there (wall on which the TV is hang), many cat6 cables run through the walls to the mechanical room in the basement. I also have 5 speakers (2 in the back: L and R; and 3 in the front: L, C and R) and a sub in the living room. All the audio cables and the optical cable (for the subwoofer) run in the walls and end in the mechanical room downstairs. In the mechanical room, I have an amplifier (Onkyo TX-NR686), a TV receiver (Shaw Direct) and a Sonos Connect. The TV receiver is connected to the TV through HDMI, but over cat6. So there is a HDMI cable in the mechanical room that's connected to the TV receiver and to an HDMI balun. From there, a cat6 cable is connected to that balun and is also connected to a HDMI balun in the living room. On the other end of that balun is a HDMI cable that is finally connected to the TV. Therefore, the image and the sound from the TV receive
I’m sure a lot of us use old tablets to control Sonos, I use this Vizio tablet. After the recent update i’m getting a warning saying that my Android version, 6, is not supported. There is no Android update available for this tablet. The app still works, will it stop working completely in the future?
I have a Sonos Port going into high end amplifier/speakers. Has anyone had success adding additional components to improve the sound of the Port (or Connect)? I was thinking of maybe an external DAC or Preamp - but something that would maintain volume control within the app. Has anyone had success with this? It seems most external components (DAC/Preamp) would move the volume control to the upstream device itself, and not from the Sonos App.. Dave
Could 2 of the Symfonisk speakers be used with a playbar for a surround setup?
Hi All, I am a DJ wanting to connect my turntable and mixer to the Sonos speakers. I know through Sonos Connect there is a delay between the music played through the headphones and the actual music played out on the speakers. I have just noticed Connect has been replaced with Port so I am wondering if maybe this delay issue has been fixed with Port. Thank you
Hi all, I just purchased a Sonos Beam for our new apartment. Next, we’re buying a projector and really like the LG CineBeam PF50KS for its size and affordability. However, I have a concern about the connectivity between these devices as the LG doesn’t seem to have wireless connectivity and the Sonos doesn’t have bluetooth. I need to know if it’s possible to connect my laptop (Apple Macbook Pro) to the projector via HDMI for visual only, while simultaneously connecting the laptop to the Sonos Beam via Airplay (wireless) for audio only? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Can I play my Sonos playlist on someone else’s Sonos playbar?
I have a Samsung TV with sonos beam and 2x Plays for my surround set up. Everything worked fine until I purchased a Manhattan T3 freeview box. Now when i turn on my TV and watch TV on the freeview box, my sonos sound doesn’t connect immediately. It takes about 40mins and then all of a sudden it will then switch from TV sound to the Sonos surround. I have my TV set to the HDMI sound output by default. The sonos beam is plugged in to the HDMI / ARC port. When i switch on the TV and Freeview box, i try to manually change from TV speakers to the HDMI sound output, but it doesnt find it. I also go to the sonos app and try to connect, and it states no connection from the HDMI/ARC. I have also tried turning off TV from sockets, unplugging all devices from HDMI ports and pluggin them back in. I have also reset the beam, deleted from app, but still problem is there. Please help
Hi, My system has been working very well for now six months and suddenly last weekend seems to have stopped. I have a Beam, sub, and to play 1s and suddenly the sub in the play 1s aren’t working. I have tried to reconnect them all to get her via reset factory settings, and they won’t. Can you give me some advice on what to do please?
Can anyone recommend a power bank I can use to charge my Sonos Move via usb when I am away from mains power ?
I just bought Sonos Amp and Beam. I want to connect them with Apple TV 4K and Sony projector (VPL-HW65). The projector has just HDMI in, no HDMI ARC, no optical out. I have two passive rear speakers, and external subwoofer (Arendal). I set Sonos Beam with Sonos Amp as surround. 1) Sonos Amp works just fine as standalone room. I can hear both passive speakers as well as connected subwoofer (Arendal). But I can't hear subwoofer if I pair Sonos Amp as a surround together with Beam. Can I use external third-party subwoofer connected to Sonos Amp in 5.1 setup? 2) I'm sending sound from Apple TV 4K throught Airplay2 to Sonos (Beam+Amp(+LS+RS)). I tried default Apple TV > Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format, then Dolby Digital 5.1. None of the options work, it plays only stereo to all speakers. Is it possible to play 5.1 sound from Apple TV with Airplay2?
Hello everyone, I'm new to the community, even though I've been using a Sonos Play 5 1st generation since 2014. I would love to consider upgrading the system, and of course, money is often one of the main factors involved in taking decisions. I've never listened to a pair of Sonos 5 (1st or 2nd generation), neither a pair of Sonos one, with or without a Sub, so I have no empiric experience on my side. My question would be, is it better to by another second-hand Play 5 1st gen to pair with mine, or to sell my own one and buy two Play One and may be one day add a Sub? I wasn't able to find a similar thread on the community, but I hope not to be redundant.
