On black Friday after only owning the sub for < 8 hours - while watching TV it made a loud pop, started to buzz which was immediately followed by the "hot electrical smell" - then began to smoke. I unplugged and move it out of the house - but am sure it would have got to the point of catching fire as I almost needed oven mats to move it. Has anyone else had an issue like this?
Hi I have a high end A/V system powered by an ARCAM A/V receiver and Dynaudio Front & Centre speakers with a B&W subwoofer. I am downsizing to a much smaller apartment and do not have the space for all the speaker equipment. Do I have to get rid of it all, or can I use some of it based around the Sonos system? I am thinking, particularly of the subwoofwer which cost around $1800 7 years ago. Can I connect this into a Sonos 5.1 surround sound Cinema system, or would I be better off just using the Sonos system in total? Many thanks D
Every time we play music from our phones it either pauses half way through or it will skip tracks. Apparently this Hs been going on for a while according to other comments I’ve read. Seriously, there’s no loyalty to customers anymore.
Hello, can anyone that have tested both, tell me if playbar is better or not compared to the playbase, in terms of sound quality? Except for the obvious installation difference, I have more or less a 50m2 living room, with a sofa in the center, and a TV with a central stand. Playbase seems to be the most reasonable choice, but I'm still not 100% convinced since I've read several opinions related to sound quality difference. Is this difference so huge, or can be left apart taking the installation as the only choice parameter? Thanks
I have noticed that my Beam has sound distortion sometimes when people are speaking, it only happens when the pitch is high and only lasts for a fraction of a second. This seems independent of the volume setting, although the volume is normally set at 50%. Anyone else noticed this?
I would like to connect my subwoofer to a Connect Amp's subwoofer output. However, the sub out on the amp has a low frequency cutoff at 80hz. My subwoofer has its own variable lowpass filter and I do not want to feed it a filtered signal. Is there any way with the Connect Amp to feed my subwoofer a full-range signal from sub out, to allow the subwoofer's low pass filter to do all the filtering?
Is there any place where I can find the Protective Cover Replacement for Sonos One?
using an hp desktop with the sonos play:3. i want to stream music from itunes on the desktop through the sonos speaker.
Please help! Sanus' SMF218-B1 sonos beam mount screw holes do not line up with screw holes on the back of the TCL 43S403. FYI the 4 mounting holes on the back of the tv are 2” from center. The smallest option on the sanus bracket are 4” from center. Neither Sanus or TCL have a solution. Anyone know of a 3rd party adaptor to make these fit?
Unable to pair bluetooth headphones with Samsung TV when the Sonos Beam is being used/connected. The Beam is connected via HDMI ARC. Is there a solution that allows me to easily switch from listening with the Sonos system (Beam & 2 qty Sonos Player1's) to listening with headphones? Bonus would be if I'm able to listen with Headphones and Sonos system speakers, both of these options are available if Sonos isn't part of the equation.

Recent purchase of a LG 55 OLED. Connected a SONOS Beam via HDMI ARC. Works fine except for some lip syncing but that is another story. I then connected a SONY X700 via another HDMI Out 1 port (Video/Audio) . When I play the DVD, the initial preview and other preliminary features work fine and the sound comes out of the SONOS Beam. When I play the movie, there is no sound output coming from the SONOS Beam. I would think it would just work, but obviously not. I must be missing something in the settings. I would hope someone can give me an idea of how this should be setup so I can hear the sound when playing the DVD.
$599 sub vs $269 2x Play:1s - good deal for either. Which one will have more impact to augment the Beam for party music/video?
So Sonos 1 works great with my iPhone. Shows up in the home app. I can tell Siri to play whatever in the living room and that works fine. My issue is playing content that is stored on my apple watch. The sonos 1 does not show up as a device in the airplay devices on the watch. Only on the phone. Any thoughts?
I’ve cut the cord and added a Roku Ultra to my Samsung smart TV and Playbar/sub. The Roku remote easily took control of Playbar volume, however the TV now displays the annoying “Audio out” dialogue every time I change the volume with said remote. The following article has fixes for a variety of remotes, but not Roku: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/2072?language=en_US Is there a way to eliminate this annoying message when using volume control on the Roku remote?
My system is nowdays playing music ok but I still feel the Controllers are generally unresponsive and slow in many ways. This is especially prominent when I play local music files (flac). - Slow or extremely slow loading of artwork, sometimes artwork will never load for some tracks. But then next time it will load so no actual problem with the file. - On iOS if the Controller has been inactive for a while it will usually not respond first 5-10 seconds, also in this case artwork will reload, slowly. - If I pick up a iPad/iPhone with Controller running it will practically never show what I'm playing. It will show the wrong text, the wrong position and the wrong artwork. I will have to wait a ridiculous amount of time until it's correct. The problem exists on Laptop too but not so much as on iOS. - Very often on iOS the Controller will restart automatically when unit has been unused for a while. And after that restart it will take yet some time for correct artwork and controls to sh
I recently purchased a LG OLED65C8 and it there is no sound when connecting to a Playbase using optical out. My prior Sony TV connected fine to the Play Base using Dolby Digital content from both my Apple TV and Tivo. I have tried both Auto and PCM settings under Settings | Sound | Sound Out | Optical | Digital Sound Out, but with no luck. Sound is working only from the internal speakers. I checked the optical cable and I see a red light at the Playbase end, so it appears to be outputting a signal. Can anyone advise which settings are needed to make this TV connect to the Playbase? I would like to exhaust all settings before pulling the TV off the wall and replacing the optical cable.
Message " One of your speakers could be unplugged" is coming up for Play base speaker" even though it is connected. But the Playbase is working fine with TV . I noticed this issue from the time i upgrade to the latest software(AirPlay Version). Looks like the Playbase is not connected to Network and that could be causing the issue. Any help is appreciated.
I recently experienced the blank screen issue of the Sonos app (Windows 10 - 64bits). In this community I read a suggestion to uninstall the Intel graphics driver, but there may be an easier solution. At the bottom of the display settings window you will find graphics settings. Here you can set your preferences by app. I selected the Sonos.exe and assigned it another graphics driver. Without any restart I opened the Sonos app and it worked!
Am I missing something, or is it impossible to use the PC desktop controller to adjust the volume of individual zones when they are linked? On the remote controller, you can adjust the volume for the entire linked group, or zone by zone; the desktop controller, however, seems to only allow the option of adjusting the entire linked group. 😞
I would like to control the volume of my Sonos (controller) by pushing the standard volume buttons of my Mac. Similar to what you do with the Android volume button (or the iOS volume buttons, I assume)
I'm getting myself into a bit of a mess with the remote control situation with my Beam! I have Sky and a Sony TV so, ordinarily, I would program my Sky remote to control the volume on my Sony TV. Now, I was under the impression that, with some help from HDMI-CEC, I'd plug the Beam into my TV and my Sky remote would control the volume on the Beam (instead of the TV). I didn't think I'd have to enter a new code for my Sky remote? After a bit of tinkering, I discovered an option in the Sonos app which allows you to 'enable IR'. I did that... pointed my Sky remote at the Beam, pressed the volume up button... and hey presto... volume was now being controlled. However, I am finding it very, very unreliable. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. I'd say, at the moment it's not working more often than it is! So should I be disable 'IR' in the Sonos app and using HDMI-CEC? I'm pretty confused! Thanks Nick
In 2019 there is a big WiSA push planned with LG, Klipsch, Bang & Olufsen, Axiim, Enclave, JBL and Pioneer. There will be LG OLED TVs that will work with any combination of WiSA certified wireless speakers. The speakers are capable of up to eight channels of uncompressed 24-bit wireless audio supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. I saw this at CEDIA a few years back and it appears finally ready for consumers. It's amazing to imagine an entirely wireless Atmos surround system capable 24 bit audio. No HDMI or optical to the soundbar or any wires to speakers, other than power. Has anyone looked at WiSA technology and have thoughts on this wireless multichannel high-fidelty audio?
Hello. I have just bought a Sonos beam. I also have a play 5, play 3 and a play 1. When watching tv the beam works fine on its own. But when I group the other speakers to beam while watching tv the other speakers keep cutting out intermittently. It only happens with tv, while grouped and listening to music they are fine. I have tried changing from hdmi arc to optical but it didn’t help. I have reset the router and didn’t help. I have also tried watching video through the PlayStation and the tv itself (freeview) but the problem still occurs. Any advice greatly appreciated.
you have most probably been asked this a 1000 times have a playbase and two ones, my tv a panasonic TX-L42ET60B doesnt pass 5.1 digital out through my optical output. The only way I can get 5.1 is to plug my Virgin v6 box direct to my playbase but this isnt ideal what spitter box do I need to purchase to get around this thank you
