As far as I can tell, the only way to toggle Nighttime mode and Speech Enhancement on my Sonos Beam is to use the Sonos app on my phone. Is this true? I hate having to power up my phone app just to turn on these functions. Plus, the app has utterly unintuitive navigation.I have both my Sony TV and my Harmony universal remotes programmed to the Sonos, but they only allow volume control. If the Beam was designed with an IR sensor to allow this, why can’t it also control the on/off control of these two important functions?I can also control volume (crudely) with Alexa. But when I tell Alexa to turn on nighttime mode, it tells me that function is not supported on my device. When I tell Alexa to turn on speech enhancement, it responds with a bloop and nothing happens.Surely if the remotes--and Alexa--can control volume, they can be made to control these functions, as well.
Hey everyone, first post here!Moving to a new place at the end of the year and considering what sound system to get. I've had a small Sonos One in my current place (small living room where I use it mostly for music) which I love, so I'm thinking of fully buying into the Sonos ecosystem.Currently thinking about the TV set-up, I've got a 55" TV with eArc capability which would work well both with the beam and arc. My biggest concern is that the Open Plan is L-Shaped (roughly 60sqm), so the "TV Area" will actually have a wall on only one side, will the Arc work well anyway or should I get the beam and invest in a couple of Sonos Ones for the rear?Would this be enough to have some background music in the other parts of the open plan?Note: I'm not too into sound so I'm not looking for super precision, I just don't want it to be terribleThanks :) Open Plan layout
Regarding the new Sonos Move, very curious to know if one could still group in other speakers when using the bluetooth connection option and presuming that the Move is also connected to Wi-Fi. Or is it a case of the bluetooth option being fully stand-alone, and the Move can not simultaneously use Wi-Fi and bluetooth?
I have a Sonos Beam and Vizio P55-C1 tv. Everything was working fine for over a year. Then all of a sudden I stopped being able to control or hear the TV sound through my Beam. I have rebooted the TV, checked to make sure CEC was turned on, verified that the Sonos Beam is showing connected to the TV, verified that my music is playing through the Beam, also unplugged then plugged in HDMI cables. I am getting a CEC error when I check the connection. Any ideas?
I have an Amp setup with two Sonos Ones for Surround. Having bought an Arc and Sub I discovered the Amp and Arc cannot work together and the Sub can only be connected to one of the two? Hopefully somebody can help me out here as I think I just made an over 1.500 euro mistake? My Setup is:Front: Amp with 2 speakers (left/right)Front: (*new*) ArcFront: (*new*) AmpRear: Left and right Sonos:Ones The thing is this is a place to both listen to music and the the tv. Even if the Amp and Arc cannot function together I would like the Amp to be able to also use the Sub for music.
Hiya, I use spotify and rather than adding the songs i like into a playlist, i like them, meaning they are all together, under ‘Liked Songs’. Does anyone know how i can play these songs on my sonos, i can’t find a way! Thanks! Amelie
My Sonos Arc has been working fine the last weeks but a few days ago the audio from TV stopped working? Seems like the Audio Return Channel function just stopped? I still see the wallpaper from Sonos when I choose the HDMI - ARC source on the TV, but no audio. Tried the troubleshooting in the app and seems it happened after the automatic firmware update. I have tried all the regular stuff like unplugging the HDMI, cutting power and fiddled around in the TV settings. All other sources are connected directly to the TV TV: Samsung UE55D8005 Sonos Arc+sub Please help
I bought a beam to help with the problem of when watching tv having to sometimes turn the volume up to hear the dialogue, while music plays at a much louder volume. With beam installed per instructions the problem is much worse. I’ve just watched the Hobbit movies on Viaplay. While the special effects and every hiss from the dragon blasts at high volume, at times you can’t hear the speech. I’ve turned on speech enhancement, it makes it better but not good. I also tried night setting but that didn’t make much difference. Is there a setting adjustment I can make so there is a balance between the sounds. I really could care less about the hissing dragon at max volume, but I do want to hear what people are saying. It’s a pity to have to turn on texting to follow the plot. Is there an adjustment that will fix this? If so what do you suggest?
Hello, I am trying to setup my arc with the sub gen 3 and 2 sonos one SL. For some reason I cannot setup one of the sonos One SL and always get the same error message:I have already a few sonos product properly setup in my network, any idea what can cause this?
On my other Sonos Plays, I use the top button to restart the previous service/music that I was listeting to. Way more convenient/faster than using the iOS app… No such trick on the Port without any button on this box, right?
I have upgraded my system to S2 . I now have two Play 5 Gen 1 speakers that I would like to use in a barn that has no internet connection (only cellular 4g) Is there anyway I can use these speakers using a Bluetooth receiver in the Line In port ?Thanks
AirPlay doesn’t work, or takes forever to start anything. App doesn’t work spewing “can’t connect” “error” and other BS messages.Everything was fine with the older app. My setup has literally not change, except for this crap new app. Now I’m using my $100 Nokia speaker, because my $5000 Sonos setup is ******* unreachable. And do not blame this on the “network” or “router” or “user”: I’ve been running a tight performant network for the last 5 years and it only improved in these Covid times. FIX. THE. APP! Moderator Note: Edited post inline with the Community guidelines.
Sonos Gang,I have a Play 5 (1st Gen) in the corner of my rectangular roomed kitchen-diner (approx 8m x 3.5m) and I think it’s time to upgrade. Two options in my price range - a direct single replacement of the Play 5 for a new Sonos 5 or two Sonos One SLs, separated in each corner. The two SLs would be approx 3.5m apart so should have good stereo separation but the 5 is obviously better kit on a single speaker comparison. Two x 5s would be ideal but budget and side space won’t stretch to that.Any strong opinions on what would give better depth and sound experience. Music tends to not be that base heavy where the 5 would really shine. Thanks
Hello:For the past year or so, I have had two Sonos systems between two locations. Whenever I switched locations, the Sonos controller app would dutifully switch systems. I updated both systems to the S2 controller, and everything still functioned properly. However, recently (mid-august) I have had to reset the controller on my phone (Android based) to get the software to recognize that I have switched locations. I have verified that I can control the other system remotely using my home security systems when the controller software is “confused” about it’s location. This would seem to be an issue recently introduced by a S2 software update. I do have these two locations VPN’d together, but this has always been the case, and predates either Sonos installation. Something has changed with the controller software that seems to allow it to leverage this VPN connection.
Just moved into a new home and have the following configuration / pre-existing setup.5 in-ceiling speakers in main family room - to be used as surround sound for TV 2 in-ceiling speakers in another 4 rooms (2 in each room)I recently purchased a Denon AVR and Sonos Port and 2 Sonos Amps, based on recommendation of A/V representative.I have the main family room speakers connected to the Denon AVR, along with HDMI cable to TV - this is working as expected.I have the speakers from 1 of the other rooms connected to 1 of the Amps - sound is coming through these speakers. However, each set of room speakers has isolated volume controls on the wall - these volume controls are not working. Not sure how to configure the ability to use the wall volume for each set of speakers?I have also connect the Port to the Receiver via the CD ports on the Receiver. I am assuming the Port will connect to the AMPs via wireless connection (?), as the Port and Amps are all connected to my home Wi-Fi. Do I need to
I’m building out a small home theater in the basement. It will definitively include the Arc and the Sub. My question is the L/R Rear Surrounds. The Sonos website sells a package that includes the One SLs. The Arc and the Amp pages suggest that Amp+in-ceiling speakers can also drive the Rear Channels. Is there any drawback to using the Amp+in-ceiling speakers as opposed to the One SLs? (Besides price I guess since Amp+in-ceiling will be more expensive.)
Hi, I have a SONOS Play: 1 and primarily use it to play my local music collection over DLNA / UPnP i.e. ‘Show Media Servers’ & ‘Show UPnP Servers’ then I can just browse my personal collection. If I upgrade to ‘S2’ will I still be able to do this? Thanks,
How do I fix this. Both speakers work individually.
I have a 75 inch Samsung Q8FN and am thinking about replacing my sonos playbar with the new arc. My setup is made up of a playbar, (2) play 3s, and a sub. The airplay compatibility is an easy upside but paired with my current tv I am curious if I will be able to take advantage of the dolby atmos and upgraded audio. Does anyone have knowledge of whether or not my tv will be able to take advantage of dolby atmos or if I cam just upgrading for newer hardware and airplay compatibility?
Hi Support Team, My setup is Sonos Arc + Sub+ 2 Play One. I have done the Trueplay. Watched Netflix movies + Document series; Apple tv + movies having dolby atmos. Sonos app displays dolby atmos. However the height channels is not effective. Although the sound is amplified (May be due to my 5.1 setup), the height channel cannot be determined. It looks like playing from front & surround and no height related sounds. My house Ceiling is 6.88 ft from Sonos Arc , Sofa Listening position is 9.84 ft from Sonos Arc. Tried moving front. No noticeble difference coming from height channel. The Sonos Arc is placed on the TV Console horizontally. Not mounted. Kindly assist on this Dolby Atmos height related issue. Thanks.
Hi Everyone,I’m asking for help. I want to connect B&O Beosound 3000 with speakers to Sonos. But I also want to be able to use the B&O speakers to play the TV sound as for movies you can’t beat it. Is this even possible? Provocations I was thinking through..1. Split the AUX on the BeoSound and have one to a Sonos Port, one to the TV?2. Use a Sonos Amp and connect the TV to the Amp and the B&O AUX to the amp? Any help would be greatly received.
Hi, I’m wondering how much power the new Sonos Amp is putting through the sub channel? I was hoping to power 2 x Near IG8s2M and 1 x IGS13 subwoofer using the Sonos Amp. Concerned that the Sonos Amp imay be underpowered for this setup.
Hello! I am thinking about purchasing a Sonos Move, but I was hoping to use it as a Bluetooth output speaker with an Amazon Firestick or Apple TV connected to a tv. Will this work? Will the Move and a Firestick communicate? Will the Move and an Apple TV communicate? Hoping to do this for watching tv outside. :) Thanks so much! Jonathan K.
Does anyone know if Sonos will ever support the DTS sound formats in the near future? DOLBY is only half of the equation, and with nearly 1/3 of the movies now being made support DTS formats. There are several manufacturers of soundbar's that currently support both formats now. I am thinking of canceling my order for the new ARC for a surround system that supports both now. Anyone heard anything?
For many different reasons, it seems that I will be needing a 3rd party receiver to drive my living room speakers. Although I have been eyeing the Sonos Amp for some time, it just doesn’t seem to be the right fit for me. I will be running a setup with 4 in ceiling speakers. Likely 8 inches with pivoting tweeters from Klipsch, B&W or B&O. Could be Klipsch Reference-series or the B&W CCM683. I have a Sonos Sub but it will likely be too small for my living room area so I will likely be getting a 10-12inch 3rd party sub as well. That means a 4.1 system (with a phantom center making it 5.1). I would like to keep the possibility open for adding two front speakers (floor-standing) to step up to Atmos at some point using two of the in-ceilings for height and the other two as rears. Any good recommendations for a good 3rd party receiver which “Works with Sonos? Would also like some input on how well it works - does the receiver switch on, switch input and adjust volu
