I've got a $19 MP3 player hooked to my home audio system continually playing a mix of 80s music -- and it plays randomly. I'd love to be able to do this with my Sonos Connect but I don't think it's an option - but could be. I'd like to have a long playlist that I can put on random (shuffle) AND repeat all. I do NOT want it to keep repeating the tracks in the same order each time it starts over (which is what currently happens). It should randomly play each song once (which shuffle does) and then play each song again in a different random order - forever. Said another way, once the last song in the shuffled play list has been reached, I'd like it to re-shuffle the playlist and then start again from the top. If I've missed some option, please share. If not, I hope some devs are reading the forums... I know this isn't a tough feature to implement -- the UI design would be the longest meeting (where would we put that option? ;-)) BTW: I'm playing songs from my local library
Please allow for the volume slowly increase for alarms and decrease it for sleep mode. The feature I envision would be an option for alarms and sleep which takes a fade-in or fade-out time. A default time of 5 minutes is reasonable. When enabled the alarm will start at just above 0 volume and gradually increase to the volume configured for the alarm over the configured fade-in time. Likewise, once the sleep timer reaches the fade-out time remaining the volume will gradually decrease to zero over the configured fade-out time.
I could make use of a Sonos adapter dongle that would take whatever audio source device its connected to and stream that audio to your Sonos Speakers. Think of something like a Chromecast Audio, but for Sonos. You could have one dongle for different connections (interchangeable plugs) or attached connections with different versions of the adapter My thinking behind that is to take something without sonos support for example a computer, I would plug in a sonos adapter into the 3.5mm headphone jack and have my computer audio stream to a stereo pair of Play ONE. I could have that stereo pair sitting on my desk and act as my now computer speakers. Also, now that Im typing this, I thought, You could also have a dongle for HDMI ARC. It could benefit in several ways. A cleaner set up without the hdmi cord running up to the tv from your sound bar, for those of us who dont have our wires running behind walls. Maybe a rare situation i want my tv audio to play on a certain speaker wit
There have been reports that, on some Huawei Android phones like the P20 Pro, music playback stops after the phone goes to sleep, presumably because the phone kills the Sonos app. This happens despite exempting the app from battery optimisation (see the steps in the second link): https://en.community.sonos.com/troubleshooting-228999/streaming-on-android-6806131/index1.html#post16308919 https://www.reddit.com/r/Huawei/comments/9w44bz/p20_pro_and_sonos_keeps_stopping/ Has this been fixed? Is it a known issue? Are there Huawei users which can make the Sonos app work just fine? On a more technical note, is the Sonos app set as a foreground service? This should help prevent the OS from killing it I know I can benefit from a generous return period when I buy the Sonos, but I'd like to get the full picture before I decide to pull the trigger. Thanks!
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=31034 I recently saw the sycamore underground sub/speaker set at monoprice and decided i want to go with two set of subs and speakers. From the description on monoprice you can wire to a single channel at 4ohms. So instead of getting two sonos connect amps to power each set, could i just get one sonos amp, 125w per channel, and power each set at 4 ohms off each channel? Any help would be appreciated
Trying to Trueplay a room, no room set up on my iPad. Where did it go?
I am currently deciding whether to upgrade my current connect:amp to the new Amp or buy a sub instead. In my living room I currently have the following setup : Music :- Sonos Connect:Amp Mission QX-2 speakers Pro-Ject debut carbon Turntable Movies / TV :- Sonos Beam Play:1 x 2 as surround speakers I am trying to decide if it makes more sense to upgrade to the new amp or get the sub to make a 5.1 system. I have worked out two options Option 1 : Purchase the sub and leave everything as it is. The advantage of the sub for me is that as it is wireless I can hide it pretty much anywhere in the room. Option 2 : Upgrade the amp. If this was the case I would use it also for my home theatre and get rid of the beam and use my current hifi speakers for front left and right channel. It would however mean that I need to re-arrange the room slightly and bring the hifi speakers into a more prominent position next to the tv (significant wife convincing needed). It would also mean t
They have ruined the PC interface.
What happened to seeing what is playing on the lock screen on your iOS device? I know it still shows a small window, but it used to show the whole screen with a black background. The new one is cheesy looking. Go back to the old one like the android.
I have an Audio-Technica AT-LP1240-USB Direct-Drive that I would like to add into my current setup and I want to know if the new Sonos Amp or perhaps a Play 5 will work. My current setup is the following: HD TV connected via optical to the Playbase w/a Sonos Sub and 2 Play 1's. My turntable is located right below the TV in a cabinet. I had previously looked into getting the Sonos Connect. The goal is to be able to play my vinyl through my Sonos sound system with the best sound possible and w/the least amount of cables (obviously 😉 ). The turntable I own has a built-in preamp w/both RCA and USB out. Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated. I've made several decisions based on the community here and I thank you all for your support. Cheers!
I have been having some difficulty getting all of these to work together. I initially wanted to ditch the harmony hub and remote and control everything through the beam + alexa using the HDMI ARC port, but the sonos was only able to turn my tv on. Everytime I asked alexa to turn off the tv she says "ok," but nothing ever happens. Prior to setting up the beam, I had this working no problem with alexa and the harmony hub. I was able to turn the tv on and off without any issues. Now, I am completely unable to turn off the tv using alexa. I am trying to get alexa to ignore turning the tv on and off using HDMI ARC, but I cant seem to figure it out. I have an LG tv and if I turn off simplink the auido out to the beam no longer works. I might just have to reset the beam, get it to work with my echo again, and then try setting up the beam from scratch. Any suggestions?
There still aren't alot of reviews out but this is probably the best I have seen. Like the others they say it is high treble. I backed my treble down a bit. https://www.soundandvision.com/content/sonos-amp-streaming-amplifier-review
Hi, I need advice to select the best sound card to conect my custom built PC with the Sonos 5.1 system i have. I have an optical switcher with which i connect my TV, my PS4 and my PC to Sonos. I use the PC connected to the TV to watch movies, shows, play videogames and stream music. Ideally, almost all sounds in my livingroom will come from my PC. Thanks
Hi guys, I'm hoping I could get some help/advice. We're building a home and had built in speakers as an upgrade. We were told to get a sonos amp that could support 6 speakers, but now after doing some research it just doesn't exist. We will have 2 speakers on main floor, then two upstairs in one master and two in the other master so 6 total. I've been told that I can somehow connect 4 speakers to one Sonos box and it would work perfectly fine... Is this correct?? If so, would they all play the same music on one zone? Can I seperate say the two speakers on main floor and two upstairs on one Sonos box? We weren't prepared to buy more then one because our builder told us we only needed one, so we're a little upset about it, but I'm just looking for the best option to at least have 4/6 run in if possible. Thanks in advance!!
We can download and install controller, but cannot run program
i purchased a mars nebula projector, along with a sonos one pair (i have many other older generation sonos), plus firestick tv thinking this was the proper combination to stream tv sound directly to the sonos rather than the projector's own (bad) speakers (i swear i read this worked, somewhere). i can't seem the get the tv sound to play through any sonos though even after pairing alexa and firetv and the new sonos etc. Am i supposed to be using airplay? am i missing a component ? i now understand that i can control the projector apps directly through alexa on the sonos, and i see that the projector's interface has an option to set up with a sonos playbar, but still can't manage to switch the projector sound to play on the sonos. please let me know what i might be missing.
I just connected our Sonos system. We have the Playbar. Sub, and 2 Sonos One's. Everything works great if I plug the Digital audio cable directly into my Dish Hopper. If I plug the digital audio cable into the TV I get nothing. I set tv to turn surround sound on, but that did not work. I can not find any other options to turn digitial sound output on, on the TV.
I have a set of sones one paired in stereo in my kitchen, but lately it has turned the volume to Max several times. I only does it rarely but when it does, it sound like somebody is clicking the touch buttons as I can hear the small tone when touching them. I have been thinking dirty controls on the top, but since it's an 2018 model, it would expect theese filthy fingers on touch was so 2015-2016 issues. Not to be expected on a modern speaker. Am I wrong here.
I am having Lip sync issues between my Sonos Beam and Samsung Q7 TV. Does anyone else have similar issues and have you been able to resolve. I have tried all the audio delay settings etc but still have issues. For some reason it is only where I select Dolby digital on the TV and Sky, it’s at this point it all goes Pete tong. Any ideas?
New 9.2 Update on PC's - Windows is Black & White, no more deep Blue and no more subtle SonosGlyphics. As also noted in another Topic, the Windows based Controller no longer has the Add Player Option. I was told that this capability is now only on Mobile Ap's. All of this makes no sense to me, I do not like the look o f the New Windows Controller at all, and don't like that I can't use a PC or Laptop to Add a Player. I understand that Sonos wants to be sure to support Mobile, as the way of the future, but why do they need to spend resources to actually Reduce the Quality of the Windows Controller !? why not save the money and let us keep what we already had !?
I have a playbar, sub, and two Sonos Ones. I updated all today as well as my ipad and iphone apps. In the settings page of the Sonos app it tells me I do not have any compatible Airplay speakers. What am I missing. The Sonos system is not showing up as available on any device.
How do I change room names?
Any possibility to have an optionnal switch to mute the Sonos music when the iphone rings and is answered. The volume controls are not accessible when the iphone rings and I have to run ouside the house to answer the phone with a customer on the line... Would it be possible to have a switch to auto mute the Sonos when I answer a phone call?
Hi Guys, I like turning up the volume when i'm home alone, listening to a favorite album or just getting excited over some new music. But I also recieve a lot of phonecalls during the day, which usually has me running head-less around to, either, get to the "pause" button on my sonos-player, or fumbling with my phone to access the Sonos app and mute the sound( sometimes resulting in missing the call). So here's my suggestion. Why don't you incorporate an automatic mute or pause function of the music playing, when there is an incoming call on the device, last used as a sonos-controller? I think that would be awesome!
I finally got a DD 5.1 stream from Battlefield V into my Beam and I am absolutely stoked! NVidia failed 2 channel PCM, onboard motherboard failed 2 channel PCM via SPDIF. Creative soundblaster Z ( 4 year old tech) with included Dolby Digital Live Success and it is truest worth all the sweat and tears and $70 for the card. No lag on encoding and the bullets are flying past my head in multiplayer and that tiger tank just exploded behind me and to my right. Hope this helps put other music fans who are also gamers! 😉
