I am unable to open Sonos Desktop Controller on my PC, which is running the current version of Windows 10. After displaying the Sonos logo, it hangs on the intro screen, which is just a white box. I tried uninstalled & reinstalling it, so now it’s getting hung up on the “Sonos setup” screen, which is also a white box. I’m running Windows Defender Firewall and the Sonos app is allowed to communicate through this firewall. The controller was working fine until recently and there have been no recent updates to Windows. Sonos is working, the apps on my iPhone and iPad are all working with no issues and the Sonos software is up to date (just updated today in fact). I'm also not able to launch the Spotify app on my PC, which is also set up to be able to communicate through the firewall. Any ideas?
Are there plans to release a Sonos Connect type device with HDMI connectivity? Here's why I ask. The HDMI connection between my TV and receiver allows my TV to both power up the receiver and to directly control the volume level of the receiver. (not just the line level out to the receiver) I would love to be able to do this with a Sonos type device. I picture walking into the house after a long day, opening up the Sonos app on my phone or tablet, playing a track and the Sonos device automatically powering up my receiver (including direct volume control). All this without having to walk to the hi-fi component shelf to power up the receiver and choose a suitable volume level etc..
Setting up a new Sonos Beam, audio sounds great as expected when playing music or when the xbox is set to sterio. But, I cannot get it to play when setting the xbox to 5.1 or bitstream (dd). My TV settings seem to be correctly setup to pass DD through HDMI, but I'm just getting nothing. I don't even know how to go about testing it until I can get another 5.1 input device to test the TV pass through. I think the problem is with the xbox, not the Beam, but I'm hoping someone here has encountered something similar.
I left my Sonos Play1 out in the rain for three days. It still works. I can't believe it. Yes, I am a moron. That said, I really need a Sonos outdoor speaker, because I am 100% sure I will leave my Play1 out in the rain again, and I don't know how many lives it has. I'm actually quite surprised there isn't already an outdoor Sonos.
When are Bluetooth and outdoor speakers going to be available?
Heya. I am trying to figure out if there is an easier way to connect a 3.5mm audio to a Sonos Beam. I know there are 3.5mm analog to optical digital* and then you can use the shipped optical digital to HDMI adapter**. * https://www.amazon.com/s/?field-keywords=analog+to+digital+converter ** https://www.sonos.com/en/shop/optical-audio-adaptor-for-beam.html I have tried to Google this, but do 3.5mm analog to HDMI digital audio converters even exist? I'm just curious if anyone has ever seen any.
Currenlty I we have a set-up of two Sonos 5, one sones 3 and four sonos 1 in a house of around 180 square meters. Our set-up is connected to our router via a bridge. We are experiencing holes in the streaming and wondering if the system is overloaded. It is espcially when we are playing on all the speakers at the same time. Would the stream quality change significantly if we replaced the bridge with a boost?
I am unable to mute both my Playbase and my Play:1 with my remote. This was working fine for a while. Now, just the Playbase mutes when I use the remote. Both devices are tuned to my TV, but my Play:1 is set up as a separate room because I want main sound coming out of my devices (don't want stereo.)
I have purchased a Play 5 on, as I wanted to just plug in my iPhone and play through the auxiliary input (I liked the sound quality and will build on the system later). The salesperson in the store told me I could do this. I have wifi but no router, and purchased the speaker only (none of the other 'bits'). However, when I've plugged the iPhone into the aux in, nothing happened. The light flashes but nothing plays. Is it not just plug and play? Do I need to set something up through a network first?
Hi, I'm trying to leave the SONOS beta as can't install the app on iOS devices. I'm receiving the attached error when accessing the Beta page on the website. Please advice how I can leave the beta. Diagnostics report: 1363486417 Thanks

I just received and set up my Beam. Because I do not have an HDMI ARC connection on my 65 inch 5 year old Visio tv, I had to use the optical connector. The Beam is working properly with my tv. How to I train my original tv remote to control the audio on the Beam. I understand that this can be accomplished.
I just want to let know Sonos that I am fed up with all the perpetual updates and password requirement (it is only a music system for christ sick not my online bank....). I am sure that commercial people would reply that it is to guaranty a safe system and better performance but still I am fed up.
Hello Sonosers! I have sonos all over my house and happy with it. However in my kitchen I have only one S3 mounted high on the wall. It does not cut it over the fans and general kitchen noises. So I wonder, get one more S3 and pair them or get two sonos1 and pair those. I am probably wrong but I am under the impression that the S1 has more "punch" than the S3? Thanks!
Sonos forced updates. I do not want updates. I bought the equipment, It is mine to use. I should not be forced to update the software, especially with such poor reviews of of the current software. I have contacted Sonos customer service with no resolution other than I must update. I will sell my Sonos equipment before I am forced to update and move to another platform, probably bluetooth. If I do not get a satisfactory resolution I will contact the Attorney Generals Office for Consumer Protection in my state regarding this issue. Do away with the forced updates or give me a refund on my equipment.
Ok, After the frustrating multiple attempts at update to system, my Apple Watch no longer controls the media on my iPhone Sonos App. This was great because I could control volume and skip to next item when using Apple Music or Pandora. Sucks you disabled this feature ... Guessing it was either not in your MVP or automated test suite ...
So far, does anyone find they're getting a lot of battery life loss from using Airplay to stream music? Personally, I was hoping this would be a way of controlling the Apple Music stream from the speakers using the Music app like it happens with the Sonos app, without streaming through the phone and using up the battery. (Yup, not much of a fan of the Sonos app, would rather use the Apple Music app)
Hi all. This just started for me: the app will work fine as I begin to use it. Once I either switch out of the app and then try and go back into it, or if the phone goes into sleep mode...if I go back into the app it's frozen. And then I either have to manually shut it down or it will actually shut down for me. This is only happening on my iPhones (one is a X, another is an 😎. The iPad is working fine, as is the laptop. I submitted a diagnostic from my iPhone X: 1210298232. Thanks in advance for any ideas. (I already tried deleting the app from the phone and then re-installing it, to no avail.)
How can I access the tv input from the playbar so I can access. The tv sound on other Sonos components ?
Will Sonos ZonePlayers have Airplay 2 support?
Just bought TV in white and was going to buy play around but you don't do it in white will you be doing this in the near future if not I will have to purchase a different play bar
Hello SONOS, I am the victim of falling in love with your products and despaired at the same time that only some are manufactured in white. Please, oh please, start making and selling white editions of your products - and from the heat on the forums about this, you are potentially missing out on a lot of money as there seems to be a lot of interest in this. Please hear us out.. Help us help you to promote SONOS to the next level of Customer Caring. Best regards, Jesper
I have a HomePod. Pretty meh to my ears and only works with half baked AppleTv. But it does have decent bass and spreads sound around nicely. Thinking of getting a Beam, putting HomePod on top and connecting them thru Airplay. That way it'd work with every source I send thru my TV, perhaps augment Beams bass and add it's "wall of sound" to Beams presumably more focused image. Any thoughts? Would this work? Would audio be synchronized? I'll probably wind up selling HomePod & getting a Playbass but I might try this first!
I was wondering if it is ok to turn the power on and off the Sonos One? We have them hooked up outside on our Patio through our porch light with two power plugs and don't want to leave the light on all the time. (Older house with no ouyside plugs).
Hi guys, 2 evenings of pulling my hair out and even with the research, time to create a new post... Trying to get a 5.1 signal to my playbar / sub / 2 P1s. No pass through on Panasonic tv so got a Portta HDMI switch with audio extractor... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DZIXIMQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_IUpsBb6XKS4ZB Seen this recommended for use with playbar so thought a safe bet... Works fine when 2ch selected but as soon as I select 5.1 get no sound whatsoever. blu Ray, zgemma box and Xbox all perform the same way. Randomly I got it working once with the xbox. Sonos app showed 5.1 signal for the first time. But never again... Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Faulty switch? Wrong switch? Driving me nuts. Shouldn’t be this hard... Thanks
