Since the Alexa upgrade it does not appear possible to access the Sonos Support Info (track count etc). If there is a new way to get at this info can you please point me in the right direction? Or, if the info is no longer accessible, can it please be reinstated asap?
The bass is intermittently cutting out on my S5, is there a fix or update?
Why do I have to go to the Sonos App Store each time I open Sonos????
Hey Everyone, I just took the dive into the sonos community. I just purchased a playbar and 1 play:1. I wanted to have the option of being able to have music in a few separate rooms in the house for when I am entertaining, but I'm finding myself wanting more already! I want to eventually get a SUB but for now I will need make it work without one. For now I am looking at adding another play:1 so I can achieve surround sound with the playbar (minus the SUB for now) and am wondering if I group those all together for surround sound can I set the play:1's up to play standalone full volume music as well. Like can I move a play:1 into dining room if hosting dinner to play music and then move back into living room for surround again? Will this require me to ungroup and re set up each time I want to do that? Sorry if this is confusing but thanks everyone. I'm already becoming addicted to my sonos system.
Just pulled the trigger on a new Playbase. Wondering what to do about ethernet. At the moment I've a physical connection from ethernet port on the wall behind the TV going into my media/PVR device (Youview box). Should I just leave this alone and rely on wifi for the Playbase or is there any benefit in putting in a switch and hard-wiring both devices with ethernet cable?
I have a Connect Amp feeding into a switch box that selects between two pairs of speakers. I also have a pair of Bose Soundlink Revolve+ Bluetooth speakers for portable outdoor use. I'd like to have the option of playing the same music through the Bose speakers as through the Sonos. Could any of you folks recommend the best way to achieve this, if it can be done? I am wondering about parallel wiring out of the Connect Amp a Bluetooth transmitter that has speaker level inputs, if such a thing exists. Or perhaps inserting some sort of adaptor between the Connect Amp and transmitter to convert speaker level to whatever the transmitter accepts? My concern is with impedance, which I don't fully understand. The speakers connected to the switch box are a pair of 6 ohm nominal impedance Mission Cyrus 780s and a pair of standard ceiling speakers (I assume 8 ohms). I think Sonos say that speakers connected in parallel must be 8 ohms or else the Connect Amp could be damaged. I'm unsur
Hi, I am thinking of getting a Sonos 1 so I can multi room around the house. At the moment I have a surround sound (Sony) linked to a chromecast. When Sonos support google home, will I be able to link two Sonos speakers (which will be in other rooms) and the chromecast together via google home or does chromecast only link to devices with Chromecast built in? Really like the Sonos 1 but I don't want to buy 3 so need to find a way to link to my system I already have in the living room to other speakers around the house.
I messaged Sonos like a year and those ******** never got back to me they need to let their costumers they need to let their costumers lost their stations alphabetically to make it easier to find stations
As we all know, PLAYBAR doesn't support DTS audio. If you feed it DTS, you simply get "unsupported" as the input type and silence from the speakers. For my birthday today, I received a Superman blu-ray box set and looked forward to watching the movies in HD and PLAYBAR surround sound. Unfortunately, as the PLAYBAR doesn't support the DTS encoded movies, I am unable to play them back in surround sound. VERY disappointing, especially for my kids who bought the box set for me. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that I wouldn't recommend a PLAYBAR to anybody until they fix this DTS issue. It's extremely frustrating to know that many blu-ray discs will not work in 5.1 for PLAYBAR and I can't believe that DTS decoding wasn't included on a device that commands such a high price. To get PLAYBAR in 5.1, you need to have the unit itself plus a SUB and 2 x PLAY:3 devices. That's over £1700 and it still won't do DTS! Ridiculous. Compare to this Yamaha soundbar... http://www.amazon.co.
I would really like the new Play 5 Gen2 in white, but I have an issue with the front being black. Is there any possibility now or in the future of having a Play 5 Gen2 in the same color scheme as the white Play 3? The black front is not as discrete as I would like it to be.
I've had a Sonos system now for 7 years and in that time I've seen the full benefit of a wifi based music service. For the principle purpose of playing music around a house, bluetooth speakers just doesnt compare. However I am still confused why sonos see the question of 'wifi or bluetooth' as one in which we actually have to decide and go with one of the two options. Bluetooth performs a competely different function and has a completely different set of benefits to wifi. It allows one for instance to be watching iplayer on a laptop and instantly have the benefit of an extra speaker, it allows one to effortlessly create tv surround sound with any speaker you chose (not just a ruddy playbar). Alot of the topics within this forum question how can sonos speakers perform these relevatively basic functions. What answers do we get? Various software work arounds or some tedious way of connecting a device in through a connect amp - which lets be honest defeats the point of a wireless sp
Latest update has completely broken our setup and we are VERY ANGRY. The latest update has completely shafted our perfectly working setup around the flat. We have 2 play 5's in a stereo pair in the front room, 2 play 1s in the bedroom, a play 1 in the bathroom, a new soundbar in the family room with 2 1s in surround config, a play 3 on the kitchen worktop and 2 play 3s in the dining room. WE HAVE SPENT A FORTUNE ON THIS SETUP AND JUST BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO HAWK SOME NEW USELESS ALEXA SPYWARE CRAP IN YOUR NEW SPEAKERS, OUR SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. Half of our speakers no longer work and the ones that do occasionally work drop out constantly. If this doesn't get sorted out very quickly, I will consider legal action and judging by the number of other complaints I have read, I won't be alone. I will never buy any more Sonos products again, and I will actively dissuade anybody I know from buying them. Good lord what a shambles. Sort this out please. And also, while you're
I got a flier from monoprice.com today that mentioned some thin Ethernet cables in multiple lengths and colors. If you are thinking about wiring your Sonos system one of these cables might be less visible than an older, fatter cable. Cat 6 - https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10232&cs_id=1023205&p_id=13538&seq=1&format=2 Cat 6A - https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10260&cs_id=1026003&p_id=27400&seq=1&format=2&cl=res Cat 6 is likely more than you need for Sonos but I didn't see any Cat 5E cables like these there. Possibly on other sites too, maybe cheaper?
In response to @ButterFinger74 on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ButterFinger74/status/375270850699612162 Hey @Sonos, when are you going to start supporting Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD on your soundbar?
Hi New user and looking to add a Playbar, BUT....reading LOTS of unhappiness about "DTS" and compatibility. people talk about Playbar not playing their Blueray/DVDs. Can this be correct? I don't have Blue ray discs, just 100s of ordinary DVDs. Will play bar play the sound on those? Apologies if this is daft question but lots of people seem to be pointing to huge problem thanks for advice Philip
Hello, folks. I've moved into a new place and need floorstands for my beloved black, first-generation Play:5s. My local Best Buy was a bust. Then, I ordered the Flexson floorstands from Amazon, but after making me wait three weeks, it canceled the order saying they were out of stock. I hate Amazon now. Assuming the original Flexsons are unavailable, what's the next best alternative? Do floorstands for the second-generation Play:5s work as a substitute?
I have just received my 2 envelopes and labels for my 2 CR100s. Do you want the cradles and power supplies as well, or just the controllers ? The labels are for DHL. Will you be arranging a pickup, or do I do that ?
SONOS PLEASE CREATE an App, Software or Tool that Operates like "TRUPLAY" for Android or Windows Devices First, before I begin my discussion, I want to let all the people working at Sonos know your Customer Support is Excellent and the Products are Stunning with Breathtaking Sound Quality!! I LOVE MY SONOS SPEAKERS! *(Owner of Play:5 & Two Play:3's and Also, Adding Sonos Sub & Two Play:1's this weekend) NOW, I agree with most of the customer comments about NOT HAVING TRUPLAY OR AN EQUIVALENT AVAILABLE FOR ANDROID USERS. I don't understand the company's explanation/reason why they're unable to create a similar Truplay App for Android? Every Sonos Response on this subject, echoes similar answers; Which, discusse a microphone issue as the main obstacle? Android and/or Windows PC's have Excellent Microphones! Almost 100% of ALL Apps or Software can be used on either Apple iOS or Android Devices. The company's inability to make this small gesture a Top Priority for ALL S
Hi Sonos, love the speakers love the sound love the design, great great product, but you need to get your UI/UX folks in a room and seriously take a look at the iOS app experience, it is very poor, the cognitive dissonance, just the sheer difficulty in achieving any simple task. On any screen there are multiple touch points that slide screens in and out , up and down with little or no intuitive reasoning. Please take a step back, take a look, then redesign from the ground up.
Can you switch back and forth from music to the TV sound on the Playbar?I'd like to play music during the commercials without losing my place in the song queue. Is this possible?
Hi all. I used my Sonos home theatre to play some music today. After, I switched on the telly and wanted to watch. The sound will not work now. It comes through the system when I select the TV as the source. It won't work if I select the BT TV box. Was working fine before I played music. Anyone got any ideas?
I have ordered a new tv stand and was wondering if it would be ok to put the playbar in the middle section of this stand.Has anyone else done this and does it effect the sound. Thanks.
Many of us have about all the different Sonos speakers in different configurations. Which combination have you found your favorite for different situations. Recently - I finally setup a full 5.1 system permanently when I moved around speakers in some rooms. In my sunroom I now have playbar, sub, and 2 Play:1s. I'm actually amazed how much I like it even for regular music. It has definitely become my favorite room for listening to music. My least used room is probably my Living Room. Here I have a Pioneer Elite receiver and some very good B&W speakers and B&W sub (leftovers from when I had a wired surround system with all B&W that I split up). This theoretically should be my best sounding room but I in fact rarely play music on it. Convenience so much outways what could be perceived quality in this case. I have a Connect:Amp in my bar that actually is one of my most used setups. I keep an old iPhone 6 plus in here on a cradle as a dedicated controller. Connected
This may have been answered before but rather than having to find phone and go to app, select radio station etc I'd love to be able to have a dedicated switch which always turns Sonos onto my radio station of choice. Sometimes I turn my Sonos on only to find it's playing something different. Rather than having to find my phone I'd love to be able to switch channels from the unit. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have a popping sound sometimes on low level coming from the bass? . Can someone please help.
