Sonos is missing a CRUCIAL feature that really lessens the quality of the Sonos experience. By using the Sonos app on a smart phone, it is not possible to play all songs from an artist without manually going in and adding all the albums to the end of the playlist queue. This has been confirmed by a Sonos rep. A huuuge lack and a loss that should be rectified ASAP.
I set up my Sonos soundbar and it works great, but I can't control the volume with the remote. Setup is Cable Box > HDMI > Vizio TV > Optic > Sonos Soundbar. I am using the cable box remote (Cisco URC-8820). When if first set up the Sonos soundbar, the cable remote control worked for the Sonos soundbar volume. Then it stopped working and I cannot get anything to work. Even got a new remote from cable company hoping to recreate the initial setup config. I have TV set to "sound off." Any suggestions?
Hi, I have a simple home cinema setup - projector connects to an AppleTV, and a remote airplay speaker. No TV. There's no way I can run a wired connection between the Apple TV speaker so airplay works great. Newbie Question: I want to investigate an improved Sonos playbase setup with (perhaps) 2 play1 satellite speakers. But I am not certain how I can stream the AppleTV sound to them. Any suggestions? Thanks!
planning on putting one of my Play1's in this box so I can keep it outside and make it "some what secure" from tampering (or "borrowing"). Only opening right now would be to snake the power cord. Bolting this to a shelf that is on the patio. Direct sunlight will be on this for a few hours each day. Naturally when playing media, door will be open, but otherwise, would expect door to be closed and locked. Should I expect that idle heat generation may be a problem? Outdoor temps here rarely get above 85 during direct sunlight hours (patio gets shade early in the day). It would be possible to drill vent holes in the back, but I would prefer to be as sealed as possible. Play1 will be brought indoors during winter and anytime I'll be away from home for a long period of time (typically a week).
I recently purchased a Sony Bravia A1E Oled television. I’m trying to find a way to set the tv remote to control the sonos volume. Our previous TV let us do so. We could adjust the master volume with the Apple TV or the televisions remote. Any idea how to accomplish this?
Possible to use Beam as a rear speakers? Benq Projector is placed rear in my room, don't want to wire cable to front of the room. (Beam as rear speakers wired to Benq W2000. Wireless to front there is a SUB and two play:1)
I have successfully imported all of my iTunes playlists into Sonos. However, when I select an imported playlist to add to my queue, Sonos auto-resorts the songs by artist, not by album. I'd like to hear the songs by album, not artist. For example: I have an imported playlist called "Soundtracks - Top Rated". When I add this imported playlist to my Sonos queue, Sonos resorts all of the songs by artist, not by soundtrack. So the songs are mixed, regardless of the movie/play soundtrack. How do I sort the selected queue to play by album so I hear the full soundtrack as it was intended, not by artist? Thank you.
I am one of those few people who does get upset when I get the feeling my privacy is compromised by hard- or software firms, so after following a recent discussion on this forum (in which the person who expressed a concern was extremely badly treated by the community) I thought I would turn to Sonos directly with 3 very specific questions which follow: "My main issue/question is whether or not any record is kept of what music I listen to? I listen almost exclusively to my own music (not streaming services who obviously know what I am listening to) and that is what my question refers to. My second concern is how I can opt out of data collected about when and how long I use particular Sonos components. This provides you and whoever happens to hack you successfully with data about when I am at home which I would not want to share with anyone. Finally, your website shows how I can opt out of some data collection by going to the Advanced Settings on my iOS app and swi
I added an album to my itunes. I went to Sonos to update my music library. Afterwords, the album was not in Sonos. I restarted the system and updated the library. No new album. I deleted the music folder from my PC on my Sonos system and then readded it. Still no new album. There seems to be no way to get new music on Sonos. Very frustrating. I did a search for a few of the songs. They are not found within the Sonos system.
Hi! I saw that today Google has announced the launching of Google Home officially with Google Assistant in Spanish. Are there plans to bring Google Home to Spain?
I have read on other forums that connecting two pair of speakers to one Connect:Amp is ok as long as they are 8-Ohm. Does this apply to exterior speakers as well? I am looking at the Klipsch AW-650 and wanted to make sure this setup would work.
Has. By one else noticed their phones battery draining after the latest App upgrade. Sonos has jumped to the top of my list showing app and battery usage. My phone has suffered significantly since the last upgrade and I’m having to quite the app as soon as I have interacted with the system in order to maintain battery for the day. Before this upgrade I never had any battery issues
Hi, new here. Moved to share because of the experience I’m having right now listening to a single Play 3 that I just mounted in an upper corner of our enclosed porch. After 40 years as an audiophile I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like this. This little speaker was out here before on a table and it was great, but we rearranged and the table went away; so I bought a third party mount and attached it to a brick wall alongside a wall of glass, in what I now realize is a perfect horn configuration. I am shocked at what this tiny speaker is doing! Since I want the loudness on, for richness at low volumes, I have the bass down on its lowest setting. This is the most compelling sound, for every kind of music to which I’ve listened tonight - thank you! How can these tiny speakers make this low bass? Twelve feet away, this one speaker sounds like front row center on an intimate sound stage that is perfectly damped. Lesson - if you haven’t put your single Play 3 in a corner with walls exp
I’ve been trying to search to see if the OPPO 203 will work for what I want it to do. I have reached out to Oppo and cannot find an answer. I want a bluray player that will be able to play in Dolby Vision and HDR. I recently bought the LG UBK90 and realized it cannot decode a DTS signal into Dolby digital. I will end up returning it but I want to know if anyone has had luck with the OPPO 203 decoding DTS to Dolby 5.1 without it being directly plugged into the sound bar. I have gathered it will work directly plugged into the Playbar, but I want to know if it will work via HDMI on my tv since everything is hooked up directly to my tv and then the play bar is going into the tv via optical. I have an LG OLED C6. If anyone knows, please let me know since this has been driving me insane since I want both Dolby Vision and HDR along with 5.1 surround sound.
I have several Sonos speakers. I always change the volume for certain speakers in the group for better stereo sound. Is there a way to setup group volume presets? Any one know of any 3rd party apps that might do this?
There's a number of Bluetooth Buttons on Amazon and I've tried several to control the Volume, Pause/Play, and FF but they only seem so control the Volume on my iPads/iPods. Does anyone know of a BT button that will work with Sonos?
Trying to utilize a single SPEAKER to channel desktop audio(voice, music, gaming sound) and Sonos streaming music. WHat needs to be done or hooked up?
I am wondering if I already have one Play 5 (first gen) should I buy 2 play 1’s or another play 5, if my intention is to use them as tv stereos?
I’m having issues every time a text message or an app notification is received on my iPhone. It seems the only way to prevent this is by turning Bluetooth off.
I love my Sonos system however there is one issue that I find really frustrating. Every time I open my app when i get home, the volume for my Group has reset all the levels equally. I have different speakers set at different volumes in order to achieve the most even sound possible. It's frustrating to have to constantly reset the levels. This makes it harder to justify buying future Sonos as well because the more speakers I add, the more difficult it becomes. Maybe there is a setting I'm missing here? Please help!
I have 4 existing 4 ohm speakers. Will all 4 speakers hook up to a Connect:Amp? The speakers are Proficient Audio, 150W, 6.5-Inch Polypropylene Woofer, 1-Inch Supernil Soft Dome Pivoting Tweeter, Imp: 4 Ohm, Freq Resp: 37 Hz¿20 Khz Thanks!
I am using the connect amp with a pair of Bose 151se's which say they are 4/8 ohm compatible. Does anyone know how this works for them to be 4/8 compatible? I read 3.6 ohms across each one, indicating they are 4 ohm. And the Connect Amp needs 8 ohms. My Amp is overheating and i'm trying to eliminate reasons why. My speakers are at the back of my property line with no way to get wires that far, so the Connect Amp is in my shed. I identified that my shed was way above recommended operating temps for the connect, so I put a little window A/C unit in the shed to solve that problem. But through my troubleshooting, it led me to the question on the speaker ohms.
I really feel stupid. I just got a Connect:AMP, and tried to adjust the balance between the 2 speakers. But I cannot find how to adjust the balance on the Connect:AMP or any of the Play speaker pairs. I thought it was under Settings / Room Settings. But I only see EQ, Room name, Speaker touch controls, speaker status lights. Cannot find balance on the PLAY boxes either. Running 8.2.1 on IOS and Android. Thanks in advance.
I am over this BS! Do you know what it is like to have to be FORCED to do an upgrade on 6 (SIX!) sonos systems every week? Its never ending! JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT! If you are going to shut down features to force your customers to upgrade, then you should make it happen in the background. I don't want to have to deal with this, It disrupts my day! I have 6 sonos systems, home and 5 offices between my husband and me. This update struggle is so annoying.
Just moved into a new house with speakers throughout, walls and ceiling. They decided to leave me some equipment (see attached) and set it up so all the wires come out in the same place(also attached photo) Is there a SONOS product that can help me simplify this? I am fine getting rid of the equipment.
