I have a Play 1 which works with my iPad pro and iPhone but won't work with my 2013 MacBook Pro. When I set it up the first time it worked across all devices but not any more. I have configured my firewall to work with the Sonos , I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but still no luck. Any suggestions
Do you guys turn up the Surround Sound speakers when using with a 5.1 setup? This is for watching movies and TV (not music). It's currently set to the "middle" option in Advanced Settings but sometimes it seems a bit low...I'd like to raise it a little bit but still want balanced sound. Let me know if you turn it up and if you do how many "clicks" up from the middle option do you set it? Thanks!
Hi, I own a Play5 (2 gen) for a few months and I am considering the benefits of buying another one for stereo pairing. For that, I would like to hear the honest opinion of people who tried both setups regarding whether the improvements with 2 speakers worth the money or not. What might affect my decision: -It stands in a medium size bedroom, plays mostly for personal use and in volumes from 15% to 50%, -I bought the Play5 simply for the sound quality over Play1 and Play3, not exactly for loudness. -I send my TV audio to it as well, but 90% of the time it's for music straight from Spotify. -I am more a fan of clean than powerful sound. Thanks in advance
Mike English: Goodevening, i have recently purchased two play 5's and one sonos Sub, the play 5's are positioned vertically on a dresser, but the sub is placed om the floor. This is a nasty place for the sub because of possible damage due to vacuuming etc. I would like to mount the sub onto the wall. I am familiar with two brands that make and sell brackets for the sonos Sub, Flexson and Vebos.
This is for anyone who is planning on buying a Connect! I hope to also cover concerns that you have that I also had before I bought one! I am posting this on Sonos's official website because I have LOTS of good to say about my experience! Why would I post something negative about Sonos here? (this doesn't mean I am biased ;p) TL;DR: It's gr8 and I now use them as my desktop speakers. My Sonos is now WAY more versatile than normal speakers and input delay isn't an issue even though it working through your WiFi. What made me buy a Sonos Connect? Was there any input delay? Was the delay significant in gaming and other applications? Was it easy to setup? I'll answer all of these! First off, I chose to buy a Connect due to the lack of inputs available for my two Sonos Play 1's. I loved the build quality and sound these speakers produced, and found the only way to get a line in was to buy a Sonos Connect. Even though the whole setup cost me almost £600, it was worth it! Setup
Hi there, Could someone please explain whats the main difference between Sonos Boost vs Sonos Brigde ? Yes, i use 5.1 Sonos system and all components connected to my home WIFI router without wires. So far so good, just few times noticed "unable to play Spotify song and skipping " when WIFI was in heavy usage at home (it was 4 users at home all were using same WIFI network). So my question, whats the best to improve performance for Sonos 5.1 - Boost or Brigde ? Thanks in advance
I'm looking for a way to remotely control Sonos volume without phone/tablet/controller. I would like a simple device that provides volume up/down/mute. Sometimes it's nice to walk up, press a button and mute a zone (or change volume, etc) without the need to pull out the phone, unlock, go to sonos app, select the zone, and then change the volume. Ideally, this remote volume control would be assigned to control one or more zones. I've had Sonos since the days of the original controller and the zp100s. Back then I wired volume controls in rooms to achieve what I'm describing above. Now I am looking for the flexibility of a wireless solution with better Sonos integration. If you are familiar with Philips Hue lighting devices, then what I am looking for would be something similar to the Hue dimmer device which allows you to easily control one or more lights without using the Hue app.
When I try and add tracks to a playlist I get the following message: No playlists have been added to your Sonos playlists yet. The playlists do show up momentarily but are then replaced by the error message - it is really quite annoying and hope that it can be resolved quickly. Many thanks
Located in Italy, I'm a recent owner of a Play:1 - mostly devoted and die hard fan of Bang & Olufsen brand for my main setup. I'm a long standing IT consultant, working for a leading consultancy brand since too many (two figures) years. :) I'm getting a great experience and quality, paired with outstanding support, looking forward to enjoy the commmunity. Feeling already home. 🆒
I am having samsung UE37C5100 connected to playbar. Weird behavior here: i listen the same TV program directly and audio level is pretty low. If i listen to the same program while in PIP with the main set to DVI (PC output) the audio level is higher. Anyone is having similar issue? Thanks. I am on Sonos 7.
Probably someone pointed it out already, but I feel a surround test tone in the sonos app would be useful. A lot. The classic "This is Front Left channel, This is Front Right channel, ..." voice that comes from the speaker it is referring to. As a Sony TV owner I had the luck of having the full 5.1 surround signal coming from the optical out, but a lot of people have TVs where the optical out only manage a PCM 2.0. With a simple tone like that you could know immediately if your surround works and if you set it correctly in terms of L/R. The test tone page could be put immediately after the one where the creation of the surround is confirmed. Maybe it could be made in the same way as the sub's one is: the test tone plays on the surround and you can manually adjust its volume to your taste. Basically the same concept found in the manual volume control of the surround when listening music, but for movies. (If I'm not wrong the surround level adjustment right now affects only th
So sonosnet started asking for a password. Never did before. I have no idea what it is. How do I reset? I have searched the forums and nothing is working
LEDs for Ethernet connection blink and are distracting in dark rooms (my Sonos that is connected to the Ethernet is in the bedroom). Can we have option to turn those LEDs OFF? There is option to turn on main indicator light but not Ethernet LEDs. I have seen similar feature on Cisco routers.
I added a new Play1 (having to connect to my router and doing a factory reset) and now my existing Play1 won't play despite showing on the system).
When trying to stream normal audio from a Connect RCA line in to a remote Connect the audio drops in and out consistently. Numerous accounts of the same issue are in the Community but no solutions, not even adding the Boost works. Is the product just not able to handle streaming a line in without the drops?
Have just invested in a Sonos set up for the first time, and took the plunge with a pair of Play 1's, figuring that every single review without exception said they sounded fantastic. I'm slight underwhelmed to be honest. They're on wall brackets about 8 foot apart, have run Trueplay & the sound quality is not blowing me away. Listening to radio stations on tune in does sound pretty damn good, but streaming spotify/Google play music, it sounds a bit flat and undynamic. Anything with a bit of complexity, there is no detail, the bass is a dull thud and it all sounds a bit muddled. I did so much research before buying and reviewers and consumers alike rave about the crystal clear sound and finding details they've never heard before etc. Am not finding any of that. I'm far from an audiophile, I just like clear dynamic sounds from my system Any thoughts? Run trueplay again?
Sonos team, your product is the perfect candidate for recessed can light speakers. Just sayin' Just build the speakers into the recessed enclosure rather than the light bulb (unlike most of the junk that is available right now)
Sonos Play 1 will drop off the system or stay on the system but sound will be intermittent or not at all. I have tried changing the channel from 11 to 1 to 6
Hi I REALLY miss the ability to mute a single zone! Why did you change this! So many times I want to mute just one for a moment without stopping the other grouped zones. This is really a downgrade for me. Any chance you can make this configurable, or somehow still allow the mute button to function as an actual mute button?
I know this has been asked many times in the past, but when I search for an artist it does not search compilation albums while sorted in itunes compilation or Album Artist. I find this incredibly frustrating as i have hundreds of compilation albums. I have switched on contributing artists, but the search function still doesnt search them. Can this be added at all in the future?
I've been listening to WOSU-FM, 89.7, in Columbus, Ohio for years through my Sonos system. Now all the sudden it won't play and I get an error message saying the station can't be found. Do you have a way of check this out? Thank you.
Question & Inquiry about the setup that the Technician made in my Dad's house.
When will I be able to tell Siri or google or Alexa to play on sonos ?
A Sonos customer suggested: Alarm clock Volume gradually increased. Example: 8.00 alarm start with 20% 8.05 increase Volume to 30 % 8.10 increase Volume to 40 % Feel free to leave your support.
I really wish SONOS would get on a develop a True Play App for Android. Its very frustrating that there are more Android Phones than Iphones so there really ought to be an app. I read somewhere about the complexities of different versions of android but other developers seem to be able overcome this so why not SONOS. rant over!
